Cans 4 Cats

Good morning folks,

This is Stella, she is one of the many felines I took in a from a bad situation in the West Island a few years ago.

Stella needs to see a Vet, she needs bloodwork, she is losing weight and is barely at 6lbs.

My current Cat Credit Card is at $6800.

I continue to collect CANS/BOTTLES, wine and liquor as well. All the funds go towards these 30 felines in my care. Those bottles you put in your recycling bin, please consider holding onto them and donating them, you can help by doing so.

I have a drop off location in Vaudreuil-Dorion and in St-Zotique. I can also pick up.

Please send me a message via messenger if you have any donations, ask your friends and neighbors. I can not help others until this credit card bill is paid off.

I am currently on a trapping situation I have been working on for a few weeks, if I don’t reply instantly, I promise I will get back to you.

Vaudreuil area-

Good morning folks,

I am a volunteer for a local Cat Rescue and I have been asked if I can help a dire situation.

I need to make a screen door, this will take 7 cats, yes 7, who have lost their owner (he passed away) in from outside.

Does anyone have a screen door they are willing to give away. Or 3 straight 2x4’s or 2x3’s 8’ long, I will also need hardware cloth, not chicken wire, it must be hardware cloth (see picture).

I am going to assess this situation at 2:30pm and need to have it built today.

When you see a dirty cat:

🔺 Cats can tolerate hunger for up to a week on average, but cannot go more than 2-3 days without water.

🔺 Cats are usually very clean, they groom themselves several times a day. If you see a cat that does not look clean, it is DEHYDRATED and has been so for many days.

🔺Their saliva glands are not functioning properly because they require moisture to groom their fur.

🔺 If you see a stray cat that looks dirty, DO NOT turn the other way or see it as disgusting, because it is suffering and probably hasn't had anything to eat or drink in a long time.

🔺 Find kindness in your heart to give it food and WATER. The life of a homeless animal is not an easy one, It lives in constant fear of other animals and humans and it has never known the comfort of a soft bed or a restful sleep.

Helping a less fortunate being is the opportunity for you to become a better person and to make this a better world place.

My hope is that everyone reading this post will find it in their heart to go do something good for others who are less fortunate.

Being thankful for your good fortune is simply not enough.

Good morning facebook friends,

I just want to extend my complete gratitude to everyone who donated boxes of cat food for my cause/ my felines. I’m often overwhelmed by all the negative, disturbing, heartbreaking posts and stories I read on social media about animals being neglected, discarded, not cared for like they need and deserve. If I could step in and take them all in I would literally have thousands of felines in my care, but alas, until I win a grand lottery, this simply isn’t possible!

I’m saying a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helps any animal in need, it’s the folks that care that make a difference, regardless of how you choose to help/support them.

The world needs more heroes-

Good morning feline lovers and supporters !

I’m going to start by saying thank you to everyone that donates cans/bottles (wine and liquor as well), so many cats have been (are being) fed and sheltered but most importantly Vetted. I struggle with it daily but also do the best I can.

I am occasionally asked “why” I take them in, it’s simple, they need help and no one else will/can. I don’t have the capability to just walk away and turn a blind eye.

I get people asking me to take in their pets…almost daily , for different reasons. This is not what do, I help the homeless, the ones that are outside. Please don’t ask me to take YOUR cats, it just frustrates me.

I am tired, it is going to be a long winter with a lot of travelling between Vaudreuil and St-Zotique to continue to care for now 32 felines.

With this being said, I need some help for 3 more Tabby’s.

If you live in the Vaudreuil area and West of it and have can/bottle donations I would be grateful for the help. Financially I run at approximately $2000 monthly to feed them alone, Vetting is a huge expense also.

At the moment this exact box of Fancy Feast is on constant rotation, if you can’t find it in local stores, it’s because I buy about 150 cases a month!

Please help me help them.

When cats become lost, they usually hide, in very small spaces, and need you to search for them. Few are found at a shelter, or from Facebook posts.

Don't forget to have your FREE cat sterilized.

Average cost is approximately $350- $500. Are you ready and able to sustain this for your FREE kitten? Vaccines, deworming ect… all necessary and extra costs as well.

An animal is 15-20 years of responsibility in the same way as a child. Where will you be in 15-20 years? Be responsible, think before you say “oh but it is so cute!”

More than 2,000,000 abandonments and euthanasias per year in Quebec alone! We've been the worst in all of North America for over 10 years. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

SPAY & NEUTER your felines- we have enough kittens that will never stand a chance!!

This is our reality for the next while, freezing 🥶.

These cats that are struggling to survive outside, please help them if you can.

I know of 3 at the moment, I’m going to do my best to get them indoors.

I certainly can’t afford to feed more cats, I didn’t sleep at all knowing they are outside and struggling to stay alive.

I need to purchase another 2 door trap cage, stock up on canned food and litter.

If anyone has cans/bottles, wine and liquor as well- I would make arrangements to come pick up this cold frigid week ahead.

A break from working-

A day in the life of our cats. Sadly this weather is going to come to an end though.

I want to make the Catio accessible to them during winter, on sunny days. I want to buy clear polycarbonate panels, to make like a greenhouse. I’m on the hunt!

3lbs

Was dumped by the side of a road up North, along with others 😡😢.

Stephane Morin picked her up from his brother’s neighbours place in Rivière Rouge, they kindly brought her and another pregnant cat indoors to safety.

This little ‘Feist’ gets to hang out with us.

Fingers crossed she is healthy.

Well feline friends…

Another Christmas will come and go. It has been a strange year for most. Difficult and trying times with some good memories and accomplishments thrown in there as well, specific days I don’t care to ever remember (although images will haunt me forever). Lost loved ones, both family members, pets and friends, ultimate heartbreak 💔.

Rest in silence and comfort- Sylvie, Dad and my Mom💔

“CANS 4 CATS”- the passing of my youngest sister and father is why this was created, something my Mom and I could do TOGETHER, to get through the difficult times ahead, to keep busy and do something good with the help of others, strangers that have become friends. Some of you met my mom, we talked about the wonderful people she met often. Although my Mom is no longer with us as well, she suddenly passed away on October 26th 2021, I will continue to give my time to what her and I started…it made her SO happy. It was the goal, to make her happy and to save some feline friends.

My wish for all, HAPPINESS, peace of mind, some good fortune for everyone. May good health be a priority as life is impossible without it.

Help others when and however you can in the new year, I promise you will have no regrets. May 2022 be stress free, we can only keep trying. Life is too short for anything but...let’s hope the new year helps bring clarity and understanding.

Thank you to all the wonderful folks I have met throughout this difficult year, I’m not a social human by any means, my world revolves around my home, my animals, my tiny bubble. Complete strangers have shed much light over the past year, you know who you are♥️
