Hello, friends.
I apologize for not having updated this page in such a long time, but there have been some things going on around here.
Sugar, Scotty and Scarlett are all fine, as you can see from the pictures. I can usually find them in a big kitty pile on the bed at least once a day.
They have had some changes to adapt to in the last two months, though. My husband, Peter, passed away on November 14. He was taken to hospital by ambulance on October 19 after a heart attack and he never made it back home. Although part of me knew this would happen someday, I never expected the someday to be so soon.
His weak heart meant that he was very rarely gone from the house, so he was a constant in the kids’ lives. I would often leave my home office on my afternoon break and find Peter resting on the bed accompanied by one, two or all cats.
Although I obviously can’t read their minds, it seems to me like they know something happened. I don’t doubt they miss him horribly.
So, that’s what’s been going on here. I will do my best to post more often as things find their way to a new normal.
