Grace's CARE; Catch And Release Effort - A paw lending a paw. Our plan is to offer weekly group dog walks, designed to raise money and awareness to help correct the stray cat population in our community. Dogs helping cats!) The walks will be open to anyone with or without a dog, will run weekly and will be about an hour long. We will be asking members to make a monetary donation of their choosing that will be used to catch, spay/neuter and release the stray cats in our neighborhood. This is a great way to prevent unwanted litters and the spread of disease and parasites to our pet cats. We think this is a great opportunity to get our butts off the couch, stay active and have some fun with some like minded friends. Its great socialization for us and our furry friends and it's a great way to help the community we all love so much. Be sure to read the Rules Of The Walk below and check the event page weekly for details! We really hope you'll join us! Rules Of The Walk:
1. Clean up after your dog at all times. If you do not have a bag, ask another member. This is an absolute must.
2. Do introductions properly and only with permission of the other pet owner. If you are unsure what to do, just ask me! :) We have all kinds of dogs with all kinds of personalities. While you may think it is cute that Fido approaches a strange dog and licks their face because "he just wants to say hi", the other dog may not think it is cute. Just think - if you were sitting in the park minding your business would you want a stranger to jump into your lap and french kiss you? Because that is what Fido just did :). So the initial greeting is always nose to butt and controlled. Again if you are unsure how to do this, just ask.
3. Keep control of your dog at all times - no flexi leads or extendable leashes unless in a short and locked position. Remember just because you think it is cute for Fido to be running 10 feet ahead of you, does not mean that the other dogs are going to like it. They may see your dog as a threat, or as prey. Either way, there may be a negative interaction
4. Remember to bring along a small donation.
5. Have fun. The walks are a lot of fun for both you and your dogs.
