Oscar is one of the bravest cats with an owner unlike any other.

A few months ago, Oscar was hit by a car. With a fractured spine and damage to his spinal cord, he was left paraplegic. He was unable to use his back legs, unable to walk.

But Oscar was in good hands.

Oscar underwent neurosurgery at Oroklini Vets, the fracture was stabilised with pedicle screws and he started the long journey to recovery. This surgery gave him the necessary foundations to be able to walk again.

Oscar received physical therapy and laser therapy sessions at home over the course of 2 weeks, with monthly maintenance sessions from September 2023.

A few months later, Oscar started getting stronger and stronger. He started walking again. While he still has a long way to go, it brings us immense joy to see him trying and never giving up.

Meet Chico. While under great care at AnimalsLovers Vet Clinic, Chico was referred for corrective surgery to the amazing orthopedic team at Oroklini Vets, to correct an injury in the knee region of his left hind limb. Part of his rehabilitation plan was to receive laser therapy sessions at home.
In this video you can see Chico’s improvement after receiving a total of four sessions of photobiomodulation (laser) therapy at home, along with daily exercises by his dedicated owner.

Meet Henry. In this video you can see Henry’s improvement after surgery. Henry was suffering from a severe form of cauda equina syndrome, a condition where the spinal nerve roots are compressed causing weakness, loss of mobility and paralysis of the pelvic limbs.

A little more than a month ago, this old trooper underwent complex neurosurgery at Oroklini Vets. The talented surgical team performed procedures on the L7-S1 vertebral region such as dorsal petalectomy and discectomy in order to relieve the compression, as well as the application of a pedicle screw system to stabilise the site.

After surgery, Henry received 6 home sessions of photobiomodulation (laser therapy) in 6 days, in order to shorten his rehabilitation period, help him regain normal function of his back legs and prevent muscle atrophy. His owners exercised with him daily. One month later, Henry is a happy boy, walking out of his latest check up in style.

Three adorable kitten sisters and their amazing mama cat are in search of their forever homes!

They were saved from wild cats by a good samaritan and are now nearly 2 months old. They are healthy, litter trained, playful, very friendly 🐈

Meet Boobys. Another case of suspected acute polyradiculoneuritis, that started with paraplegia that progressed to tetraplegia and inability to stand or walk.

After prompt and excellent care by the team of vets at Dr.Michalis Louka Veterinary Clinic, Boobys started a corticosteroid course and was referred for veterinary laser therapy and physical therapy.

After 6 sessions of veterinary laser therapy over the course of roughly 2 weeks, daily exercises by his diligent owners and lots and lots of treats, Boobys started walking again.

Meet Sparrow. He is 15 years old and was referred for physical therapy and laser therapy with suspicion of acute polyradiculoneuritis, a disease characterised by inflammation of the motor nerves, weakness and paralysis. Sparrow was suddenly unable to walk or stand.

One week later, after 4 physical therapy and laser therapy sessions at home, combined with daily exercises with his owner, Sparrow is walking again.

Sparrow’s owner has been with him every step of the way, providing him with the loving care and attention that allows him go through the rehabilitation process with dignity and good quality of life.

The story of handsome Boris and the difference a vet visit can make ☺️ Before meeting him, he was suffering with chronic alopecia and pruritus (loss of hair and itchiness) for months.

On our first visit he received a quick laser therapy session to help relieve some of the discomfort from his open wounds and itchy spots and then he received a single-dose ectoparasite treatment against suspected demodicosis. A little more than a month later, his symptoms have regressed and his haircoat is recovering from the damage 😊 We’re keeping a close eye on him so he can stay happy, shiny and silky smooth for the future 👀 ✨

5 dogs tested at home for ehrlichiosis and leishmaniasis 🐕 🩸These rapid blood tests are useful as rapid qualitative antibody detection test in dogs suspected of having leishmaniosis, ehrlichiosis or a coinfection.

Both canine leishmaniasis (Leishmania infantum) and the canine monocytic ehrlichiosis (CME, Ehrlichia canis) count among the most important vector-transmitted infectious diseases / travel diseases of the dog. Coinfections play a major role, because these dogs are more likely to become ill.
