2023 summaries
Well wasn’t 23 a crap year, every thing that c go wrong did with drought and losing our agistment paddock and our main man for hay We were unable to get any good hay there was no feed in our paddocks and the hay that we did manage to get was love grass that has nothing in it at all. Then I thought I would move some of the girls to other people’s paddock thinking that there was enough goodness in their pastures but I was wrong on so many levels my girls came back sickly starved full of sand and botfly lava ☹️. I had to move on mares that I was not proud of because we couldn’t get any decent hay for them nor did we have the money. I have been ridiculed on fb by so many keyboard warriors claiming that I don’t care about my animals and I shouldn’t have them and I’m only in it for the money 😂 these people obviously have no idea how or what country life is like. I love my fur babies and use all of my money and anything I make on them to pay for the feed for anyway enough about that subject
We lost one brood mare and three foals due to the drought and lack of decent feed available to us wich was awful 😢 then came the storms that knocked down our fencing and stallions got out and caused havoc. But bring on 2024 the year of K**a we have a new hay man and his hay is brilliant the grass is growing but so the weeds lol I still haven’t been able to afford to get horses registered yet so I’m hoping to sell a few more foals and yearlings to pay for that and stock up on feed for winter. So to sum it up here’s hoping for a more positive year 😊
