Happy Easter to everyone with these beautiful flowers 🌷🌷🌷
Restoration of this I. L. Jensen flower painting has been a joy. The surface was so dull and covered in dark dirt and from a long life hanging on a wall.
Despite it’s age it was in very good condition - and the frame too 🌷🌷🌷

Customers often ask me just to repair the damage/ tear in a canvas without cleaning the painting.
This is a classical example of why it very often doesn’t work.
Even working very carefully around a tear with glue etc. it will create a slight halo around the area as surface dirt has been removed.

Little landscape. “Gels Å” in Jutland, Denmark.
Such a joy to “release” the surface from so much dirt and yellow, stuck varnish.

“Roskilde Havn” by Danish painter Ole Ring.
Though it didn’t seem awfully dirty or with yellow varnish it changed the light and colours incredibly.

Beautiful little painting of horses. Painted on paper but mounted on canvas.
An accident has damaged only the paper leaving a large tear and a bulgy surface in the damaged area as well as bad adhesion to the canvas.

Me and my daughter are so proud to present this exibition in our little gallery next door from my workshop.

Painting by Danish artist Kehnet Nielsen.
Painted on a very rough canvas, it had several tears and holes and it was extremely bulgy.
First photo: after working on the bulges, remounting on the stretcher with a supporting canvas underneath.

Ludvig Carsten “Starry Night”.
Very damaged painting after years on the attic.
Though it was a partly conservative restoration, it was such a joy to bring this back to life again, giving it a new canvas support (lining), cleaning all the dirt off the surface and reconstructing some of the missing canvas pieces.
A challenge and a great joy too.

Painted on cupper plate. Several damages and old restorations and a dark layer of var ish and dirt had to be restored.
