New Title! The dog that helped us build our training program and drills, believed to be the first Canadian Grand Champion Shed Dog 🇨🇦. Badger got it done in 19 Champion shed tests with 9 podiums (Four 1st places/ two wins counted towards ESD, one 2nd place, three 3rd places and one 4th place), as well as one Champion class Elite Shed Dog Nationals pass. Badger is currently sitting at 355 ESDS Champion points.
We have had a lot of interest in the Dot x Klay litter . This being Klays first litter in the USA and Dots last it’s an extremely special one to us .

We had a blast last weekend at the Georgian Bay Shed Dogs event. Highlights for our team was Tori running two dogs in champion class at 37 weeks pregnant. Tori went 6/6 with Pistol and Mattie, she was close to the podium with a sixth place finish with Pistol on Friday.
Both kids went 2/2 in Youth with Badger and Pistol. Todd/Pistol finished in first place on Saturday with a 2:04 min. run.
It was truly overwhelming seeing numerous Canadian dogs and handlers that we had the pleasure of assisting along their training journey. Whether we started the dog, trained them at the intermediate/advanced level, coached the handler, or provided advice along the way, it was nice to see so many familiar faces and names be succesful in the sport we are so passionate about.
Lastly, Badger had an awesome weekend with a combined time of 7:16 for 3 runs; finishing the weekend with fastest combined time, two wins, and a fourth place. He broke the 300 point mark on Friday to achieve his Grand Champion Shed Dog title (pending UKC approval).
Today, we held the first Ultimate Shed Dog Challenge hosted and brought to you by Canadian Antler Dogs and Bone Clone Shed Antler Training Scent following the conclusion of Georgian Bay Shed Dogs UKC Event. 100 percent of the entry fees are donated to the ESDS Youth Scholarship Fund. We believe in training well rounded shed dogs and the challenge was to reflect just that. Handlers were only allowed to run one dog and the antler plants were the exact same for every dog. The challenge included a pass and fail portion for control where dogs had to honour another dog retrieving an antler. The challenge also included a timed course portion with 5 antlers scented with Bone Clone (base only). The maximum time alloted was 8 minutes, one of the antler was an elk antler, one of the zones was planted with two antlers (a match set). We had a blast judging it and we raised 220$ for the ESDS scholarship fund! Congrats to Ange and Emi for taking the win with a time of 2:25. We plan on making this a yearly thing so start training for 2025!
Thanks to our friends at Vom Pirschmann, we had the opportunity to visit "La Belle Province" to deliver a shed dog seminar and demonstrations. My bag of Bone Clone Shed Antler Training Scent was way lighter on the drive back, that tells me there will be a few shed dogs in the making in Quebec! We never take a wild shed opportunity away from our dogs. Our dogs often hunt away from us in a different area, and it happens that we stumble across a shed.
