We got our histogram results and are very happy with our 2023 girls’ number!

For those of you who are not familiar, a histogram is an analysis of a fibre sample. This sample is taken from the midsize of the animal. This is a small portion of the whole fleece but gives good information about fineness, consistency, length and more!

We use this as a tool to help pick breeding partners and track how our alpacas fibre is changing as they age.

We were also happy with the rest of the ladies too!

We waited 382 days for this little guy to show up. His colour was a surprise but he’s a healthy and active. We can’t wait to watch him grow!

Day 379
Her tail was up a bit mire yesterday. Perhaps eating a bit more the past couple day. Her t***s have been engorged for a while… will today be the day ? Time will tell. Or will savanna have her baby first? She is on day 364 🙃

This is Miss Lily. Last year she gave us our little Nutmeg at 315 days! She is now on day 355 and we are still waiting! Come on Lily, we want to meet this new baby! ( she was bred to stud Pystol so I am very excited to merely this little one!!!)
