Today ⭐️ November 23rd is WOLFENOOT DAY 🐺 and those who celebrate it are called Wolfenati. It’s about celebrating the spirit of the wolf and kindness 🥰

A holiday created by a 7 year old boy in New Zealand 🇳🇿 it’s a day that focuses on being kind to animals, especially dogs 🐶 as they are descendants from wolves.

And on this day, the spirit of the wolf is said to leave presents 🎁 around the house for the humans that are nice to dogs.

Did you know..? Today, (November 20th) is national Gary day ⭐️
And here is our very own wee Gary (he’s half Scottish) and this is what his mum had to say about him 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Gary was born in our house when I took in a stray and went off on tour. The wee stray gave birth to 6 puppies and we kept Gary Gary's mum was poisoned so a cat kept going into the puppy basket and nursing them so he's known as GARY, KING OF CATS.

When I take him out on the lead, all the stray cats run up to him and rub on him. He's very relaxed and has great dog energy. He's never been attacked by another dog, all dogs seem to love him and want to play with him. Even dogs who are aggressive and unsociable with other dogs all seem to calm down around him. He's very funny and has a different relationship with everyone in the house 🏡

He's not food lead. He only likes being hand fed small chicken bites and the only treat he likes was Bensanz Biscuits 💚
He gets a big beach walk every day and he runs off lead because he's so obedient and such an angel he even takes himself into the forest in the morning for a p*e and comes back with a dozen stray cats, all looking for breakfast.

He sleeps in our bedroom in his own bed and doesn't ever wake up until I'm up. He's perfect in every way expect for rolling in dead goat. That's his kryptonite.

Also, he does tricks - high jumps, leaps, sit, speak, stay and sing. He does the full soprano when he's in the car 💚

Kukur Tihar 🌸 🐶

The annual Hindu festival originating from Napal, where people show appreciation for dogs to please Yama, the God of death, because dogs are believed to be his messengers. This year the festival runs from the 10-14th November.

The dogs, including strays are decorated with garlands and tilaka and given food and treat offerings of meat, milk and other yummies.

Broccoli for dogs? 🥦

It´s a big YES from us...

Broccoli contains Sulforaphanes which, according to studies in both dogs and humans, SLOWED the rate of cancers, REDUCED inflammation and REMOVED toxins like heavy metals and AGE´S from the body 💚

You can add it cooked or raw to their meals or give it as a healthy treat 🐶

💚 Does your pet have allergies, skin problems, weepy eyes or other health issues seemingly without reason??

🙊 You may be surprised to know that there are hundreds of things around our homes that can affect the health and longevity of our pets.

🐶 It's not just what our cats and dogs EAT that determine their health… here a a few common things found at home that may be causing some problems for your animals..

🕯️ Candles, diffusers, oil burners, incense etc - Often contain toxic chemicals which can burn or irritate the eyes, nose, throats, skin and respiratory systems ESPECIALLY if they contain certain ESSENTIAL OILS. A few ones to 🚩 100% AVOID 🚩 are Peppermint, Tea Tree, Ylang Ylang and many more - so make sure to read up on safe ones and ALWAYS have a flow of fresh air when using anything like this, so the pets can avoid it if they need to.

🧼 Soaps, detergents and freshener sprays - What are you washing your pets bedding and towels in? Most contain corrosive agents that will be absorbed through our pets skin, and feet. The added perfume, although smells nice to us, is also detrimental to your pets health. Try looking for a pet safe one, or at the very least DO NOT use anything perfumed on their bedding.

🧹 Household cleaners, bleaches and sprays - Don´t forget our cats and dogs are walking around barefoot, unable to rinse off whatever chemicals we have used. Their way of cleaning themselves is to lick... 👅 Imagine using floor cleaners, pesticides in the garden, multi purpose sprays and the only way to take it off your skin is to lick it - 🤢 with long term exposure to these things, is it any wonder our pets are getting cancers and other serious illnesses?

🌱 There are so many natural options that are both affordable and top notch at freshening our homes and killing all nasty bacteria that are non toxic to pets, and affordable. You can even make your own with a few very simple ingredients found in most of our kitchens.

Tonight our simple post honours the oldest dog in the world.
Sleep well Bobi - you’re an inspiration

Is there ever enough time 💔? I think not.

Last night, this sweet boy earned his wings 🕊️.

Despite outliving every dog in history, his 11,478 days on earth would never be enough, for those who loved him. When we asked Leonel what his recipe was for Bobi’s exceptionally long life, his response was swift: “Good nutrition, constant contact with nature, freedom to discover his environment, consistent veterinary care, and love. Bobi knows he’s deeply loved.”

Godsp*ed, Bobi…you’ve taught the world all you were mean’t to teach 🐾❤️‍🔥🌈.
