Have-a-Heart Namibia, saving lives through sterilisation, vaccination and essential medical care! THANK YOU!
This is the official page of the 'Have-a-Heart Namibia' project - a much needed project that allows us to provide free spay and neuter services to dogs and cats of low and no income families across Namibia, also in areas currently without veterinary services. Have-a-Heart is a registered non-profit organisation in Namibia (21/2014/0378) which aims to reduce stray animal populations in a sustainabl
e and humane way, thus eliminating the need for mass euthanasia. Since starting in 2013, Have-a-Heart has grown to having teams working in several towns across Namibia and has collectively sterilised nearly 26,000 animals (October 2025). The project is run by volunteers and fully dependent on donations - every cent of your donation is used for the welfare of Namibia's dogs and cats. Thank You, Animal Hospital - Windhoek
A huge thank you to Windhoek Animal Hospital for their generous donation of cat starter kits! These kits will help us care for the tiny kittens who have sadly lost their moms and need to be bottle-fed around the clock.
Volunteers have been looking after more and more orphaned kittens lately as it is kitten season, and your support means the world to us. With your help, we can give these little ones the best possible start in life.

From the youngest animal lovers to the most experienced pet owners — everyone in Arandis came together for this special Have a Heart Spay Day sponsored by Fondation Brigitte Bardot 🐾
These photos remind us that compassion, love, and responsibility for our pets don’t depend on age, they are values shared across generations. ❤️
Thank you to the wonderful community of Arandis for showing that when we care together, we create a kinder world for both animals and people.

Beautiful Perry also had his big make over last week at Elvira's Veterinary Practice. Welcome to the family, Perry!
We love that so many dogs in Otjwarongo have responsible owners who want the best for their dogs and Douglas is one of them!
Thank you so much to everyone for making it possible for Perry to become a Have a Heart family member

Today we honour and remember a very special person.
Therese Brits, whose kindness and compassion continue to make a difference for Namibia's dogs and cats every single day. 💖
Therese cared deeply about Namibia’s dogs and cats — she had a true love for every animal and a big heart for those who had no voice of their own. 🐾
Because of Therese's thoughtful legacy, over 250 dogs and cats in Kamanjab, Khorixas, Windhoek, Outjo, Otjiwarongo, Rehoboth, and Nkurenkuru have been helped to live healthier, happier lives and their families no longer have to worry about their pets’ health and safety.❤️
We know Therese would be so happy to see how much her kindness continues to change lives - not only for the animals she loved so dearly, but also for the caring owners who treasure them.
Her compassion lives on in every wagging tail, every gentle purr, and every act of kindness inspired by her memory.
Thank you, Therese, for trusting Have a Heart and for making the world a better place!💕

This is the official page of Have-a-Heart Namibia - a much needed project which provides free spay and neuter services for dogs and cats of low and no income families across Namibia in municipal townships and informal settlements, in some areas currently without any veterinary services whatsoever.
Have-a-Heart is a registered non-profit organisation in Namibia (21/2014/0378) which aims to reduce stray animal populations in a sustainable and humane way, thus eliminating the need for mass euthanasia.
Have a Heart is solely relying on donations and run by volunteers. All donations received are used for spay, neuter and necessary medication. Our volunteers go out of their way to improve the lives of animals in townships and informal settlements by providing advice and physical help to pet owners who would otherwise have no access to such information or service.
Since starting in 2013, Have-a-Heart has grown to having teams volunteering in several towns across Namibia and has collectively sterilised over 9,300 animals (May 2020).
Many veterinary clinics all over Namibia as well as Namibia’s one and only mobile clinic have partnered up with us in the fight against dog and cat overpopulation, and we hope for the future to grow as much as needed to be able to help every less fortunate dog and cat in Namibia!
