Tell me you have c**ts, without telling me you have c**ts. I'll go first 🤦🏻‍♀️ also to add to this, the gate was open last night, so Snowflake and Reign took the time to untie it, unlatch it, and then completely destroy it.

I'm not sure what I've done to deserve two little horses that have absolutely no respect for gates and walls??? Also what is going to happen when they get big??? Excuse me as I go add some Bailey's to my coffee this morning 🥴

Well, the farm is still underwater, but the horses have been inside for almost 3 days and are starting to resemble caged lions, so we are attempting turn out this morning. Pray for me 😂🥲

The bestest red girl has been on a slight hiatus recently 🐴 I recently discovered a rather large chunk of wood hiding deep down in her frog, and though she wasn't sore before I removed it, she was a bit less foot happy after it was out. I WAS tempted to stick it back in to see if that would fix her, but was advised otherwise 😂
Also she lost a baby tooth recently, which I found flung out into the aisle way, which was interesting. Also yes I am going to keep that tooth as a souvenir; if human parents get to do it and it's not creepy, then I think I as a horse parent get to do it too 😂

Just another day of traumatizing my horses! To be fair, I did not think Ruby would be concerned at all but, apparently she really really was.....until after about 10 minutes and then she was pretty over it

Aesthetically, very pleasing. Realistically, very hard to work in. I swear I can't remember ever keeping the horses inside this much, but after yet more rain and a freeze, the farm is a skating rink. Expected to go back to a mud pit next week so I guess that's better....? I'm ready for it to be July, thank you ☀️

Well, I finally had a chance to ride during the day, so I brought the Pivo out with me expecting to get some video of Ruby Tuesday, however of course she chose that day to throw the first temper tantrum of her life 😅

Usually our routine is turnout-dinner-ride, but since I had some extra time I tried for ride-turnout-dinner, and Ruby was not impressed with the change. She spent a lot of time trying desperately to get to the back arena door (that I'm sure she fully expected to open like it magically does when I'm leading her out to turnout). So we had a very long lunge for Ruby (a whole 20 minutes) followed by a quick ride where I spent most of my time not letting her bow out towards the door. The video is not impressive to watch lol, but the pictures come out cute at least! In the future I'll have to work on changing up her schedule a bit so she doesn't get too stuck in her ways.

Also I must add, it's incredibly nice to have a horse whose version of a fit is just to put her head up in the air and get wiggly, but never so much as offers to bolt or buck. Even when she's bad she's good! 🧡

Nothing quite like walking out to the barn on a Saturday morning to come face to face with a little horse that WAS tucked away in a comfy warm stall last night.... Only to open several latches and escape through a man door at some point.

Honestly stuff like this used to send my blood pressure through the roof, but now it just makes me go "Huh" and carry on with my morning feeds. No injuries , and momma horse was only minorly upset, so all well. Snowflake was VERY pleased with himself, so that's nice 😂

I realize I have not kept up with posting about the horses at all, so here is a photo of Ruby looking just super cute!

The weather in Southern Ontario this year is a nightmare and keeping me more than busy, but that's how it goes! I'll be looking forward to a relaxing day off in August 😅 maybe 😂

Well , Reign decided to carry on his mother's tradition of putting a foot through a metal wall last week. He managed to cut down to an artery, which was an absolute blood bath, and inspired a rather panicked call to the vet.
Now a week(and a course of antibiotics) later he is healing well, but the wound is still quite open, so I have become a master at making bandage booties so he can go out for a romp, even with all the December mud. Yes , that is a sock covered in duct tape (not pictured is the pad soaked in honey on the wound, followed by a whole roll of vet wrap). But it works, so leave me be 😂 made it extra festive with a Christmas sock today, so happy holidays I guess??

👻🎃 Happy Halloween from your favourite ghost horse and her pumpkin-headed owner! 🎃👻

This was one of my most favourite and stupid ways to spend an afternoon, and Ruby was an absolute champ putting up with all of my shenanigans. The sheet over the head was a concern for about 30 seconds, until she realized she was going to be extremely spoiled with treats the entire time. She was also very interested in trying to eat my pumpkin head (which was constantly also falling off). A very very brave baby horse 😂
