This black Angus is framed and ready for Auction! I made this portrait with The Wiberg family in mind. The Wibergs are a family of hard working Black Angus cattle ranchers. Tara has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Tara and Mathew are raising two beautiful children together. All proceeds go to the The Wiberg Family during this difficult time. Please click on the first picture for further details on how you can help or take part in this fundraising event! Thank you !

Original " Bad Hair day" 22x28 inch frame will be part of the Auction.

Angus cows have a special place in my heart. They were always a part of my life growing up as my parents ranched Angus cattle. The cattle runs, calving season, separating were always busy times and difficult work. However it wasn't all work and no play alot of great opportunities came along with ranching like having a bottle fed baby which was usually always called "Baby"( creative I know). And having the opportunity to show cattle and join 4H. I was fortunate enough to have some well mannered 4H steers and heifers growing up. One in particular was named Abby. Abby of course was a pretty black angus heifer. She was a perfect show heifer. If you've never shown or watched a show I'll inform you that ALOT of grooming shaving, hairspray and polish is used to get the cattle show ready. I'm talking hours of preparation. One area in particular, the forlock ( bangs) gets extra attention and is sprayed upright into a high point. After months of training feeding and spoiling Abby her show day came and was successfully completed. I was so excited to watch her run back into the herd we went straight to the pasture after the show. Her running off will always be a fond memory. A week later I was able to reconize her from a distance because in all my excitement I forgot to wash out her hair before releasing herπŸ˜…. She had an elaborate hair style for days. Cow hair has always amused me since . If you pay attention you'll notice you can actually reconize a cow by their unique bang style. Every cow has their own unique hairline and forlock. This one is titled
" Bad Hair Day" and she's ready for auction! I hope you like her as much as I enjoyed recreating her πŸ₯°

Completed my first ever oil painting
12x24 inch oil on canvas. "Home"

We do not have mountains on the praries however we have one gorgeous prarie skyline! Anyone who lived or visited our flatlands will reconize this sky. It has the ability to stop us from our busy lives to admire nature's colorful creation. I absolutely love the vibrant colors in this piece. This is still wet and needs to fully dry before varnish.

A few drawings completed in colored pencil to end 2023. One of my 2024 goals is to dabble in oil paints . It's nice to experiment and learn new mediums. It will be quit the learning curve but I'm up for a creative challenge. Oil painting has always been a medium I've wanted to try but was waiting for the right time. Excited for what 2024 has to offer. Wishing everyone a Happy New year!

WIP. Challenging myself with a bay. The color combinations on a shiny bay horse blows my mind 🀯. I do find them overwhelming. Is that more pink ..red ....orange... yellow? Knowing I do this and stare at the piece way too long. I decided to always pick the color that feels right.
At the end of the day everyone's eyes see color differently. Why over think it? ! Just enjoy the process.

It was so relaxing drawing a horse ! I may have to do a full body horse next πŸ€”. Yes I think I might 😊 I love how this one turned out! Alot of dark indigo, walnut brown and caput mortuum violet were used to create that dark rich coat.
