Tiny Tim is officially up for adoption!

Timmy is a sweet 3 year old shih tzu/JRT that was rescued from a terrible situation, however you could never tell. Timmy is a sweet boy who just wants your love and attention. He absolutely adores walks and to just lay and nap with you during the day while you hang out. Timmy likes to play with other dogs but doesn't require another dog in the home. He would do great with someone that is home most of the time but is also crate trained and has no issues being in the crate while you're at work.

Timmy especially enjoys sleeping with you at night under the covers! with the cold weather, he has been wearing hoodies and is perfectly content wearing them all the time. Timmy does have some food allergies we are trying to narrow down but he has no health concerns.

We couldn't be more proud of little basil!

In just over a week in his new foster home he is making huge strides! Today basil made the choice to go on a car ride with his foster family. They are amazing for allowing basil to make choices on his own without ever forcing an interaction.

He is wanting to trust them despite his past. Something so small is a huge step for a dog like basil. I am so excited to see what his future holds.

This handsome lad is looking for a barn/shop home.

He is friendly but has behavioral bathroom issues (will not use a litter box) and all health issues have been ruled out by a vet.

All attempts at correcting this issue have failed.

He is neutered/chipped and vaccinated.

He was treated for an infection as well.

There is no fee but we are always grateful for a donation towards his vet bills.

Please send us a message if you have a warm shop/barn and can provide him with his basic needs.

Sweet shylo is ready to find that perfect home.

She is funny, sweet and her love for other dogs is unmatched.

Shylo the once feral dog is now loving being the pampered house pooch. She is still timid but has learned that as long as she has a dog buddy with her, the rest of the world isn't so scary.

She loves car rides, walks, swimming and playing. She's so silly and full of life.

Shylo is looking for a patient family who is willing to take a chance on a mid sized underdog. One who is often overlooked because she doesn't love the way others do right away.

Shylo would love a secure yard but not necessarily a deal breaker. However shylo MUST have another dog in the home. She is good with cats and would be ok with teens who could respect her boundaries.

We are unsure of her exact mix but she looks like a shepherd/husky/corgi.

She's medium energy

I'm saddened to have to post this.

It has come to our attention that there has been some very misleading information spread around amongst local pages for a fundraising auction.

I want to be publicly clear we are in no way affiliated/support or endorsed "Kali's place rescue" out of Drayton. It has been brought to our attention that this "rescue" has been using our name to gather donations under false pretenses.

This includes food donations from stores. I am unsure of what stores have all been made to believe that she is a rescue but she is not in fact a rescue by any means.

Please if you have donated please let me know! We will be having this delt with accordingly.

When we in fact have an auction and collect donations we will be posting on our page with contacts of who will be running it.

Please know this auction will NOT be in support of misfits rescue.

Clifford, our beautiful landseer (Newfoundland dog) is officially looking for his forever home!

Clifford is good with all dogs outside the home and females inside the home. For this reason he would do best as the only dog in the home.

He is wonderful with kids but please remember he is a very large dog and can accidentally knock small children over. Clifford is fine with indoor cats.

Clifford is a 1.5 year old male who is healthy as a horse. He is learning leash manners and doing well with it. Clifford is fine off leash in rural areas and would be fine on a farm.

How is this amazing girl still here?

Princess is such an amazing girl, just wants to please her people. She came to us 5 months ago in a sad state after another "rescue" failed to provide her with the most basic of care.

Princess has come a long way since then. She has gained some much needed weight and is eagerly looking for a home.

She is great with kids too! She can get along with dogs with proper introductions but prefers to be the only dog.

She is good with cats inside the home but may chase outdoor ones.

Skye is growing, learning and just taking the world by storm!

She has had a few applications but not one followed through, what's the deal?
Skye is 3.5 months old now, and has grown up in care. She faced many hurdles but now has a clean bill of health.

We are uncertain as to her exact mix but believe she is some kind of shepherd/bully mix. Skye was found at the side of the road at a few weeks old with her siblings.

Unfortunately her brother chase wasn't as lucky as her. Skye is a fighter and will continue to show the world what she is made of.

Skye is good with kids, cats and dogs.

We just can't understand how these sisters are still looking for their homes!

Anna and Elsa are such amazing well balanced pups with such a joy for life.

They are about 4 months old, good with small children, cats, dogs and other critters too! We are unsure of their mix but they are definitely a combination of a few breeds from northern Ontario.

As much as we love them it's time for them to find their homes!

Anna is fostered in Stratford, Elsa is fostered in bluevale. .

Sweet Molly has never had an inquiry, let alone an application!

This amazing girl wants nothing more than to love. She is still nervous of new experiences but learning to take them with stride.

She is good with other dogs but is still learning how to be a normal dog. Poor Molly came from a horrific home of abuse and neglect. She had parvo on intake and managed to survive.

This girl is a warrior and nothing will stop her from having her best life.

Molly is about a year and a half, guessed to be a nova scotian duck toller/ lab mix.

She loves kids and people but cats are a no for this girl. Molly is looking for an amazing home to help teach her the ropes.

Some of you may remember Mary.

She was the poor girl in the last photo on the right. She was so incredibly afraid but despite it all, she was so gentle.

Mary is still timid but likes people who get down on her level. She loves kids, cats and dogs. But you need to be careful as she will eat toys laying around.

Mary needs a fenced yard and someone patient enough to come out of her shell.

10 week old Skye is officially available for adoption!

This poor girl has had a very rough start to life. From being dumped in a box, to fighting infection and is officially in the clear and healthy!

Skye is an absolute love bug, busy and so full of life!

She is great with kids, cats and dogs. She is crate trained and doing awesome with house training.

12 week old Anna is living her best life and learning so much!

Anna is a northern mix breed likely a bit of husky and shepherd sprinkled in there, but her wire haired makes it anyone's guess!

He's a 1 year old mini Aussie/Chihuahua mix

His skin and eye infections have healed, he's gained some weight and learned some life skills.

We are saddened to announce we are officially closed for intakes.

Due to the lack of foster homes, drivers, volunteers, sponsors and adoptions as a whole we have to sadly make this tough decision.

We hope to be able to welcome more soon but have to ensure the ones in our care currently are taken care of and we don't burn out the precious volunteers we do have.

Koda is still looking for that forever home too!

Adoptions are at an all time low and so many of these beautiful faces are just not finding their happy ever afters.

Koda is looking for a home where she can be the center of the world. She gets along with other dogs but struggles when they play and she is easily overwhelmed. For this reason we're asking for an only dog home.

She has met cats but hasn't lived with them since in our care. She is likely ok with them on proper introductions and time.

Koda is as loyal as they come! She is very gentle with kids and loves with all of her heart.

Need a dog who's up for playing hockey or soccer with the kids? Koda is your gal!

Parker has been in care over a year now, he really deserves a home of all his own.

He is dog friendly, older kids are fine but little ones may be a bit much for him.

Parker is crate trained, medium energy and fairly quiet. He absolutely cannot be off leash and is a fence jumper. Condos/townhomes would be fine for him.

Poco is still looking for his forever home.

He is a sweet, happy go lucky fella with a joy for life. Poco has shown some resource guarding but minor. For that reason we are saying no young children for this guy!

Tukka is another one of our dogs who has been waiting a long time for that perfect home.

She is the sweetest little cuddle bug. She loves adventure and her people so much. Tukka is good with other dogs with proper intros but struggles with on leash meetings (some leash reactivity)

Tukka doesn't like young kids and finds them scary. Teens would be ok! She is good with cats with proper introductions as well.

She has always been overlooked and has now spent over a year with us. She is such an incredible almost 2 year old dog who would make an incredible addition to that perfect family.

Artimis update:

Sweet artimis is one of our behavioral cases we have worked with for a very long time. He is afraid and insecure. As such he struggles with leash reactivity, over stimulation happening very easily and a fight response when he feels threatened.

The poor boy has been struggling with severe allergies, and for a boy that can't cope with vet visits to any degree, this has been so very challenging. His skin is finally healing and he once again is feeling his normal self.

During this time arti has also been attending a remedial class with our friends at Mapleton Bark and while some days were better than others, he definitely did way better than I could have hoped.

When artimis is great, he is absolutely incredible. Artimis is silly, cuddly, playful and has a joy for life. He cares so much for cats and even the tiniest of kittens. He's always the first to greet any newcomers to our cat program, even if just for a night until they go for foster.

So many have said to give up on him, he's not worth the time. But you see, to us he is. Artimis may not be perfect but with a little management he is perfect to us. He may not be the easiest to find a home for but that makes us fight for him even harder.

We all deserve second chances, and these dogs are no exception.

Tonight artimis graduated his first class and we know it's just the start.

I just don't get it, poor Bobby has never had an application!

Bobby is all things good in the world.

He is absolutely happy and about 1.5-2 years old. He loves other dogs, people and everything in life. He is pure joy!

Through no fault of his own Bobby and his son ended up in a rural shelter where he was transferred to us due to kennel stress.

Bobby hasn't been cat tested but he likely is fine with proper intros.

So Clifford has officially requested that his new home continues to take him to our friends at Syd's Barkin Beauties

He looks and smells like a million bucks!

Grooming is so important, especially for long coated breeds. Like always Clifford was a complete gentleman and was an absolute dream to work with.

We can't thank Sydney enough for getting rid of all those matts and filth he had. Once again she came to the rescue!

This is urgent please share. We need an immediate foster home for Savanah as her foster home has flooded.

She just recently had dental surgery done and her belly was shaved as she had a skin bacteria that needed treatment. (It’s not contagious) She is super human friendly & loves everyone … however she MUST BE THE ONLY ANIMAL.

She is not good with other animals. She has bad arthritis in her back leg she just got her monthly injection to help with pain.

Savanah just loves to be with her people and is a wonderful girl. She’s great with kids too. We need help asap for a safe placement for her.

Molly came when the snow was falling. She has watched it melt and the flowers begin to blossom. As the seasons changed she basked in the warmth of the summer sun and is now watching the leaves turn into all of those beautiful colors.

We're sure glad she's experiencing these things, especially after her battle with parvo that she beat on intake. However she should be doing this with a family she can call her own.

No one has ever inquired about this beautiful girl, and we just can't figure out why? She is beautiful, brains and just the nicest girl.

Molly gets along with other dogs and kids. Molly is unfortunately not good with small animals including cats. We are desperate to find her a home of her own where she can be cherished and loved like she deserves.

It's been a long time coming, but we would like to officially welcome butters!

This tiny little Chihuahua mix is absolutely adorable with his crooked little face. It appears to be a defect from an injury when he was either a new born or in utero.

Butters fear is deep rooted. He is terrified of people, despite being in foster care for many weeks with an experienced foster home, he is still very afraid to be touched or even go on a leash.

He has a long way to go but his joy for life and love for other dogs is helping him learn to trust.
