We are often asked where people can meet Gaynor and see her feed the street cats! 🐈‍⬛ 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈

We always say the Old Town Mosque around Noon each day is the best place.

But where is the Old Town Mosque? 🕌

Dominic from Paphos life has shared this wonderful video of how you can travel from the harbour to the Old Town Mosque (the entrance to parking is at 13:00 minutes into the video).

As always, please do message us with your stories and photos of meeting Gaynor and the street cats ❤️

Volunteer Nikki had a new cat show up at the Cafe Nero feeding station (cat at back of photo).

Nikki’s concerned about the way it’s trying to hold itself upright, and she also suspects it could have something contagious that could spread through the colony.

As you know, we currently have to triage medical issues as we’re low on funds. Given the threat of something spreading, and the cat is clearly in distress, we have agreed the cat can go for assessment to the vet.

We’re praying it’s something easily treatable, for the cat’s sake.

When a new cat turns up, we don’t have any information on its medical history, so we could be dealing with anything. Let’s pray the cat comes back looking for food so Nikki can try to trap it.

If the cat is unneutered, it will be automatically be neutered at the same time of assessment.

If you could help us build up our medical fund pot:

A Paphos Cat Lady supporter sent us this today.

She is currently on holiday in Córdoba (Spain), and was very impressed with the treatment of the protected feline colonies 😸

The sign says the scheme is a ‘guarantee of a good coexistence’ 🧑🏻👩🏽😸

We couldn’t agree more, and wish a LOT of other countries would adopt such a policy!

Early last year, Robert from Roberts Travel Blog spent a number of weeks with Gaynor to experience the real issues she faces on a day to day basis.

One of the issues that kept Gaynor awake at night was finding a sick cat and not knowing if she could afford to have it treated. That broke her heart 💔

So Robert came up with the idea of a medical fundraiser which we launched around a year ago.

It has been an incredible success and put Gaynor’s mind at rest knowing there were funds available to treat sick cats immediately 😻

The Paphos Cat Lady team believe in full transparency where your donations are concerned, so we have tracked and noted where every penny and euro has been spent, which you can view in the fundraiser ❤️

However, after a number of high cost medical treatments recently, we find ourselves in the position of only having £158 available in the fund. That means, the team have to triage medical issues and make the hard decision as to whether we can send a cat for treatment or not.

We hate having to ask all the time, but we would really love to get the funds increased so Gaynor can have peace of mind when dealing with sick or injured cats on the street. If you’re able to help top up our medical fund, please click here: https://gofund.me/6fc66271

We would also like to share that every donation goes directly to help the cats. I (Suzanne) cover all administrative costs from Go Fund Me.

Thank you 🙏

Sassy from The Bins feeding station was released back to her colony today.

Sassy had been treated for cat flu 🤧

A HUGE thank you to ex-volunteer Darren who helped Gaynor collect Sassy from the vet clinic, and did all the heavy lifting and shifting to release her!

Good luck Sassy. Here’s wishing you good health moving forward 😸

Just as we had one cat released from the vet clinic (Lilly), today we have another that needed medical attention.

"Sassy" is from the Bins feeding station. Sassy hasn't been eating for a few days and just sits there watching the others eat. She is also breathing through her mouth.

We'll post an update as soon as we have any further information on Sassy.

Lovely Lilly is settling well into her forever home ❤️

If you missed yesterday's update and don't know Lilly's story, she was from the Mayfair Hotel & Gardens feeding stop. Lilly was found with a broken pelvis and urine infection. She was operated on but had complications, so also had to have her tail amputated. Then they discovered a blockage so Lilly was unable to pass waste, so she was operated on again.

Poor Lilly really has been through a lot! 😿

However, yesterday she was finally released from the vet clinic after 33 DAYS! As you can see, she is making friends and apparently she hasn't moved from in front of the fire all day!

Lilly can't go back on the streets as she can't pass urine or waste on her own, so will need daily human intervention.

Good luck Lilly

Thanks to your generous donations, we have just managed to cover Lilly's medical costs ❤️

Lilly from the Mayfair Hotel & Gardens feeding stop was FINALLY released today!

If you've been following Lilly's story, you'll know we found her with a broken pelvis and urine infection. She was operated on by the wonderful Animal Rescue Cyprus Reg.No.4420. However, Lilly had complications and had to also have her tail amputated. Then they discovered a blockage so Lilly was unable to pass waste products, so she was operated on again.

Poor Lilly really has been through a lot!

However, today she was finally released from the vet clinic after 33 DAYS and went to recover at Volunteer Andy's house. Lilly can't go back on the streets as she can't pass urine or waste products on her own, so will need daily human intervention.

The issue we constantly have with street cats is that we don't run a sanctuary, so the cats have to board at the vets whilst they heal. That soon adds up to a lot of money!

We have asked if anyone in the Paphos area would be interested in becoming a temporary carer for recuperating cats, but we’ve never received any volunteers.

Thanks to your generous donations, we have just managed to cover Lilly's medical costs ❤️
