I know I've been quiet of late, this is due to me relocating back to the UK, so I'm still settling into life back in the UK. I will soon be back drawing again and sharing with you all my works.

I almost forgot to share this finished piece. Titled the "Squabble" as you can, they're fighting over an apple. I do love these birds, waxwings have some amazing colours to them. Let me introduce you to "Beth," the gorgeous yellow labrador who lives with another labrador called Magumi, whom I drew back in 2021. As always, she was a real pleasure to draw. I was asked to tone down the shadows on the left side (looking at the picture), which I managed to do. The good thing about drawing pets from photos is that I can manipulate the photo so easily and make the drawing look so more natural looking. The one thing I most enjoy about drawing dogs is those eyes! They can bring a portrait to life or totally destroy a portrait. I usually spend a lot of time working on the eyes. I hope you like it. At this stage, I'm working on building up the base layer colours, of which can take a lot of layers! Doing this provides you with a good base to work on the finer details.

Good morning to you all, I hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday (as I am😊). I just wanted to share with you this, my latest WIP. Two Bohemian waxwing squabbling over a left over apple. The original, when finished with be for sale, as also both A4 and A3 prints.

I have now finally finished the Hungarian Vizsla. And what a beauty he is! And such a joy to draw as always. He will now be packaged up and shipped off to the US to be united with his owner.
What I decided to do with this portrait was to lighten up those darker areas of the portrait, as the original reference photo was taken in direct sunlight. This then gave me some really dark tonal values in those shaded areas. So I decided to lighten them and give a little more texture to the drawing. So I have now finished the Bethany vere tutorial, and yes I did not follow her to the "T" as always diverted away from following her 100%. I concentrated on matching those colours better. This is my current work in progress, this is a tutorial im following be Bethany Vere Artist , this is a learning piece, as we practice makes perfect! I'm absolutely loving the contrast in colours in this piece, so many subtle tones and colours going on with this drawing. I hope you like it.
