MY SISTER AND HER FAMILY MOVED INTO MY HOME WITHOUT ASKING – KARMA STRUCK THEM HARD THE VERY SAME DAY
For the past decade, I’ve been working to pay off my modest three-bedroom house. It may not be extravagant, but it’s mine. My sister and her husband, the adventurous types, sold their home for a year-long trip. They thought the funds would stretch, but within just two months, they were out of money. They grossly underestimated how quickly expenses could accumulate, especially with two small children in tow.
One day, I returned home to find them unpacking in my living room. Apparently, my mom had given them a spare key. When I asked them to leave, they outright refused. My brother-in-law, a big guy, even started making veiled threats, telling me I shouldn’t get too cocky.
They informed me they intended to stay in my house rent-free for the next ten months while they "figured things out." I was LIVID. Calling the cops felt wrong since their young kids, ages 5 and 6, might get caught up in it, and I didn’t want that.
Just as I was feeling utterly helpless, karma intervened that very evening.
