My goal is to help our companion animals through education and support of their human counterparts! I approach animal health in a holistic approach, with a scientific basis. As a veterinary assistant I voluntarily earned certification in the specialty of Fear Free techniques. I have actively worked helping owners with anxious or fearful animals work through procedures with less stress for everyone
! With my acquired knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as wound care and bandaging, I completed my certification to teach Equi-Health Equine First Aid. I offer fun and informative Equine First-aid clinics to all horse people, whether they just got their first lease on a horse, or have owned a herd for years, whether they own minis or drafts or donkeys. This comprehensive program is an internationally recognized program and suitable for CE's in many animal industries, as well as being recognized for graduation credits in some provinces. Sharing the techniques and knowledge of emergency response for horses with owners and barn staff will save horses lives when time is of the essence! I offer vet follow up support at your barn to assist with treatment following an injury. This includes, but is not limited to icing, cold hosing, injections, suture removal, wound care, etc. Sometimes these treatments are challenging for an owner due to schedule, comfort level, or just needing a second set of hands! I am also the Vancouver Island stockist of Scoot Boot Hoof Boots. In person, I will determine the best fit to protect your horse's feet - whether in transition, rehab or just for trail protection -I have you and your horse or pony covered!
