Northern Cardinal
Spoiling myself recreating a gorgeous photo taken by Bill Tiepelman. A lovely Northern Cardinal. I tossed between using drafting film or pastelmat. Decided I wanted to include a background and went with pastelmat. Pastelmat has alot of grain to it. Its a board Colored pencil artists ethier Love or absolutely hate ( its my favorite π₯°). The grain allows for endless layers. However if that's not needed... take out a blending stump. Works like a charm π
Colored Pencil portrait. BUDDY.β€
Alot of hidden colors in this "white" coat π₯° I can not get over how relaxing drawing Buddy's frizzy hair is! π₯° The slice tool, kneadable eraser & Scotch tape are used to create buddy's fur texture. The life saver is the kneadable eraser! Why? Well because my little one climbed to the portrait and placed her own masterpiece right over buddy's face.π¬
* scribble scribble.
Thankfully she used my pencils and not crayons because she did alot in a short period of time. Definitely faster than mom π
After gently lifting it away with the kneadable eraser there was no damage and less redo. What a turkey. I'll have to really watch that one π§πβ€
