Better late than never on my announcements I promised last week!

Many have asked, so we will deliver! I'm excited to announce we'll be offering the NASDA Online Lost Item Challenge again in conjunction with King Dog Sports Club! Last year we had a great time and if my memory serves correctly around 60 titles were earned by teams all over BC! The title rosettes were beautiful and unique - I'll post some pictures of them in the comments shortly!

As well, to wrap up the year, a NASDA league (in 150 Mile House) will be offered between November 24th and December 15th. 3 Trials offered and there are not set dates of the week quite yet...I will send out a poll/survey to gauge interest but in all likelihood, the Lost Item and Urban Locate will be held indoors at my training location weekday evenings (either Tuesday or Thursday - not determined quite yet) and hoping to fit in shed and trail & locate on weekends when we'll have daylight.

Happy Halloween!

Dogs are put away with things to chew and the kitty is safely crated so he doesn't visit with trick or treaters (he loves the crate so don't feel sorry for him)

Stay safe everyone!

Brag post for my super dogs! Most of my Fall competition plans have not panned out due to ever changing hockey schedules (both of my kids ref and play so very often my husband is out of town with one and I hold down the fort!)

But! We were able to squeeze in a small NASDA trial in Kersley last weekend. Rill is coming off a back injury she had in August so that was exciting - she earned her Level 2 Urban Locate title and ran 9 runs. Coulee ran 18 runs, several at level 3 which requires some stamina! Most of the runs the dogs were handled by my 11 year old daughter and she earned the placement flat ribbons (I don't keep track of those haha!)

There is more NASDA fun coming to wrap up 2025 so stayed tuned for an exciting post tomorrow!

In anticipation of having a warmer inside place to train over the winter, I'm considering applying for a NASDA league for late November and the first couple weeks of December. Urban Locate and Lost Item would be indoors and could be evenings and we could do weekends for shed and trail & locate (but would have to be a bit flexible to work around hockey schedules). If you're interested comment below! Or if you have a weekday evening that absolutely won't work I want to hear that too!

Happy Ratters won't be happening until possibly December (could do a one day weekend trial, or evening trial) and I'm hoping to do a league in January!

Construction zone!

Very exciting news! Some of you may recognize this corner of my indoor training studio and I'm super excited to say that the walls are coming down so it can be insulated properly and be used full time in the winter months (and hopefully cooler in the summer as well)!

So what does this mean for classes/services?

Group Classes: I'm currently running a couple of evening group classes (Puppy Start Right and Life Skills and Manners) and those are continuing to go ahead in the daylight outside in the agility field and I'm taking waitlists for scent detection classes, tricks, and ratting/barn hunt with tentative start dates for the beginning of November. We still don't quite have the kids hockey practice schedule yet but classes will definitely be Tuesdays, Thursdays and possibly Mondays.

Workshops/events: In the next couple of weeks, I hope to be able to schedule some intro to scent detection and intro to scent sport workshops for mid-late November and hopefully a couple of NASDA/Happy Ratters trials and/or leagues through to the end of the year.

Private Lessons: I am still offering in-home consultations and private lessons (in the Williams Lake immediate area) and am taking a wait list for 1-2 students looking for day training to begin late October. Private lessons are also offered virtually! I have students from Bella Coola, Vancouver Island, and Northern BC - where it may be difficult to travel to or find in-person instruction.

I am super excited to soon have an indoor year round space for lessons and hope to also expand my canine massage services to be offered in this studio, as well as canine conditioning and fitness!

Links so you can sign up for my waitlists will be posted soon

Hello antler searching and vermin locating friends!

My schedule is still so up in the air while hockey is starting (both of my kids play and they both ref now too!) with figuring out final schedules for the season but I'm able to fit in a practice session tomorrow before I'm at the rink pretty much all afternoon/evening LOL

When: 10am Sunday September 28th
Cost: $25/dog (limited to 5 dogs)
What: Practice session for shed antler hunting and/or ratting. We can practice skills, just let your dog have some fun, or set up runs for video entries (through NASDA) for Level 1/2 shed and urban or urban specialty. New teams welcome!

Let me know ASAP if you're joining us!
