Enjoy days 3 and 4 of training progress of who I can now announce with the name “Ome the Boov” aka Boov. Inspired by one of my all time favourite animation movies based on trust called “Home” his name is after the character “Oh!” It suits him very well if you’ve seen the movie!

I gave the experience of the tag removal to a very awesome student of mine, who’s one of the big reasons I have footage to share with you. She’s always eager to help video and give me a hand so I thought what better way to get his first touches by someone else done and have her get to experience a tag removal! She did a fabulous job and listened very well to my directions to get his first touches done by a different set of hands super proud of both of them.

My dog had her puppies last night so unfortunately he’s gotten the day or so off so I can catch up on sleep but please stay tuned in a couple days for the next time I’m able to work him!

Day 1/2 Accomplishments:

✅ haltered twice
✅leads
✅send him out and have him walk into join me
✅braids
✅can be touched all over
✅lead back to his stall
✅lead outside the pen and around the outside of the arena
✅sprays with spray bottle
✅met the saddle pad

I lost a lot of good footage of the first touches and haltering unfortunately that were on the good camera so most of the beginning is what I was able to throw together from just the iPhone footage!

Will hopefully have day 3 and todays video out soon! I still have yet to name and take his tag off but I will push myself to decide on his name today and get that darn thing off of him!

“It was only just a dream”

Starting 2022 not letting anything get in my way…no matter what challenges are getting thrown at me this is MY time, surrounding myself with the people who are backing me and pushing me forward no matter how many steps I may fall back at times. This is MY time baby and I couldn’t be more proud of who I’m allowing myself to become. If you would’ve asked me two years ago my perception on myself was not it, oh how I’ve challenged myself to grow. Believe in yourself people back yourself and work harder then you ever thought was possible. Greatness is an arms length away, reach out and grab it.

Forever thankful for those who saw something in me when I didn’t see something in myself. It is for you I’m pushing myself harder then ever before. Wherever you are in life there’s always room to grow and sometimes you have to realize your stuck in a spot where you need to make quite a bit of change to your life to get there, close one door and open 6 more! Change is as good as you make it. Change allows growth.

May I get one step closer to my greatness this year as I wish the same to all! ❤️

*DAY 6*

Okay I promise I’m posting an update video tonight!!! It’s day 6 and I will include everything since the last video I posted but he’s doing fabulous! I just want to come on and say since posting the first video I had a lot of great feedback and I can’t thank everyone enough. I also want to say I’ve got a lot of messages from people thinking it’s a great idea for them to get and gentle their very own mustang like they’re Amy from Heartland or something and while adopting a mustang is awesome I suggest maybe adopting a gentled one from a TIP trainer first. I just want to say this is very very dangerous what I do. I wish I could post more of the bad parts but my video gets banned and taken down if I do. So please please don’t unless you really know what you’re in for. Its a big step going from training a 6 month old QH baby ground manners. I don’t know how many times I’ve been caught crawling out of a 6 and a half foot tall galvanized round pen from being charged, striked at, kicked etc.

First big adventure out of the round pen for Mustang 8515 aka Nevarro. Tonight we explored the rest of the arena. I’ve been confident enough leading him the last 2 days that I moved my round pen to the middle of the arena so it’s a longer walk from his stall into the round pen but today we walked outside the round pen instead of just going directly from the stall to the round pen. He did fantastic and here’s just 2 pics of the first really good cry he gave me I was over the moon with him. Honestly he leads better then most of my dumb-bloods already and we are only on like day 4 or something! I just want everyone to know although I’m posting the good right now he has been challenging it’s not been just a walk in the park with him...I’ve been bit, almost kicked, charged on numerous occasions, and striked at lmao but I finally feel on the same page with him. We had a huge moment of trust today and his personality is starting to come out! Love you Nevarro❤️❤️ I will post videos as soon as I edit footage together! @ Sand Cherry Stables

Mounted Archery🏹 ✅

I’ve got a pretty good shot when it comes to archery so really working on my mare and different types of shots off her, like side, behind, and in front and then we touch it up at a trot, lope and gallop. Definitely more of a challenge when you’re approaching your target with speed but it’s a great challenging type of fun! Feels pretty bad ass if I don’t say so myself lol 😝

Hard to believe I picked this Friesian mare up on Friday as a completely unhalter broke mare...yes that’s right we had to run her onto my open trailer unhaltered to get her home. She tested me with all that Friesian stubbornness and attitude at the start but glad to say we are completely over that behaviour and ready to turn into a wonderful all around riding horse! She has started to love and trust me so much! She’s officially started under saddle and I’m obsessed with her! I think she’s going to make someone’s dream horse!! Russian Roulette aka Roulette or Rue🥰❤️ I think it’s safe to say I’ve won over the trust of this red mare!! Finally!! She’s been a challenge so far but honestly she’s a completely changed horse in a matter of no time and I completely trust her with anyone on her back at this point. I’m so excited to see what we can do together now that she’s accepted me on her terms lol. Win the heart of a mare and you’re golden BUT win the heart of a RED mare and you’re even more golden😜❤️

Look at this 4yr old QH gelding!! Harry Potter is officially started undersaddle! He is definitely going to be a horse everyone is going to want when im done with him. His second official training session and you would think he’s been doing it his whole life. The transformation already with a little bit of work is unreal. He’s already changed into such a very respectful horse in the matter of no time. Very pleased with him. He’s definitely going to be the horse everyone is going to want to have. Mr. Potter now lunges, flex’s both sides, lowers his head, yields his haunches and turns on the forehand, ground ties, picks up his feet, drags the tarp, walks over the tarp, carries the tarp on his back, saddles and bridles no problem and now after this evening had his first ride on him! This is why I love what I do!!! Not bad for session number 2 I’d say, I’m so pleased. What a fantastic little boy. Nothing but great things to say about this guy, I see such a bright future ahead for this guy!

for my Willow pony! Such a good quiet pony! Not phased by anything. Seriously the perfect all around pony and does it all!! Most easy going pony. She’s pretty much a horse trapped in a ponies body. No ponytude and a great little packer!! Little schooling off property today and of course she was a gem 💎❤️

Here’s the new guy on his first training session today! This is Reggie and he is a 2yr old! He’s not been handled much and did not lead well at the beginning of our session. By the end he was walking over tarps! Can’t wait to see what his future holds! And can’t wait to see him grey out!!!😍😍

Never when I picked up this pony did I think this would ever be possible in such short amount of time....Daisy came and was quickly given the name Hellcat by Steph Clift it’s safe to say I’ve transformed your typical and average “pony” behaviour into a dream pony to work with! Daisy was hardly handled when she arrived. It’s now safe to say, she is coming along nicely and I can’t believe this is only our 6th ever ride together! Finally over the rearing and trying to put up a fight with me when she doesn’t get her way and it honestly feels great!
