Today is Blanche's Birthday!
She's feeling sad and confused since her big sister Fiona never came home.

Today was Daisy's 7th birthday!
She is an honorary member of our family. She stays with us for a month at a time twice a year. We are on our 5th year and she comes all the way from Mississauga to Whitby. Yes, that is baby Stormy.

Fun fact about a Westies coat (West Highland Terrier- a Scottish breed).
They have a unique care guide for their wiry- double layered coat.
Stripping is traditional for preserving the correct coat texture, but clipping is a common alternative. The more it's clipped the softer it will become but more susceptible for burrs and debris to get stuck and tangle. Stripping allows the dead, dull fur to be removed allowing the healthy fur to shine through. Groomers can use tools to strip, Tessa is hand stripped, the more traditional way.

I learned about this watching a Scottish dog show at a Scottish festival this past summer. Tessa's mom reminded me of it during a conversation, and I couldn't help but notice her fresh groom when I picked her up today.
