My name is Kelly Leisten and I am a professional dog trainer offering group classes and private training sessions to dogs and their families. I serve towns on the Connecticut Shoreline, including Branford, Clinton, Guilford, Madison, Old Saybrook and Westbrook, as well as Deep River, Durham, Essex

and Killingworth. With positive reinforcement training, I help dogs and their owners learn the skills to feel comfortable and safe navigating their world together. I have extensive experience working with dogs who are fearful, anxious, worried or reactive in their environment, in addition to dogs who need help with focus and impulse control.

Welcome to Applaud the Dog! My name is Kelly Leisten. I am a certified professional dog trainer offering group classes and private training sessions to dogs who may be fearful, anxious worried, reactive or aggressive. Using positive reinforcement training, I provide reliable solutions for issues such as paying attention around distractions; lunging, barking & growling; pulling on the leash; aggression towards dogs and people; aggression and guarding around food, toys, people and space; mouthing, nipping & play biting; jumping; digging & chewing; and more!
