Our Story

The Osa peninsula is located on the southwest coast of Costa Rica on the Pacific Ocean, in the south of the province of Puntarenas. Known as the last wild frontier of Costa Rica, Osa is one of the most beautiful regions in the world due to its large rainforests which border on a strip of undeveloped coast, rich in flora and fauna. With a biodiversity of the most exuberant in the world, the region is made up mostly of national parks and private reserves, has natural paradises such as Matapalo, Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park, the largest protected area in the country, declared by National Geographic as the area with the greatest biological diversity in the world. The peninsula is bathed internally by Golfo Dulce, which receives its name due to its almost null surf, a feature that gives the appearance of a huge and calm lake. The Gulf itself is one of only four tropical fjords on the planet, which is why it is visited by scientists and tourists, who come to delight in the communities of dolphins, whales and whale sharks that pass through.

This property offers 5 hectares or 12 acres of private seclusion, two freshwater creeks, beautiful mangroves, many animals including various species of monkeys, birds & reptiles, internal walking trails, 150 meters of sandy beachfront and communal bathrooms and showers for all campers. We can rent you camping gear if required or bring your own. All guest registrations without exception must be completed firstly at Chosa Manglar Nature Retreat in Puerto Jimenez. The property can be reached by boat, kayak, car, bicycle, motorbike, bus or on foot, you decide what's best for you and your budget. Pura Vida!

We recently finalized the purchase of 235 hectares or almost 600 acres of primary rain forest on the Osa Peninsula. We have become carbon neutral, a long time family and business goal.
