Never too early for a first outdoor swim! Goose her favourite thing has always been water and swimming 😃 Impressed how comfortable she feels with her surroundings and me to go down in water in a ditch right beside a busy highway 👏 her wild instincts are precious - love this golden pony 🤩summer is just around the corner 🌞
Can anyone believe that Gilly has failed 3 foster homes last winter because she was not good with cats!? She got labeled by everyone as a “bad dog”. It s very interesting how people tend to label someone in a blink of an eye but in the reality they are the once responsible! Owning a dog is like having a child in many ways. First few months they wake you up, they need play, exercise, socialization, good nutrition, and most importantly a whole lot of education!! We aren’t born learning how to write of read so why do we expect others to be able to do things without having a chance to learn? Gilly is by far the smartest, most gentle, and kindest dog you can ever meet. Why? well this is mainly because she is a super star who has been allowed to be as expressive as she wanted. From day one Gilly received profound training and on a day to day basis she keep learning. I m extremely proud of her for her hard work. She is starting to be part of our therapy programs and will be starting her certifications this spring to become a certified therapy dog 💙 she s my hero that follows my path everywhere I go. Ps she has never received a treat nor has she ever been on a leash you for training - love and connection 💚🥰 she s 1 year and 3 months
Moonlight has taken us to the next level! 🎉
This lovely pony came to me extremelyyy traumatized and frightened of people. Dumped into the slaughtertruck on her way to the kill pen. Luckily I was able to have a zoom call with a local AB rescue who was able to take her out of the truck as I knew she was the one. Very hard decision when I saw over 50 ponies needing help. She unfortunately got quite mishandled and abused when pulled off but that didn’t last long. She s one that taught me to work without any tools with unhandled horses. As she slowly became comfortable with me, her face was still a big no for many months. I ve done a lot of work to help her feel at piece. Because she has some lovely pony attitude I decided so not force anything with her. Argument don’t obtain us anything relationship/willing work makes us shine. We went on her pace and as we went along with some training, some magic happened today... Anyone who has met moonlight a year ago, will most likely be as impresses as I am.
When I finished 3 other ponies trainings sessions I joined them in the herd for some time. It is good to connect and observe, we are able to learn a lot for it! As I walked up to Moonlight, I knew by the way she looked at me that this time she was going to be taking care of me. Goofing around and yes I hopped on for the very first time. This was done without tools in a big open space which allowed her to be as expressive as she wanted. Look at her eyes she was so relaxed and knew exactly how to take care of me!
The feeling was a massive reword after all the relationship work we ve done. Moonlight is still extremely sensitive and does not allow many people in her space yet. It is my job to protect her and keep all expenses positive for her. What a beautiful moment for our relationship ♥️ Of course I had to end wirh laying on her and giving her a big hug - she definitely didn’t complain to receive that extra love up there.
I always wonder « if horses where
We hope everyone is enjoying their September long weekend 🌞
Moonlight had a blast at the “beach” yesterday. In the 30+ degrees she adores water, rolling in it, and is learning to swim with her head above water. Some other sneaky pony took a bite out of my peach therefore Moonlight got to enjoy a little snack after her play time.
We hope everyone gets to do a fun play activity with their kids before they head back to school. Make sure to stay hydrated!

Some ponies wear capes. Way to go Superman. Lots of work for this little Duck 👏
Her wild instincts are unique 😍
Beach day for the ponies! 🏖
We’re up for another amazing summer! Two days ago, I moved all my girl and trainings horses to the ranch. Lovely to see everyone get along so nicely. They re enjoying the sun, relaxing environment, good food, and friends. Look at everyone rolling and grooming one another - pure happiness!🥰 I collected one of each colour. 😆
Deworming horses, we all know the battle.
Many horses don’t like the idea of getting a dewormer or syringe in their mouth. This often results in a conflict between horse and owner. It s key to teach them to accept/take a syringe and create a YES horse for a positive experience. Sky and I have been working on enjoying syringes. She received her first dewormer given by a « syringe » she sure enjoyed the experience and will gladly take a syringes down the road should she ever need medical care.
Tip of the day: Spending time on these little things can make a hug difference in your relationship!
What best friends do during the heavy rainfall. 🥰 I’m thankful to have a dry spot to keep them safe and offer them a piece full sleep. We’re thinking of everyone who’s pastures are under water. Hang in there better is on it s way. We’re excited to see the sunshine next week. ☀️
Time to discuss "Red Beets" and why it's a wonderful natural treat for horses 😀
Red beet root offers an incredible source of nutritional benefits for your horse. Rich in silicon, beets provide bone-building properties. These properties increase the flexibility of the bone matrix, thus reducing the chance of stress fractures.Beets also contain folic acid — a B vitamin, as well as the amino acid methionine. Both folic acid (which helps to generate new cells) and methionine, support healthy bone and skin elasticity.
Beets are an alkalizing food. They aid the liver in detoxification by neutralizing toxins in the blood. Fewer toxins in the blood equates to less work for the liver. The liver is constantly on the look-out for toxins and is involved in filtration 24/7.
Even the central nervous system can benefit from beets.
How?
Beets contain a combination of vitamins, minerals and amino acids that stimulate the production of the hormone dopamine in the brain. Dopamine has a calming effect.
We could stop there…but there’s even more!
Beets are rich in flavinoids, a compound that helps to reduce inflammation and reduce the effects of allergies. They also contain an anti-oxidant, betacyanin. Betacyanin inhibits tumor growth.
Beets have even been shown to have anti-parasite properties similar to that of garlic and pumpkin seeds!
It is important to note that beets are very different than beet pulp, an increasingly common commercial feed for horses. In this article we are talking about the vegetable itself. Beet pulp is a by-product of the sugar beet — it is what remains after the sugar is extracted from sugar beets.
If after reading this post you are sold on the value of whole foods beets, you probably now want to know how to select the best beets for your horse.
Beets with round bottoms are sweeter than those with flat bottoms. And be sure to pick beets that are firm as they soften with age.”
If you buy organic beets you can safely feed their skin as we
She’ll always be the first to run up to people when you’re at the gate! Thanks @jasmineregnier for the cute video.
Every. Single, Day, Shadow impresses me so much! The work she does with all the amazing little people is incredible!! She totally loves helping kids grow and teach them a gentle and kind way of working with horses. I love to teach about self care and how important it is to take care of ourselves for proper function. Horses just like us need rest, play time, love and even a massage so they can feel tip top and do what they love. As many clients mentioned throughout the summer, “I m impressed that shadow goes up to me every time I go in the pasture”. Yes, to me horses aren’t a tool! They’re family and they aren’t forced to do something they don’t want to do. 💓
As we come to an end of the summer, Shadow received an amazing treatment so she can enjoy playing with a couple more kids this weekend. No words needed to explain how much Shadow liked it!Monday, Shadow will be going on a little adventure for a couple of months with her best friends and myself - Stay tuned!
Sky loves her colourful carrots! They’re a natural treat full of powerful nutrients 😄.

There are so many ways to teach your horse how to back up. It s great if horses know different way. They will always be useful in a certain situation. Shadow thinks the chicken back up is fun 😅
Spirit the queen 🤩 He has learned so many great thing the past couple of days. He progresses so much and his amazing owner is slowly starting to work with him as well. I find it very important to train the horses as well as educate the owner so they can succeed together. If I only trained the horse, after training, many behaviour and communication problems would appear because the owner wouldn’t know how the horse has learned certain things which can make it very confusing for both. Educate yourself to be a good owner is key! We never stop learning!
Woody has a very hard time figuring out how to trot on a lead rope. Therefore, I needed to find a way to motivate him and make him understand it s fun. I go run with him in his paddock and teach him cues. He absolutely loves to play together at liberty. This will help him understand how to trot while being led and under saddle. Obviously we have to make it extra fun for him. 😆
He loves to go super fast with his speedy legs. I love sassy ponies!! 🤩
