I’m trying my hand at growing Salpiglossis again this year. An old fashioned plant with an odd name.. I have the Cafe Au Lait variety which I think could be quite a unique color, (maybe Pantone Mocha Mousse vibes?). I came across this article with some great tips so.. fingers crossed I can also have 5ft plants.

My last post, (which was surprisingly this past February) proves not only how busy I’ve been, but how time can fly by. First, just...

January's almost over, the days are wonderfully longer, and spring feels like it's just hovering on the horizon, despite the glimpse of winter out our windows. Are you ready to THINK GARDENING?!

Mark your calendar for this upcoming event - Williams Lake Seedy Saturday, happening on Saturday, March 15th, 10 AM till 2 PM at the TRU Gym, 1250 Western Ave, Williams Lake.

This will be a traditional-style Seedy Saturday, and it will be a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come and check out the info booths, browse the seeds and indoor plants for sale, find some seedy treasures on the "freebie" table, and maybe drop off some of your home-collected and extra seeds to share. (House plant extras welcome, too!)

There will be workshops and discussion panels, great food at the concession fundraiser, and a vendor corner with local farm, food & artisan folk.

We are happy to be co-hosting this event with the Central Cariboo Community Food Hub, with support from the Williams Lake Garden Club, Seeds of Diversity Canada, the Cariboo Seed Project, and legacy sponsorship from the Williams Lake Food Policy Council.

More details coming out in the next few weeks.

And in case you're wondering, we will still be hosting our season starter SeedLING Saturday & Earlybird Farmers' Market on Saturday, May 3rd, followed by the start of the Friday Market season on May 9th.

It’s the end of fresh flower season for 2024. Definitely a year of ups and downs, probably one of the most challenging growing seasons so far, but I guess it keeps me on my toes. Thank you to all of my supporters along the way this year. Without you I wouldn’t be able to keep on keeping on. PS I’m not sure if this little one is going to continue on in my footsteps but he certainly has an entrepreneurial spirit worth rooting for.

Well we were thoroughly bewitched by last night’s market! Thank you to everyone who came to see us at our booth, and an extra thank you to Resting Witch Face and Witch Craft Designs for creating this wonderful event. It was a sell out night for us but I’d love to know what you’d like me to bring to next year’s market 😉. I’d personally love to expand the Witch’s Garden offerings. .
Btw.. what is with teens these days!? Sheesh .. so full of compliments and nice things to say! Aw it warmed my heart 💜 such a great group of people last night.

The countdown is on! I only do one market a year and this is it. Bewitching market Saturday 4-9.See you there 🧙🎃

This was such a fun project!
Check out the exhibit at The Station House Gallery
If you have been, which portrait was your favourite?
I might be biased to a few 😜

Well that was a wild week between the setup and final touches on my exhibition "Through the Looking Glass" at the The Station House Gallery and the Cariboo Wedding & Grad Show! I can finally get back in to the office and edit some projects. Thanks to everyone who came to the opening and visited my table! I'll get better at public speaking one day... or not.

Just a reminder I have paid sessions booking on Nov 2 and 16th for your choice of an 8x10 clear glass plate ambrotype or a tintype. You will also receive a high resolution scan for print and the web. You can book those sessions through https://book.squareup.com/classes/pig9c0uinzx5gc/location/LW646GSDY9D88/classes?fbclid=IwY2xjawFu0dZleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHQRiG1JVkrSlAXfALwH8fgBb1vXqX28q0CG10LYFtV6coPMEIenjcQbG2g_aem_nJKacj5qo3N8zxyxZ1PWgA

Gift certificates will be available in December but due to one off bookings, chemical prep and time for singular shoots these will be priced higher than the November session bookings.

Attached is one of the images you'll find at the gallery. Dried flower crown created by Fox Flowers on Fetters and is now a piece for use at the studio as long as I can take care of it properly! Stop by the The Station House Gallery and check it out in person. Also on display is the 1920's Kodak Studio camera I used to shoot this exhibition and what I will be using to shoot your bookings.

The glass used for bookings will be much thinner than the plates at the gallery, I was using an 8x10 film holder that I had to cut apart. I have a fancy new plate holder getting shipped in that will be much easier to use and protect the plates better. Really looking forward to trying it out.

I need your help.. I’m putting some feelers out there to determine interest in pumpkin arrangements for thanksgiving this year. I am not overly optimistic on my flowers making it to mid October without being hit by frost, it’s been chilly out there! So.. I need to plan ahead. There are a few options: fresh pumpkins, ceramic, or dried in ceramic. I will of course be offering the mini dried pumpkins again this year, mainly available at the Bewitching Market on October 12 at the TRU gym. Please comment or send me a PM if you would like to preorder, or head to my stories for a quick poll, it would really help me out! Thank you and happy fall y’all 🍁

From here on out every night without frost is a blessing. I want to keep everything blooming, I don’t want to say goodbye but at the same time I am tired. Burnout is real at this time of year.. anyone else feeling it too?
