🍁 Autumn is in full swing, which means that frosts will come very soon. It's time to think about warm clothes for our beloved pets!

🧥🧣 Yes, some dog breeds need winter gear no less than we do ourselves.

What kinds of dogs need warm clothes in winter?

🔸Small breeds: Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers, Toy Terriers and other miniature dogs whose bodies lose heat quickly. Therefore, these babies need warm overalls and sweaters.

🔸Shorthaired breeds: Dobermans, Boxers, Bulldogs, Smooth-haired Dachshunds, are colder than others because they do not have undercoats.

🔸Bald breeds: Chinese Cresteds and Mexican Naked Dogs are completely devoid of hair so they need high-quality protection from wind and frost.

🔸Puppies and older dogs: Young dogs and older pets are less tolerant to low temperatures so extra clothing protects them from hypothermia and colds.

🔸Urban residents: Dogs accustomed to living in comfortable apartment conditions often do not adapt well to sudden temperature changes and need additional protection.

☝ Remember, taking care of your pet is the key to their good health and good mood, even in the coldest weather!

🐱 Cats are creatures of habit. The slightest changes in their lives can turn into real stress. In healthy cats, stress can cause loss of appetite or a change in eating behavior. It disrupts intestinal function, causing constipation or diarrhea.

⚡ Prolonged stress can provoke: gastritis; stomach ulcer; vomiting; general weakness.

What can cause stress in a cat?

It is extremely important for cats to feel safe and stable in their familiar environment. Any changes in their routine can be a source of stress, even minor ones like:
🔹rearrangement of furniture;
🔹the appearance of new things;
🔹changing the daily routine.

More serious events, such as repairs or moving to another home, often cause great anxiety to pets. Stress can also be caused by the emotional state of the animal.

🔺A feeling of loneliness. Domestic cats react sharply to the lack of attention from their owners. It is especially difficult for animals to be away for a long time or lose loved ones they were attached to.
🔺 Fear. A cat may be scared by a regular noise or smell, aggressive behavior of people or other animals in the house.
🔺Jealousy. Often, the reason for jealousy is the appearance of a child or new pet in the family. The cat sees this as a threat to their status and fights for the owner's attention.

Why is walking a dog useful for every owner?

🚶🐕 Walking with four-legged friends has long been an integral part of our daily lives. But have you ever wondered how useful these daily rituals are not only for the pet, but also for the owner himself?

Let's look at the main benefits of walking a dog:

1️⃣ Improving physical health. Regular walks help maintain physical activity, strengthen the cardiovascular system, promote weight loss and improve overall well-being.

2️⃣ Vitamin D and fresh air. During walks, the body receives the necessary dose of vitamin D due to sunlight, which strengthens the immune system and improves mood.

3️⃣ Psychological health. Going outside helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Communication with an animal promotes the production of happiness hormones - endorphins.

4️⃣ Socialization. A walk becomes an opportunity to make new acquaintances among breeders, discuss interesting aspects of care and upbringing of pets.

5️⃣ Strengthen the bond with your pet. Joint walks bring the owner and animal closer, forming trust and mutual understanding.

So don't be lazy, go for a walk with your faithful friend! After all, the benefits are obvious for both of you.

And how much time, on average, do you spend walking your dog? Share in the comments 👇

🐕🐈 Do our furry friends understand when we call them by their first names? Let's find out!

Cats 🐱

Research shows that cats are really capable of recognizing their names. However, they respond to them selectively. This is because cats perceive the sound of their name as a sign of attention rather than a personal appeal. They might turn their heads or move their ears slightly to indicate that they heard you, but they aren't always in a rush to approach.

👉 Why is this? It's just the nature of cats - they're solitary hunters and less dependent on social interactions than dogs. For them, it's important to hear your voice, but there's no need to approach them every time.

Dogs 🐶

Dogs respond to their names much faster and more often. The reason for this is simple: dogs are social animals who focus on interacting with humans. Their brains are tuned to actively perceive commands and signals from their owners. Regular use of a dog's name during training forms a stable connection between the sound and the action.

☝ However, even the most well-behaved dog sometimes ignores an invitation to play or go for a walk. This is not a sign of disobedience, but rather a reflection of the dog's own desires and needs.

What are the names of your furry friends? Do they frequently respond to them? Share your experiences in the comments below!

Dogs are prone to depressive states - these are the conclusions of modern veterinary science. These intelligent animals have a complex emotional system that allows them to experience not only joy and excitement, but also deep sadness, longing, and apathy.

The main symptoms of depression in dogs include ⤵️

🔹 Changes in activity, decreased interest in games and walks, a decrease in mobility and proactivity.
🔹 Unwillingness to follow commands or participate in usual activities.
🔹 Increased drowsiness or anxiety.
🔹 Less interaction with others and decreased social activity.
🔹 Loss of energy and motivation for exercise.
🔹 Appetite disorders, including refusal to eat or an increase in food intake, loss of interest in favorite treats or familiar food, irregular meals, eating at unusual times, skipping meals, reduced water consumption, digestive problems such as constipation or diarrhea, emotional changes such as lethargy, irritability, or aggression.
🔹Avoiding contact with humans and other animals, seeking privacy.
🔹Whining, gratuitous howling, or other audible symptoms of discomfort.
🔹Sudden aggression or bouts of fear.
🔹Decreased response to commands and names, which may indicate an internal depressed state.
🔹Deterioration of coat condition — dullness, loss, lack of shine. Digestive disorders — constipation, diarrhea, vomiting or flatulence.
🔹Frequent excessive licking or scratching, sometimes leading to skin damage.
🔹Changes in body language: crouched posture, lowered head, tucked tail, avoiding eye contact.

Treatment of depression in dogs depends on the causes of this condition. If you cannot cope on your own, contact zoologists or veterinaries for comprehensive treatment.

TOP 6️⃣ Tips on How to Calm a Pet during Stress

Our pets can also experience stress. The psychological state of animals can be influenced by many factors: moving, thunderclaps, visits to the vet, the appearance of new family members or unfamiliar guests.

Here are proven ways to quickly restore calm to your four-legged friend ⬇️

🔸Create a cozy shelter. A quiet and comfortable place where a pet can comfortably settle down and relax.
🔸 Let it be alone. If the animal wants to hide, do not interfere. Sometimes, loneliness helps restore strength.
🔸Use pheromones. Diffusers, aroma lamps, and special anti-stress collars help reduce an animal's anxiety level.
🔸Offer a treat. A favorite treat often has a calming effect and lifts an animal's mood.
🔸Watch their diet. A balanced diet strengthens a nervous system and improves overall health.
🔸Play with your pet. Playing together, either active or intellectually, distracts attention and reduces anxiety.

And how do you cope with stress in your pet?
