Tumor in testicals of Rhacodactylus trachyrhynchus.
In the past weeks, I have noticed that a male R. trachycephalus was fat. I fed them with fruit mash the days before so I only thought he just ate way too much. The big belly wasnt getting smaller though, but the other way. I went to again and it was obvious its some kind of tumor, so an operation was planned.
The testicals that were removed weighed 22 grams, leaving the male with a weight of 44 grams.
Male is now back in the terrarium, showing more activity in the terrarium as well. Stitches will be removed in 6 weeks. Infertile animal that will be kept as a “pet”.

Nádory ve varlatech R. trachyrhynchus.
V posledních týdnech jsem si všimla, že samec R. trachyrhynchus je nezvykle tlustý. V předešlých dnech jsem krmila ovocnou kaší, tak jsem nejdříve myslela, že to jen přehnal. Břicho se ale ani v následujících dnech nezmenšovalo, spíše naopak. Navštívila jsem veterinu a ze sona bylo zřejmé, že jde o nádor, a tak byla naplánována operace.
Varlata byla odstraněna, jejich váha byla 22 gramů. Váha zvířete po operaci byla 44 gramů.
Sameček je zpět v teráriu a i přesto, že je po operaci, tak je velice akční. Stehy budou vytaženy za 6 týdnů. Neplodné zvíře si nechám “na mazlika”.
