Don’t let my RBF fool you, my foster mom can assure you I’m a lovely cat. I come from humble beginnings living as a greenhouse cat. I loved my community of other cats there and had many friends. Our community at the greenhouse however was growing to big so Furever Friends came to help. There were quite a few of us who were able to find ourselves in foster homes. Most of them finding their furever homes already. But alas here I still am looking for my furever home.

So let me tell you about myself. I’m a very well behaved lady. I scratch on my scratch trees, I go to my eating spot and sleep in the cozy cat bed on the sofa. As a mature sophisticated lady I don’t care much for rough housing. However I do love a good chase after the cat wand. My favourite thing to do is nap with my pal Katniss. She always saves me the best bed next to her. Oh and I do love a good mani/pedi, I sit so nice on foster mom’s lap while she pampers me.

I do have a bit of a sensitive tummy and have a bit of a restricted diet. Somethings just make me very itchy. Don’t worry there are still lots of things I can have. Like the tuna tube treats! I absolutely love those!! And kibble, I can eat a whole bag by myself.

I currently live with a few other foster cats, a resident dog and cat. We all get along really well. At first I didn’t think I could live life with a dog. Turns out they are actually kind of nice to rub on and they sometimes leave crumbs in their bowls for me to lick out. Foster mom says I like to be the boss of the house. I’ve tried to tell Bart that but somehow he just doesn’t get it.

I’m hoping 2025 will finally be the year I get adopted.

Meet Min
Our newest Recovery Rockstar. Dear little Min was on of the last few kittens to be born at the greenhouse. She can into care with a very bad Upper Respiratory Infection. Which in turn causes poor dental health for some felines.

Min has been so brave as the vet informed us that she would indeed need a full dental. Poor Min had to have all her teeth removed at such a young age. But we know that she will live her best life with no dental pain.

Min has fully recovered from her surgery and will be on the hunt for her furever home soon.

Hi, my name is Wren.
My mom died when she was run over by a car and it was the saddest day of my life. I cried and cried.
Someone heard me and my siblings, Starling and Sparrow, crying and brought us to the pound. When no one came to claim us, I thought that this was the end for all of us. I overheard the people talking about what how every rescue and humane society is so full because we still have sooo many cats that are not fixed.

We were brought to the vet and she was crying, too. She said she just couldn’t do it anymore. I sensed a chance and I gave her my best 'puppy dog eyes'…she said "I will call Furever Friends Cat Rescue again, but don’t get your hopes up. They are full and we know it." I tried to run while she was on the phone. I was stopped at the front door. Shoot! "Wait" the vet called to me, "they have made a space for you, but you are going to have to be in foster care with 2 dogs, 3 cats and a kid." I said "PERFECT!" My sisters cheered!

Our foster homes have been glorious! Full of people, animals, and love. There is always something or someone to play with and I love all of the activities and all of the snuggles. My favourite thing is to curl up with a person and watch TV. I try to sneak my paw into the popcorn, but I get caught…most of the time. I just smells so yummy! Once I did eat some and it made my tummy feel yucky or maybe it was the salmon pate?! I think maybe it could be seafood! I got yucky medicine for a really long time. I might have a seafood sensitivity. But I'm all better now!…

Hi there!
My name is Clover,
I am the only survivor of my litter.
I was born in a cat colony and was a wild little kitten. Sometimes when I am playing “hunt your feet” I hide under the couch, pretend I am still a wild feral cat that will eat you for lunch…but I am actually very tame and much prefer to be in your arms for snuggles and cuddles.
When I was rescued I was super sick with an upper respiratory infection. All my siblings died before they could be rescued. I was the strongest and bravely fought my way through the sickness to survive. Being that sick as a kitten means that when my adult teeth grow in they may all need to be removed. I won’t mind having wet food for the rest of my life…yum! Lots of rescue cats have no teeth and I was told that it’s not that big of a deal. Right now I am teething so I like to bite and chew and my foster family has a hard time keeping me from chewing on them…so probably best for me not to be in a family with young kids for now.
My foster dad taught me how to play fetch. He is a dog guy… so he also harness trained me to go for walks…not much luck with the leash but I am a very smart boy and will get it eventually. I actually don’t mind the harness at all it’s that I just don’t want to go outside. It’s cold, let’s watch a movie on the couch and snuggle instead! I am also down for a nap in the big bed! I love to sleep on the pillows! Don’t let me convince you that I sleep all the time. I play hard and I sleep hard. I have gotten some complaints about being up too early to play… I politely placed the “sleeping in” idea back in the suggestion box to be looked at in the future…possibly…maybe…probably not. I would definitely consider a playmate a good idea! Another kitten my age to run and play with would definitely burn some of my excess energy!

🌟 Recovery Rockstar 🌟

Emmeline has a bit of a long story. She first came into rescue after being given away on a Facebook group. Emmeline and her kittens were sent directly to foster care where it was discovered that they had a bad case of ringworm. Her foster home took very good care of her and her kittens and they were back to healthy in no time.

Emmeline waited patiently for her adoption day and was very happy in her adoptive home. Then life changed and Emmeline found herself back with FFCR. She spent a few day in foster care adjusting to life without her person. After a few months in foster care had gaining back her confidence she was our featured feline at Pet Valu.

Once again Emmeline found herself adopted. She was having a hard time adjusting to life with another feline friend. So for her well being she came back to FFCR’s care.

Not long after entering foster care care her fosters notice Emmeline was a bit off. It was discovered that she had 5 teeth that needed extraction. She went in for surgery and is now living a more comfortable life.

📣 Upcoming Event 📣

We’ll be at Pet Valu Saturday October 19 11-3 and Sunday October 20th 11-3.

It’s Companions for Change month and the staff are working hard to collect donations for FFCR and Feed the Furbabies Canada.
Everyone who donates will be entered to win a pair of Jets tickets.

We’ll also have our trio of super awesome black cats with us.
Taboo, Clover and Mittsu will be there ready for all the head scratches and nose boops.
