Gotta get it off my chest (again).
It's such a shame that people think that breeding kittens is so easy and that you earn money from it and it doesn't cost me much. This is incorrect.
Kittens (and other cats) need love and attention. This is very important young or old doesn't matter. Cats are very sensitive to stress.
They only get quality food here; dry and wet food but sometimes also normal meat.
When there is something wrong with them, they go to the vet and get the right care, even if it is on a Sunday. The car does not drive on water. Everything has become expensive these days.
When I purchase a new cat from abroad, I pay the breeder's price, which means much more. Transport costs are definitely not cheap either.
The cats are vaccinated, chipped, receive a passport, pedigree, they are dewormed and treated against fleas.
If one is pregnant, it will receive an ultrasound, kittens are examined to ensure they are healthy, and membership must be paid.
Their coat needs to be taken care of.
They have plenty of toys and sometimes get new ones. Scratching posts are not cheap and sometimes need to be replaced.
When I go away for a few days I got to pay the cat sitter.
Trying to sell a kitten cost time (some times it isn't easy to take pictures of them 🙈) and I pay for the pages I advertise them on (except fb).
Getting a kitten fixed isn't cheap. And if you don't want them to be fixed well then you pay for breeders price, very simple.
They can do an oepsie on my furniture (that is why I got a new (well second hand) couch this year).
I normally (not in this house, was planning for one but will wait till my next house move) got a kitten room.
They live in a clean house.
When it is cold and I got kittens then the heater goes up a bit to prevent them from getting a cold.
They have automatic feeding and drinking systems....
Have I forgotten anything? 🤔
If I would lower my price, you will also receive a cat that suits that price, but I cannot do this to the cat and my bank account does not allow me to be in the red.
A cat is not a thing.
