POSTMEN VOLUNTEERS NEED A CAR BATTERY.

A couple of our volunteers are coming from Kersley to Quesnel, they broke down in Kersley, and they got it going, but need a donated car battery so they can continue their trip to PG to be deployed to fight wildfires. Just a regular car battery that will work and hold a charge.

If anyone has one they can donate that would be great, this is time-sensitive as they have to be in PG by tomorrow.

Contact Arizona or Selina at 250-667-2433
If you arrange with them and help them with one, please let us know, thank you all for helping.

My daughter has posted the news, I was waiting for that and now am sharing her post. We lost my grandson the other day. He passed away due to natural causes. Many of you knew of him from he had his accident and many of you helped the family. We are all so grief-struck, William was a wonderful, happy young boy and was doing so good. I myself have offered and plan to publish a Gofund to help his immediate family, things are going to be very difficult for them financially and the help would be so very appreciated. As I did before I will be including an alternate way to donate of e-transfer ([email protected]), and will be mentioned as well on the Gofund,
We all ask for a level of privacy at this difficult time, with much love, thank you all.
~ Dave Llewellyn

- Gofund can be found at the following: https://gofund.me/43be13ea
- An alternate method to help is E-transfer to [email protected]. All donations will be sent directly to Kristen and Bert. I also have had a couple people ask for physical address to bring donations in person which is fine with us. The address is 982 Maple Heights Rd, Quesnel, BC v2j3x3, please call or message ahead, at 250-983-5485. Bless you all

William has endured more than any teenage boy should have, but he did it all with the biggest smile on his face. He will always be remembered for his love of video games, fishing, and his very infectious laugh. He has brought so much happiness and laughter into not only his family's life, but everyone around him.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date for when the snow is gone, so we can all gather at a lake, one of his favorite places to be.
At this time our family asks for privacy as we grieve and heal together. We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers ❤️❤️

House fire in Quesnel - Family needs our help.

This tragic fire happened Aug 6/23, and we have very little information at this time, but we noticed a Gofund has been set up for them.

As always we ask people to do what they can to help those who fall victim to a crisis like this. As for what they need, and their clothing sizes, all of this is unknown but we are working on it.

I just wanted to get this out there and have my media team get on it in hopes it helps them feel a little less stressed.

Please read the Gofund page for their story, while battling cancer, now this fire, there is more to consider here and we hope we can get some help for these people.

Thank you all for all you do for others, bless your hearts.

Check back to this post and our page for updates as we acquire them.

EDIT, Aug7/23:
There apparently were 2 different gofunds quickly set up, we have now changed the link to a gofund created by an actual family member, and on the Gofund page, we learned that not only did they have this fire, but she has been battling cancer, so please help if you can. More details as they come to us.

Any questions, you can inbox our page, or you can phone me at 250-983-5485

Please consider helping this man and his family out. Some of you may recognize him as Heavy D, from the restaurant here in Quesnel. Great man, who has done a lot for the community. This just happened, so please understand he is reaching out for any and all other resources to get help. Suggestions here will not get to him, we only hope to pass this on and hope he gets some much-needed help. There may be more updates later, bless you all for helping.

If you have any questions for Danny, please email him directly. We are at this point unsure of his situation. He may require some help still, we are not sure, we do not even know clothing sizes, etc, but he can answer these questions. Basically, we are just trying to help by sharing his post asking for help....thank you.

It has been a while since we posted how William was doing. It is with much love, appreciation and happiness we tell you he is home, doing so very well. He is adjusting to life now and so is the family. So many people made the journey easier with your love, kindness, help, prayers and best wishes, it truly did mean so much to William and all our family.

This is a short video Wililiam's sister put together on TikTok, she is William's best friend, what a wonderful video Gloria.

Forever grateful ❤️

W***Y IS HOME!!

Not a dry eye around, this is a wonderful day! After almost 6 months in the hospital, W***y is home, praise God! Look how happy he is, grinning ear to ear. Family together again, such a good day.

I and the rest of the family, again....thank you to all who have done so much for him. Even with the sharing of posts, you might not realize how big a deal that is, it helped so much. Most of all to all the doctors, nurses, and specialists who did miracles, they are heroes! Those who donated and continue to the go fund so mom and dad could fly back and forth to Vancouver, the help with paying the mortgage, expenses, and everything, it helped so so much, bless you all.

Today is a very good day.

QUESNEL

A family of 4 lost everything they had in a tragic house fire in Quesnel just the other day. The family did contact us and we would like to ask for some help for this family. They lost absolutely everything. At this time they are staying at a very small motel and are unsure yet where they are going to move to. They are looking for a home to rent. With only a small kitchenette at the motel, there is not a lot they can do, but they are doing their best.

Such a terrible thing to go through, we all know that. Let's help this family out, Quesnel has always been such a caring and giving spirit.

Their needs at this point are limited to certain things until they find a place to call home. Without knowing where they are to live next they are holding off at accepting any furniture and other large items, but there are urgent needs for other things.

The city has a time limit on when people are eligible for financial help, and things were so hectic for them that they lost some time to do this, so some very important needs at this time are......

- Grocery gift cards.
- Visa prepaid cards.
- Prepaid gas cards for their vehicle.
- They have a dog who is a new mother to 8 puppies, so some food for her and Puppy-Pee-Pads would be very helpful.
- Dad could use for his work a pair of work boots size 10, as well as from Mark's Wear House a pair of Carhart Bibs, also for his work. Or perhaps a gift card to Mark's Work Wearhouse so he can get the things he needs.
- The mother and Father have 2 boys, ages 16 and 19.
- Clothing is not a need at this time but could change later.

Please keep watching this post as it will be edited from time to time when more information comes in, but we needed to get this out as soon as possible as grocery cards, and visa gift cards would be such a huge help to them right now so they can buy much-needed food and other things to get by.

They are very overwhelmed but very thankful for so much kindness from communities and appreciate things so much. However, they would like to ask if anyone can help contact The Postmen (via Dave Llewellyn) at 250-983-5485. The family and we are in constant contact.

Note: They have gone through all other possible avenues for help within their ability, city, red cross and others have been in contact and help may come for them through this but it is not immediate, they need our help now.

Bless you, all for caring and helping those who need others' help.

UPDATE: Talking with the family they have informed us that their daughter in Vanderhoof, BC has started a go fund for them, we are including the link to the Go fund as well as mentioning an alternate means of donating, which is direct to an email address All e-transfers are recorded and sent immediately to the family.
Gofund: https://gofund.me/cbe9d2dd
E-transfer: [email protected]

New update Jan 17/23:
At this time they are now hoping to get some furniture, for now, it is limited to only a couple things, but that will change later as they secure a place, which I think they have.
- Dressers
- Television
- Queen-size bed- Clothes dryer
As I mentioned this may change soon, please come back to this post again as we give updates.
She has given me the ok to mention something, after the fire while working on getting a place to live in she had a fall and now has to go for surgery tomorrow, poor people can't get a break, please help them out as much as you can and keep your prayers coming for them thank you. Please call me and I will pass on the information, they have a lot on their plate and with her going into the hospital, messages may be a bit late getting through but they will eventually.
Message me direct (Dave Llewellyn) or phone 250-983-5485.

NEED A RIDE - From Quesnel to Kelowna ASAP

We have a fellow who desperately needs to get to Kelowna or Vernon as soon as possible, today or tomorrow. Short notice yes, but it is quite important. He has been having some really bad health and other issues and needs to get there from Quesnel quick to take care of some very important things. He has only a small carry bag. He has $100 to give for fuel, this is all he can afford. Instead of getting into too much detail, we can tell you he is really down and out and needs some help. He is not looking for any other suggestions on how to get there, he simply wants to hire a personal ride and will pay.

Is anyone happen to be heading that way from Quesnel today or tomorrow and would allow him to ride along?

Again....he is not looking for any other suggestions on how to get there, he simply wants to hire a personal ride and will pay. As much as we appreciate other suggestions, this is his wish for reasons he can explain to whoever may want to help him out.

Please contact him at the following number(s).

Oh, how I would LOVE to do this, hand out money to people, especially right before Christmas. Bless this guy's heart for what he decided to do, and turns out he is a veteran.
And I just love the little old lady who refused it and said to give it to someone else who really needs it. Bless her heart.
This is so heartwarming.....oh how I wish I could do what he got to do.

WINTER WEAR

With the bitter cold spell we are experiencing here in Quesnel, and other areas around BC and Alberta, it brings to mind of many people who may not have sufficient (if any) winter wear to keep them warm.

I would like to urge all of you to kindly give to others if you have any extra warm winter wear to help them be warm this winter.

If you know of anyone who could use something like this, feel free to message us direct. We do not have anything on hand, but it certainly is something we would be happy to try and reach out to the local community and see if someone can help. There is never a guarantee we will get the help, but asking is the first step. Unfortunately there are many who need these things and so much more, this is just one request of the many we wish we could see happen.

I myself would like to request help for a local couple who does not have sufficient winter wear. They had bought all new stuff last year but due to water damage and mold setting in they had to throw it all out. They are on a very limited income as well.

Jackets: He wears a 3-4 XXL and she wears a woman's size large.

If anyone can help, please message me direct (Dave Llewellyn), otherwise for any other Postmen things feel free to message our inbox.

QUESNEL: I am very happy to take in any winter wear you have that someone else can use and store it here in the event someone needs it. Happy to wash and clean it up as well.

Merry Christmas to you all, stay warm, and remember that giving even a little can mean so much to someone else.

The Postmen volunteers are still here. As always happy to do what is in our power to assist those in need. By reaching out to communities, and our volunteers donating their time to collect, and deliver to those in need. At the very least get word out when there is a situation where someone is in need of help.

You may not have known but just today there was an unusual earthquake activity in Peace River, Alberta with a magnitude of 5.3 as well as some activity near there on Nov 23/22.

The world's largest active volcano in Hawaii which erupted on Nov 27/22 now has a significant lava river flowing.

It is times like this that we tend to re-group and think. So for that reason we are just letting everyone know that we are still here, always have been. Locally or further away, we will always do what is in our power and reach to help.

Update on my grandson William.

It has been a while since we did an update on my grandson William.
With the prayers, positive vibes and wishes, all the grateful help that so many people have been given,. and of course the amazing work by incredible doctors and specialists, he is doing so much better, but of course has a long way to go. From being in a coma not being able to talk, walk, eat, to this is so wonderful.

They are talking of the possibility of transferring him from Vancouver to a facility in Prince George. A difference of 500 or so miles from home to only 75 miles. Will make things so much easier on his dad Bert Butcher and my daughter Kristen Llewellyn.

It is and always has been with consent from his dad and my daughter and actually request at times that we do share these updates and videos of this journey.

The costs of these kinds of things is staggering, so I always include the gofund in these updates. If you can help, great, if not then please share the updates, that there is a lot of help.

Thank you all again for everything. William is getting closer and closer to being able to come back home to Quesnel to his familiar bedroom, his sisters, dad and mom. Bless you all.

Gofund below in comments

If you aren't familiar with this situation, there are many updates including the original start of this journey on our The Postmen page

Joey lives in Wells , BC, not far from Quesnel. He is pretty well known around here and far for his knowledge of weather and helping all of us with predictions of weather, helping ensure people are safe and informed. Being a dad and living in a remote community things are tight for him, he could use a little help. With the winter months setting in, the need for firewood, more supplies and other things, he could use a little help. He has given so much to our community and others. He has spent countless hours working hard to bring us important information and never asks for anything in return but a thanks. Please consider helping this fellow out even a little goes a long way. Thank you all for all you can do for him and anyone else who is in need of a little help.
Sharing this post is also a great way to help.
