Greetings Dog Lovers!
I am planning to put together an outdoor group class on Saturday, April 30th in Woodstock (weather permitting) to teach you and your dog how to ENJOY walking together! No pulling, no leash tension, no stress! Every dog owners dream, am I right?! 🤣 The class will be about 1.5 hours and I will show you how to teach your dog to respect their place on the leash, develop leash manners and leash awareness and get you on the right track for happy walks with your four legged bestie.

Ummmm if this is not the most dapper looking dude that I ever did see then I don't know who is 😭💙😍

Meet ROO!! Roo and his owner had his first session tonight and he did SO WELL. He is known to have less than stellar leash manners and has a hard time paying attention/keeping engagement but he picked it up so quickly and by the end of the session we were working on recall drills and down/stays and he was doing it like a BOSS! 👏 Can't wait for our next session!

I wanted to take a quick moment and introduce you all to me and my family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🐩🐶🐕

For those of you who don't know me personally, my name is Nikki! I am a wife and mom to two beautiful girls and dog mom to three adorable pups, Storm, Shady & Uno 🐾

For as long as I can remember, I have LOVED animals, specifically dogs. The bond between an owner and their four legged friend is one like no other! When I started training my own dogs, researching different training techniques, taking course after course about dog behaviours and different training methods, it really sparked a passion in my soul. Something I think I have been looking for for years!

Recently, after countless people pushing me and encouraging me, I finally decided to turn this passion of mine into a business on the side. I also have a full time job, so currently my appointment slots are evenings and weekends. I serve clients in the Woodstock area and come to your home / environment to train your dog (and you!) In your own space. After your initial session with me, I will leave you with a personalized and detailed plan to follow until our next meeting to help you get to where you need to be with your best friend!

It is my goal and my honour to help you weather the STORM with your Dog 🌩️🐾

🐾 Bringing a new dog into the home can be challenging, but here are some helpful tips to make it a bit easier:

1. Right from the start, mark and reward all good and positive behaviour 👏 This is how we communicate with our dogs that we approve of what they are doing and encourage them to repeat the desirable behaviour. If your dog does something good, make it a big deal! Rewards can come in the form of treats or lots of excited praise, but make it clear to the dog what is desirable and what is unacceptable.

2. Mean what you say! Don't let yourself get in the habit of constantly repeating commands "sit fluffy! Siiiiiiiit. Come on fluffy, sit! I said SIT" this won't do much but confuse the dog while at the same time teaching him that he doesn't have to listen until the second (or tenth) time.

3. Be patient and try to remain calm and level headed while working with your dog. Dogs can sense our vibes and our energy. Remember that dogs don't understand things the same way we do, so we have to find an effective way to teach and communicate the things we need from them. Don't assume your dog knows what's expected of them at the very beginning. Patience is key!
