The City of Winnipeg has released its 2025 Housing Needs Assessment. While this document acknowledges that there is a shortage of pet-inclusive housing units in Winnipeg, it does not directly address how to ensure that more pet-inclusive units are developed.

The Winnipeg Humane Society has made a formal request to the City of Winnipeg for a policy change that would require all developers accessing municipal grants or tax credits for housing developments to dedicate a minimum of 50% of the total housing units as pet-inclusive.
🚨 But we need your support to make that policy change a reality!

The City is hosting a virtual public information session to discuss the Housing Needs Assessment on Tuesday, December 2 at 7:00pm. Participants will have the opportunity to present their views and ask questions. We encourage you to participate and make your views on the need for pet-inclusive housing known.

Rocky had a bit of a rough start to life - brought to us as a stray he's been fairly nervous, but is ready for a new life with his family.
If you sit with Rocky in his pod (which I can't recommend enough), he'll eventually request pets, and gently place a paw on your leg to ask for more. He's quiet, loves his lamb chop, and has the kindest face.

This 1-year-old is the dog of your dreams, and you have to take him home because I can't 😬.

What we could really use now is wrapping paper, and treats and toys for dogs and cats.

Maple is a 4-year-old nervous (but oh so sweet) girl looking for her family. She can be a tad slow to warm up, but once she does she wants all the tummy rubs and bum scritches.

Maple is a homebody, and loves spending time in the places she is most comfortable. She loves to play with her humans, and is working really hard on her reactivity on leash - she's been wary of other dogs and strangers.
