Ruby The Bean

Ruby The Bean Hi, I'm Ruby the boxweiler dog. My humans like to laugh at me because I snore, sit like a lady, and lay like a frog.

Boxweiler, Hyper, Sassy, Ruby: A Life story.

I was born in Daly City, California, to a boxer mom-dog and rottweiler dog-dad. After 8 weeks of living with my brothers and sisters, we went for a ride to Fisherman’s Wharf, where a funny lady picked me out from the bunch. Her name was Marina. That night, I was all alone in this giant box, when I suddenly got super lonely. I started howling and crying, hoping my bros could come to rescue, but instead that girl Marina showed up. She got in the cage and kept me company until the morning. From then on, I understood. I’d been adopted!

For a while, we lived in Berkeley, where I’d get to play with other doggos at Willard Park from time to time. It was kinda crazy living there, especially since I was going through puberty and all that jazz. My new mom was always frustrated about me chewing up her aromatic leather shoes, hundred dollar headphones, and that pair of designer sunglasses, but honestly? I was just soooo bored.

After two years of that, I got on a plane and arrived in Prague, Czechia. My new home was weird! All the doggos were listening to commends that didn’t sound anything like the English and Russian I was used to. I’d spend time with my Ma at her work a lot, always making sure to bark at any possible intruders, especially if they were delivering things. I mean, what is it with humans knocking on doors?! They are asking to get a bark back. Anyway, at some point my humans decided I had to go back to California to live with my gramma and Mokka Latte, my boxer auntie. At first, I gave Mokka a hard time, but eventually she grew on me and we became buddies.

Nine months and twenty-five pounds later, Marina and Tomy came back to get me. We got on a plane again and whoosh! I woke up in Prague. We’ve basically been here ever since, visiting Rieger Park whenever it isn’t too muddy, and occasionally taking field trips to other parts of town via tram. I’m not too fond of those trips because I have to wear a muzzle when I go, but you know... humans.
