Feed The Furbabies Canada extends condolences to the family of little Rosie on her sudden passing.

Rosie's family generously donated over the years numerous bags of Performatrin food with the same message, "Love, Rosie". It always brought a smile to our faces knowing her family loved her so much. These were the last bags donated.

Rest easy Rosie. We will keep a special place in our hearts for you ♥️

We have been very busy this week getting food to many communities here in Manitoba. Starvation is a bleak reality for so many dogs this time of year. Please help us change this reality.
These are some ways you can help...
1️⃣ Foster a dog for one of our hardworking rescues here in Manitoba.
2️⃣ Adopt a dog from a Manitoba rescue. Every dog adopt makes room for another to be brought in.
3️⃣ Donate to your favorite rescue or shelter!
4️⃣ Share their posts. You might not be able to help but someone who sees the post could.

Luna is a 3 year old spayed, vaccinated 160 pound girl
She survived one house fire at one community, brought to a second community and then finally to a foster house through me - not a rescue. It was a desperate situation and hard to say no to once I learned of the fire.

We’ve been trying for months to place her as she needs someone that can give her the attention she deserves. She has separation anxiety and can be destructive

Landlord has now told the foster, Luna absolutely must be gone by September 30. Luna has been getting out and yes she did attack a small dog.
I’ve instructed the foster to get a cable tie out and even keep her tied up in the house so she doesn’t get out accidentally, I’ve provided a muzzle, I’ve instructed she’s only allowed out in the fenced back yard only.

She needs proper introductions to other dogs and she currently lives with one peacefully. She also adores cats and kittens and even the Guinea pigs in her Foster’s home have met her.

She needs a secure area so she doesn’t roam and get into trouble.

This town she’s in does have a pound and this is where she will end up at month end - and without a place to put her - I know what will
Happen to her. A pound setting will be extremely upsetting and she won’t be at her best.

I don’t want her to end up at the town pound month end - but without a place for her to go - that’s what will happen. I don’t want her to end up in the wrong hands as I’m sure she will due to her size.

What an incredible two weeks! 🐕❤️🐈❤️
We hosted two clinics in two weeks with the most incredible group of vets, vet techs, vet students and volunteers!

From August 29th - August 31st we traveled to Hollow Water First Nation. The Winnipeg Humane Society One Health Program performed 68 successful spay and neuters procedures , additional vaccines and wellness checks. The community supplied delicious lunches each day and made the band hall our home base!

From September 13th - September 15th we traveled to Swan Lake First Nation. The Winnipeg Humane Society One Health Program performed 73 successful spay and neuter procedures, additional vaccines and wellness checks. Our home base was the Cultural Centre. Such an amazing space to be able to call home for a couple of days!

We wanted to extend gratitude for the Chief and Council from both communities for inviting our teams to help prevent unwanted litters being born.

Time is so precious. We would like to thank the community members for trusting us with their beloved pets, the incredible vet team for helping so many in a short weekend. Last but not least...our volunteers. Giving up your weekend to clean and use muscles you forgot you had is incredibly hard work but the payment of puppy kisses and kitty cuddles makes it all worthwhile. ❤️

The Winnipeg Humane Society Community Outreach program has their pop up food bank in full swing at 415 Logan Ave with Winnipeg Inner City Mission. This food is for pet owners in need of support; please come on down! They’ll be here while supplies last; I’ll update the post when they run out.

Feed The Furbabies Canada will be joining The Dishcloth Damsel at the St. Norbert Farmers Market this Saturday, August 17/24 from 8 -2.
All proceeds from the sale of her “Help Wash Away Animal Suffering” dishcloths will be going to the rescue. Dishcloths are 100% cotton and come in a multitude of colours.
$4 each or $10 for three. Come out and support Feed The Furbabies Canada. Pick up a few dishcloths…great gifts. It’s fun at the market!

“The province (Manitoba) quietly suspended the licensing requirement for dog breeders more than a decade ago. CBC News learned the decision was made not long after Manitoba's Animal Care Act was amended in 2012, requiring more licensing and regular inspections from animal breeders.”

And now rescues and shelters are overwhelmed and broken trying to clean up the mess this has left behind. How many animals have suffered and continue to suffer due to lack of enforcement and government support?

PLEASE help 🙏🙏
We urgently need your HELP to save two dairy cows in need of sanctuary🙏🙏

We can’t do this alone. We have a very small window of time to save two retiring cows from two separate locations. In both cases, the owners would prefer both ladies to come to the Little Red Barn Sanctuary, rather than the tragic alternative.
We need to fundraise $3200 to save both gentle cows and bring them to sanctuary in the next couple days.

Can you please help us?? We hope to leave Sunday morning to Regina to save precious Mrs. Calloway, affectionately named “Big Mama” and sweet Vera.
We have $350 saved for just such a critical emergency, so that means we need $2850.
