Have-a-Heart Namibia, saving lives through sterilisation, vaccination and essential medical care! THANK YOU!
This is the official page of the 'Have-a-Heart Namibia' project - a much needed project that allows us to provide free spay and neuter services to dogs and cats of low and no income families across Namibia, also in areas currently without veterinary services. Have-a-Heart is a registered non-profit organisation in Namibia (21/2014/0378) which aims to reduce stray animal populations in a sustainabl
e and humane way, thus eliminating the need for mass euthanasia. Since starting in 2013, Have-a-Heart has grown to having teams working in several towns across Namibia and has collectively sterilised nearly 26,000 animals (October 2025). The project is run by volunteers and fully dependent on donations - every cent of your donation is used for the welfare of Namibia's dogs and cats. Welcome to the family, funny guy with a great personality from Swakopmund :-D
The guest had a fight with the toilet roll last night 🤣🤣
He also finished all the food.
This adorable young boy got neutered (thank ypu Have a Heart Namibia - Spay and Neuter Project ) and got a stay over to recover from the anesthesia and to fill up his tummy. He also got flea treatment (he even had bite wounds from the fleas) and deworming
He is now ready to return home to DRC. Will leave food for him and luckily Donna Roslyn Collins does her rounds there regularly. He is lucky a boy without ⚾️⚾️

In Loving Memory of Renate Charlotte Else Raith
Today, we would like to honour a remarkable woman whose kindness continues to touch lives even after her passing. In lieu of flowers, Mrs Raith wished for donations to Have a Heart Namibia, a gesture that beautifully reflects her compassion and her love for Namibia's animals.
Thanks to her wish, 15 dogs and cats in Windhoek received their life-changing care:
🐾 8 dogs were sterilised, vaccinated, and treated for parasites during a Spay Day with Dr. Baines.
🐾 7 cats received their sterilisation, vaccination, and parasite treatment at the Windhoek Animal Hospital and the Windhoek Vet Clinic.
Every cent of the donations made in Mrs Raith’s memory went directly to helping these animals and their families. We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who honoured her wish and contributed, your kindness has made a meaningful difference and had an impact far beyond one moment.
Mrs Raith has left a lasting and meaningful legacy, one that improved lives for a long time. We are deeply grateful for the love and compassion she has shared with the world.
Our heartfelt condolences go to her family 💗

Welcome to the family in Swakopmund, beautiful Mia
No more copies of Mia 😺!
She got her uplifting and lifesaving spay operation yesterday (she got sterilised).
Mia lives in DRC township. Her people couldn't afford to have her sterilised - and BAM, instead of 1 cat there are 6. Impossible to properly feed and look after them....
That's why we jumped at the opportunity to get her and her kittens into foster care (thank you Cheryl for fostering them, and thank you Donna for alerting us to the little cat family).
For Mia this is like a stay in a luxury health resort with buffet food around the clock 😊.
Now she's spayed, she will be happier and healthier and there will be no more mini Mias. She will also need less food.
Thank you Have a Heart Namibia - Spay and Neuter Project for making it possible!
The little mini Mia next to her has already found a loving forever home with Selina together with a sibling 😺😺!
Thank you Selina for adopting responsibly (with an adoption contribution that helps to cover the costs of sterilisation and vaccination and a process that ensures that cats and adopters are a match)
and for adopting 2 kittens 😺😺.
This is how we can save many many lives cat for cat, kitten for kitten, when rescue, sterilisation and responsible adoption go hand in hand ✋️!

This is the official page of Have-a-Heart Namibia - a much needed project which provides free spay and neuter services for dogs and cats of low and no income families across Namibia in municipal townships and informal settlements, in some areas currently without any veterinary services whatsoever.
Have-a-Heart is a registered non-profit organisation in Namibia (21/2014/0378) which aims to reduce stray animal populations in a sustainable and humane way, thus eliminating the need for mass euthanasia.
Have a Heart is solely relying on donations and run by volunteers. All donations received are used for spay, neuter and necessary medication. Our volunteers go out of their way to improve the lives of animals in townships and informal settlements by providing advice and physical help to pet owners who would otherwise have no access to such information or service.
Since starting in 2013, Have-a-Heart has grown to having teams volunteering in several towns across Namibia and has collectively sterilised over 9,300 animals (May 2020).
Many veterinary clinics all over Namibia as well as Namibia’s one and only mobile clinic have partnered up with us in the fight against dog and cat overpopulation, and we hope for the future to grow as much as needed to be able to help every less fortunate dog and cat in Namibia!
