Cruziohyla craspedopus, another breeding attempt, this time successful (so far) 😎.

After a few months, I put the adults in the rainchamber. So far I had two clutches, both unfertile. This time, the eggs started developing. I got on advice from multiple breeders to just keep trying again.

10 eggs started developing, I got 5 tadpoles out alive. I’m glad even for this result, as this is not a species of thousands of eggs. I hope the metamorphosis will go well.

Cruziohyla craspedopus, další pokus o rozmnožení, tentokrát úspěšný (zatím).

Po několika měsících jsem dospělce dala opět do dešťové komory. Zatím od nich byly dvě snůšky, obě neoplozené. Tentokrát se ale vejce začala vyvíjet. Dala jsem na rady ostatních chovatelů a jen jsem to s nimi zkoušela dál, nic jsem neměnila.

10 vajec se začalo vyvíjet, povedlo se z nich 5 pulců. Mám radost i z takového výsledku, protože to není druh tisíce pulců. Snad dopadne metamorfóza.

Breeding Scaphiophryne marmorata, part II.

Not even 24 hours after setting the rainchamber up and turning the rain non-stop, the eggs were layed.

Ani ne 24 hodin po zprovoznění dešťové komory a zapnutí deště bez přestávek, byla nakladena vajíčka.

Scaphiophryne marmorata breeding.

Simple set up of a rainchamber, few plants, elevated surfaces for frogs to rest. Simple pump for an imitation of rain.
Probably the most important factor - low air pressure and coming storm.

Rozmnožování Scaphiophryne marmorata.

Jednoduše zařízená dešťová komora, rostliny, vyvíšená místa na “odpočinek”. Čerpadlo pro imitaci deště.
Asi nejdůležitějším faktorem byl nízký tlak vzduchu a přicházející bouřka.

Already moved the froglets from last year together to a bigger terrarium. Some males already start to croak 👀.
