ADOPT MIA and/or NINA

NINA AND MIA NEED HOMES TO SAVE THEM FROM EUTHANASIA (they can be adopted seperately)

Mia: Grey and white face
Nina: All Grey face

Both girls are little pitties weighing around 55 pounds each. They are dog friendly and incredibly sweet. Both girls are still incredibly young at only a year and a half old.

Their story:

Nina and Mia were removed from someone's backyard along with 3 other siblings who have all been adopted. They lived the first year and a half of their lives to be used for breeding. They have never lived in a home before or had the loving hand of a human. These dogs are dog friendly and are INCREDIBLY sweet. These girls are petrified in the shelter. They cower in the corner and are afraid of their own shadows, yet they are incredibly sweet... they are really old souls.

They desperately need an adopter or a foster to adopt. These dogs can be placed in a home together or separate. They have not been cat tested. They need a lot of patience and love as they learn to walk on leash and potty training.

These girls are in a high kill shelter.. the amount of time they have left before euthanasia is unknown. Help give these girls a second chance at life!

Meet 7-8 month old PIXIE

Pixie is a corgi mix puppy. She is a sweet and playful girl. Ms. Pixie is a little timid at first and will need extra time to get comfortable with new people and situations, so a home that will allow her to feel safe and come out of her shell is ideal. Pixie seems to be very interested in other dogs and is more comfortable seeking out other dogs than seeking out people. Once she gets more comfortable with someone, she will give licks, enjoy petting and tummy rubs, and lounge on the bed with you. Pixie is a real independent woman and oftentimes, prefers to be in her own personal space.

Pixie is a clever girl and an escape artist! So, she will need to be diligently kept on leash. If you have a backyard, it must be properly fenced in, so that she cannot take herself out on an adventure.

Pixie is currently located in California, but can be transported to BC once an adopter is found. If you're interested in adopting Pixie, please send us a DM!

**Note: Adopter must be able to pick Pixie up in Seattle (1.5 hours from the border)

NINA AND MIA NEED HOMES TO SAVE THEM FROM EUTHANASIA (they can be adopted separately)

Now that Rockie and Luna are safe, we are trying to save their sisters who are still stuck in a high kill shelter in California!

Rockie, Luna, and their 3 other siblings were removed from someone's backyard where they lived the first year and a half of their lives to be used for breeding. They have never lived in a home before or had the loving hand of a human. These dogs are dog friendly and are INCREDIBLY sweet. Rockie and Luna are safe here in BC, one of their siblings was adopted, so now it is just Mia and Nina who need to be saved. These girls are petrified in the shelter. They cower in the corner and are afraid of their own shadows, yet they are incredibly sweet... they are really old souls.

They desperately need an adopter or a foster to adopt. These dogs can be placed in a home together or separate. They have not been cat tested but Rockie was placed in a home with a cat and is doing just fine. They need a lot of patience and love as they learn to walk on leash and potty training.

These girls are in a high kill shelter.. the amount of time they have left before euthanasia is unknown. Help give these girls a second chance at life!

RESCUE SUCCESS:

Rockie (now Darwin) and Luna are safe and in the most loving homes!

These babies went from a backyard for the first year of their life, to an overcrowded shelter for three weeks with no human interaction, to a vet for two nights, into loving homes. These babies have never felt love from a human, slept on a dog bed, or lived in a home before. They are now showered in love.. as it should have been from the start.

Just a few days ago, both dogs were so afraid they were cowering in a corner and had to be picked up to go anywhere because they were frozen in fear. Now they are running with spurts of energy, giving endless kisses and cuddles, walking on leash, and making lifetime bonds with their new families. Opening your heart up to a rescue will not only change their life for the better but yours as well.

Here is to their new beginning💖

Dark brown dog on the right is a boy weighing in at 51 pounds.

Both are sweet as can be.. I mean common, look at those faces! More information coming soon.

ATTENTION ALL ANIMAL LOVERS: HELP US SAVE LUNA AND ROCKIE FROM DEATH ROW

About the Rescue, (Canine Crew Dog Rescue)
We are a non-profit rescue based in Vancouver BC called Canine Crew Dog Rescue. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs from high kill shelters in California.

Because we are a new rescue, we were not planning on saving dogs until our website launched in October... but Luna and Rockie desperately need our help and we can't do it without you. Our Director, Madison Dutkiewicz, has been saving dogs from California for 5 years and decided to start Canine Crew this summer. Luna and Rockie are currently in a high kill shelter in California called Carson Animal Shelter.

About Luna and Rockie
Healthy, young, loving dogs are being euthanized because the shelters are underfunded and overcrowded. Rockie and Luna are just under a year old. Sweet Luna and Rockie came into the shelter with their three siblings (two were pregnant) because the owner had too many dogs that were being bred. They have only ever lived a life of loneliness in a backyard. This means that they have never felt what a loving home really feels like. When Luna and Rockie arrived at the shelter, they had to be carried to their pens when they wouldn’t walk because they had never been on a leash before... their life was truly confined to the four walls of their backyard. Luna and Rockie, just like their siblings, are very scared and overwhelmed with a high chance of euthanasia if something is not done. The shelter is extremely hot with no fans or AC, they are kept in concrete pens with little human interaction away from their siblings, and there is the constant echoing of dogs barking.

The shelter staff tried to walk both Luna and Rockie to the play yard, but both dogs froze in fear. As a result, they had to be placed into a rolling cart and taken to the yard. Both dogs are incredibly gentle and full of potential. We currently have two fosters here in British Columbia willing and able to take Luna and Rockie in to find forever homes. Now, we just need your help to raise funds for them.

What we need to save them
Our goal is to raise $800 to help support Luna and Rockies flight to BC, their spay and neuter because they were used for breeding and have not been fixed, vaccinations and health certificates, heartworm testing, and microchip identification. Their crate and flight to Canada alone will cost us $441.5 CAD per dog with Air Canada. That does not include their spay/neuter, shots, microchip, vaccinations and other necessary expenses, including foster care.

We hope to raise these funds by September 18th as we want to get them out of the shelter ASAP and have a flight volunteer available to transport them both to Canada on September 19th.

Every little bit counts. Whether that is $1, $5, $10, $20 or $50... it all adds up. Oftentimes people are understandably unable to foster because of their living situation. This is a way for you to help save two innocent lives by donating as little as $1.

Current euthanasia statistics in LA County
Between the months of July and August of this year, 524 dogs were euthanized in LA County... 78 of which came from Carson with a 36% euthanasia rate (resource here: https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Pawstats-year-to-date-August-2022.pdf)

Thank you so much for your time and generous donations. You are the reason we can continue to save lives! If you have any questions, please feel free to send us an email at [email protected] or DM us on Facebook/Instagram.

EDIT: FOSTER FOUND

UPDATE: FOSTER FOUND

MEET LUNA! SHE URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR HELP.

Luna is a 1 year old pittie mix living in a high kill shelter in California. She was brought in a few days ago with her 4 of her siblings.. two of which are pregnant. She is currently in an LA shelter where they euthanized over 450 dogs between July and August. If we find a foster or adopter, we can secure her safety by bringing her to Canada.

Luna was rescued from living in a backyard for the duration of her short 1 year of life and was used for breeding. She is incredibly timid and shy. When Luna and her siblings were brought into the shelter, they were unable to walk inside on their own because they have never experienced being on a leash before. The shelter workers had to carry them into their pens.

The shelter is incredibly overwhelming for them. They are kept in small concrete runs, have little human interaction, and constantly hear the incessant echoing of other dogs barking.

The shelter staff describe luna as timid and shy. When interacting with other dogs, she has no interest and hides away. For this reason, she would need to be placed in a foster with another laid back dog to build her confidence or a home with no dogs. We are not sure how she is with cats. You can still foster if you have a cat but would need to keep your cat in a separate room because we do not know how she is with them. If you have another dog, we will discuss how to slowly integrate them while allowing Luna alone time to decompress.

Because Luna lived her entire life in a backyard, she is not leash trained nor house broken. For that reason, she will need a foster or adopter with patience, compassion and most of all a loving hand. Luna has never experienced a loving home before.. this means that she has never been inside, on a bed, or on a couch. We are looking for a foster or adopter who can show Luna the love she deserves. Luna really needs time to decompress and trust humans.

While fostering, all of your expenses would be covered. Your only job is to provide Luna with a safe place to be.

WELCOME TO CANINE CREW DOG RESCUE!

We are a non-profit dog rescue based in Vancouver BC dedicated to rescuing dogs from high kill shelters and neglectful situations in California. Our goal is to pair loving homes with dogs in need.

Madison Dutkiewicz created Canine Crew this summer after working with a rescue based in California for a few years before COVID. Together, they were able to save over 20 dogs from euthanasia in California and adopt them into loving homes in BC. Madison is a law student, animal advocate, and dog mom to a frenchie and rescue pittie.

To stay up to date on the rescues we have available, follow our page!

If you have a moment, please share this post and/or our page, so that we can gain some traction. You can also follow us on Instagram at caninecrewbc. Visibility will help us save more dogs together! We are so looking forward to getting started. Welcome to the Crew.
