By now you probably know Ruby Red (and if you don't PLEASE check her highlight in our bio 😦). She's a sweet, sweet mama pup who came into us very scared. Up until a few weeks ago, she didn't like strangers, and she wouldn't let anyone pet her.
Her time in foster has truly saved her - she has learned to trust humans, understand love, and knows that she is going to be okay ❤️.

Ruby will be at the WHS Saturday, December 6, from 11-1, for meet and greets with potential adopters.

She truly is a special girl, and will make her family so, so happy.

You can give our team a call ahead of time to make an appointment, or just come on down.

The callout for our holiday foodbank hampers received an INCREDIBLE response - because of you, we are able to support so many families this season.

Today we're sharing a special thank you to our volunteers who are packing and wrapping and spreading love. This amount of work would not get done without them, and has such an impact on this holiday season for so many.

Thank you for giving so much of yourselves everyday, and adding those touches that make things truly special 🌟🧡💜.

We know that how animals feel influences their experiences, and how they respond.

Why is this important to us? At the Winnipeg Humane Society, our mission is to protect all animals from suffering and to promote their welfare and dignity. The recognition of animal sentience is one of the most important concepts in advancing that goal.

As advocates, it is up to us to take all welfare needs into consideration to ensure better lives for animals.

Every animal who comes into the shelter is seen at our clinic. For some, their care is quick; for others, it’s a lifesaving second chance.

Goku was brought into our clinic after a hit and run left him with a severe wound and needing 3 surgeries.

➡️Our incredible clinic team was able to close his exposed muscle and ligaments, leaving this brave boy with no lasting injuries - the total cost of his medical care was $2,000.

Goku is nearly back to full health, and our team has been there every step of the way – the cherry on top is Goku with his new dad. This boy is going to have the best life thanks to you!
