I just wanted to wish a happy Easter to everyone I hope everyone is staying healthy through this crazy time! I thought I’d post a few tips for people to know around this season when it comes to pets, other then the obvious advice to not adopt an “Easter bunny”.

Just thought I’d make a post in regards to pets and the Covid-19 pandemic..
ultimately if you have any concerns please check directly and immediately with your licensed veterinarian but here’s a few things I’ve learnt about the situation thus far,
1. Pets CAN carry the virus particles on them (this causes the weak positive testing we’ve seen in some animals already) if they’ve come in contact with the virus and can (but won’t necessarily) shed it to people but will not become infected or ill themselves
2. Owners should do their best to practice proper hygiene before and after handling and being around their pet
3. Avoid kissing “strangers”, yes we all love animals and if little Rex is stimulated and/or wanting cuddles this can be very hard to remember, but by us giving them a quick peck, we’re putting them, ourselves and everyone involved at risk of contamination.
Again, if you have any concern, let it be big or small please don’t hesitate to contact a licensed veterinarian with any questions!

I feel like this stands for anyone who puts an animals needs first that does not belong to them, such as veterinary staff, shelter volunteers, day care supervisors, fosters, pet sitters and so much more!

Today marks one week since making this page! I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has liked the page and posts, shared it and wished me luck with this little business so far. The interest and inquires already have been the best part of it all though!

Hey guys, my name’s Amanda and welcome to my pet services page! I will be adding more to this page ASAP but for tonight I thought I would at least introduce myself.
I graduated from college with my veterinarian assistant certificate in 2018 which included my pet CPR and proper restraint training. While on the journey of completing my VOA certificate I was lucky enough to land myself working hands on in a veterinary clinic for a little over a year before stepping into the shelter/rescue world with the Winnipeg humane society. I’ve owned animals all my life, (to name a few, dogs, cats, hamster, fish, chinchillas) and as you can see, they all have a pull on my heart someway or another!
