Busy day for little Alfie. He was curled up next to me but I had to get up, he stayed curled up!
Sweet boy
Welcome to Alfie's Adventures. I have lived with, and loved Afghan hounds for more than 40 years. I co-owned a CC with Carly and we had many adventures.
Alfie came to live with us on Sunday, June 5. He is 7 months old and has made himself at home

Alfie had a really good 2023 ... only in conformation once, he finished as #41 Chinese Crested in Canada (and earned points towards his Grand Championship) and also
#2 Chinese Crested in Rally Obedience
He earned his Rally Novice title, and his first qualifying score in Rally Advanced. Completed his Trick Dog Novice Master title.
He also completed his Sprinter title. He played agility at fun matches and at lessons.
He is a very capable dog ... love him to the moon and back!
Surprise mail!
I miscalculated Alfie’s points and he has earned his Sprinter title!
He loves Sprinter and has run 33 km/hr.
Can’t wait for more Sorinter and Chase Ability in 2024!
Alfie (Ch Wind Ain’t Misbehaven, Novice Rally, Novice Sprinter) wants to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2024!
We are looking forward to more Alfie adventures in 2024!
BIG thank you Krista for another beautiful grooming for my little guy … i always worry about his coat when I’m away, but not anymore … with Krista and her Baths N’ Biscuits Grooming salon! (Love the Hairy Cow pic!)
Alfie braved the cold weather to visit the Pubnico Buoy Christmas Tree 🎄
An Alfie sELFie 🤳
A dark and stormy night means walk time is at Canadian Tire for some last minute Christmas shopping!
Alfie added another title to his name
Novice Trick Dog masters NTD-M
Cute and smart!
Thanks Krista!
Alfie listening to my cues on his way to earn his first qualifying score in Advanced Rally Obedience with a score of 97 out of 100 possible points (tied for 1st place in his class)
He can sometimes get overwhelmed in the show/trial atmosphere but we have been practicing and on this day, he did great.
So proud of this boy and we have so much fun together (my little shadow).
This score puts him at #2 Chinese Crested in Rally Obedience in Canada.

It’s official!
Now to finish Rally Advanced!
Alfie stopped for a little visit with this giant Santa while in the city!
Well Alfie had quite the adventure today at the MG7 Rally Obedience trial @ Ace It … we entered rally intermediate in the morning trial, mostly to get experience and for him to gain confidence in the trial setting. Unfortunately I forgot the ckc rule that you cannot compete with any kind of color on your coat (I had put beautiful streaks of purple and blue on his side coat).
He did quite well and would have earned a qualifying score but the judge reminded me that she had to nq him because of the colors!
So into the bathroom to try to wash out the chalk colors!
I decided to move him up to rally Advanced … not knowing if I had removed enough of the color (much support from my fellow competitors)
Rally Advanced in off leash … judge said as we entered that he looked ok enough color removed … and he earned a 97 out of 100 possible points and tied for top score!
So pleased … I knew he could do it …
Alfie added a new title -
NTD (novice trick dog) he is:
Multi group placing
Ch Wind ain’t Misbehaven,
Novice sprinter (NS)
Rally novice (RN)
NTD
Thank you Krista Senez, evaluator
Do more with your dog
I moved Alfie’s dog bed yesterday while we had workers here … couldn’t find him this morning … then noticed him curled up in his bed … just a new location … I might leave it there … he seems to like it there!
Sweet boy! 💕
I bought this little dog bed for Alfie about a week ago. He loves sleeping against something so I thought this would be perfect (never enough dog beds! lol)
I put it in the kitchen and today is the first time he’s used it!
He is just so sweet sleeping all curled up!
So much fun running agility courses with Alfie … he maybe small … but he can really run!
Alfie and I stopped into Canadian Tire for some training and socialization! The decorations were so pretty we had to stop for a pic!
Alfie loves his girls! May be a huge size difference but he doesn’t know that! He has a BiG personality lol
From scruff to fluff today at Baths N’ Biscuits grooming with Krista. He looks amazing and feels even better than he smells!
Alfie enjoyed an afternoon of watching me rack up lots of leaves and the afghans running through them! Then an evening of rally, learning some tricks and a little conformation. He is sound asleep now … an exciting day.
Another fun CKC Sprinter trial for little Alfie at AquaTerra in Upper Stewiake, NS with East Coast Sighthound Association. He averaged 33 km/hr running 100 meters 4 times.
He may be small, but that boy loves to ‘chase the bunny’
(*note this video was from a previous sprinter)
Special thank you to Glenda Harding MacDonald for your help all weekend.
Our sweet Alfie is 2 years old today … and had 2 birthday celebrations, first with Carly and then I got home in time to hug him and celebrate with him!
Ch Wind Ain’t Misbehavin, novice sprinter
So thankful to his breeders co-owners for this wonderful bundle of hair!!!

It's true you can't judge
A book by its cover
But you can judge a country boy by his truck

Last year's Thanksgiving adventures. 🦃
The best part of sleepovers at Carly's house is that she always gets up super early and we get to go for walks before anyone else wakes up! 🕑
Timestamp: 5:27am 😴
The joy of making it to the Thanksgiving long weekend to finally relax! 💕
Trying 3 D for the first time
This may be the last perfect night of 2023 … love spending these quiet moments with Alfie by the lake … he loves watching the lake… although nothing moving tonight except a few leaves falling …

I got this fence to keep Aura away from Alfie. Had it for about a month and tonight he learned how to use the doggie door! Now he can go in and out as he wants and Aura can’t!!!
I didn’t realize Chinese cresteds were bird dogs! But Alfie just spent part of the afternoon trying to catch these little birds and having a great time! He has more stamina than the affies!
Alfie loves loves to chase his ball, I use it as a reward for playing games, he created his own game or bringing back his ball through the weave poles! Such a smart boy and just so darn cute!
Another fun CKC Sprinter trial for little Alfie at AquaTerra in Upper Stewiake, NS with East Coast Sighthound Association. He averaged 33 km/hr running 100 meters 4 times. Alfie just loves to run for the pure joy of running! He had been running for awhile before i got out my phone to video his joy … i am quite sure he is smiling and laughing! The afghans were laying down or sniffing … Alfie was just running and running … love this boy!
Alfie got to try a mini version of chase ability today … that little guy has a ton of enthusiasm for chasing the bunny … he just vibrates waiting for his turn … and stays on the lure … his first time with twists and turns … didn’t slow him down at all!
So very pleased with Alfie’s AAC jumpers run! He had never seen the wall jump, so hesitated, but went through the whole course without any faults.
Alfie loves to run and he is really fast … not as fast as the afghans … but he has more stamina and can keep on running when they give up!
Alfie LOVES Sprinter Fun … the high temps and humidity didn’t slow him down at all … and he loved the watermelon and frozen yogurt to help cool him down when we got home. Thank you Carly Thornton for the video and all the help with both dogs. Donna McLeod Peggy May
This is how I play with Alfie on a rainy day! we had a good solid lesson today. Agility is so much fun
