Kira is ready and looking for a loving home!

She is 17 weeks old but petite
She is a snuggler and a good playmate.
Good with kids and cats, has briefly been introduced to dogs and will warm up to them with little time.
She has had her first set of vaccines and will be spayed, boostered, and microchipped mid-September

Jimmy Flea (James) is ready to find his furever home!!
Who doesn't love gingers? :)

He LOVES kids and food, has not been introduced to dogs but is young enough to come around, and is good with other cats.
He is 10-11 weeks old, has received his first vaccines, and will have boosters with his neuter and microchip in a few weeks.

Welcome to rescue, Ellie.

Ellie was found in the entryway / cart area at Wiarton Foodland and brought in today.

She's had a bath to get all the oil, grease, and fleas out, but we'll need to do a more thorough bath when she's feeling better.

She also has an upper respiratory infection
She is in quarantine in our new temporary quarantine setup. It is small, but has hydro, insulation, & ventilation.

Today's find:
A Goose.

Well, her (?) name is Goose.
She was spotted in Lion's Head and found someone safe to follow.

She is very clean, does not smell like barn, no sign of fleas, but does have a bit of an upper respiratory infection going on, so she is taking now flea-free James' spot in quarantine and should be better in no time.
The photo is post eye drops, which is why she looks a little extra pathetic 🥹

We'd love to have a well- insulated and heatable quarantine spot for ones like this who show up in colder weather, if anyone has a suitable bunkie they'd like to donate🤞to help the local animals recover in safety and comfort.

Henry 😍 is looking for a loving home!

Henry was found in a barn wrapped up in twine with his sister. Unfortunately Sadie was much smaller than her brother and passed away.

Henry is now 12 weeks old and ready to find his furever home. He's good with kids, cats, not exposed to dogs but young enough to come around.
Henry will be neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Lucky got checked out today and sure has found her strength! She's a little spicy 🌶
We thought she was bitey from pain, but it turns out she's just semi feral.
She loves to be pet but will bite when picked up.

She will be lightly sedated so bloodwork can be done tomorrow.
Not knowing her history, we'd like to be sure she's not bringing in anything contagious.

A little bit of first aid knowledge came in handy on Saturday evening. Dr Richard had told me years ago to rub honey on gums in case of hypoglycemic seizure. After about a teaspoon of honey and some wet food, she became more alert, and was desperate for more food. We rationed her food intake but it was a good sign that she had an appetite!

Hopefully it's all sunshine and butterflies from here on for this Lucky little lady. ☀️🦋

Teensy 4 week old Po (short for Pocket, as many of you suggested!), is doing awesome
He graduated from our bathroom to the cat bunkie this morning and is fitting in great with the older kids.
He will be looking for a furever home in just over a month!

Goodbye Gemma 😞

Gemma was surrendered to us in 2020 due to a painful tumor on her foot that resulted in amputation.
She was adopted by an absolutely wonderful family who provided her with the best medical care post-adoption.
Unfortunately Gemma recently began refusing to eat, which as you may be able to tell from her photos, was very unlike her. Her abnormal bloodwork only got worse and the decision had to be made to not allow her to suffer.
Gemma fought a good fight, as did her committed family.

You'll be missed, sassy lady!
