Cuidado con la arena caliente: puede quemar sus almohadillas.

Aunque a ti te encante caminar descalzo por la playa, recuerda que el suelo puede alcanzar temperaturas muy altas en verano.

Si no puedes apoyar tu mano durante más de 5 segundos... ¡tu perrito tampoco debería caminar ahí!

¡Mi perro se ha tragado un calcetín!

Esta consulta es más frecuente de lo que parece a simple vista, ¿debemos preocuparnos?

Lo primero de todo es mantener la calma y, en ningún caso, intentar que vomite el calcetín en casa ya que podría causarle daño. Para estar tranquilos y evitar males mayores, es aconsejable contactar de urgencia con tu veterinario para que realice cualquier intervención necesaria. 🙌

🐱🍬 Muchos gatos parecen sentir atracción por lo dulce, pero… ¿realmente pueden saborearlo? 🤔

A diferencia de los humanos, los gatos tienen un sistema gustativo diferente que les impide percibir el sabor dulce como nosotros.

Esto se debe a una mutación genética que hace que carezcan de los receptores necesarios para percibir este sabor.

¿Tu compañero se rasca más de lo normal? ¿Estornuda o se lame constantemente?
Puede que no sea "una manía más"... 👉 Podría estar sufriendo una alergia (y muchas veces pasa desapercibida).

En primavera, los casos se disparan y es clave saber detectar las señales a tiempo. Rascado excesivo, oídos rojos, lagrimeo, picores, vómitos… no siempre son síntomas aislados.

Si tienes sospecha, lo mejor es acudir a tu veterinario, porque prevenir es cuidar… y tus decisiones pueden mejorar (mucho) su bienestar 🐶🐱

Eso es el FRAP (Frenetic Random Activity Periods), también conocido como “la hora loca” de los gatos 🕺🐾

Es completamente normal y les ayuda a liberar energía acumulada. Así que no te preocupes, tu gato está perfectamente bien… solo que en modo turbo 😼

Lava los platos de tu perro, ya coma pienso o dieta natural (en ésta más importante aún), para evitar que se forme biofilm e ingiera esos microorganismos cada vez que vuelva a comer o beber de ese plato sucio 🧼🙏🏻

Mantener sus ojos sanos es clave para su bienestar y para evitar problemas futuros. 🐶🐱 Perros y gatos pueden sufrir diversas afecciones oculares que, si no se tratan a tiempo, pueden causar complicaciones serias.

Problemas comunes:
Conjuntivitis, Úlceras corneales, Glaucoma, Cataratas...

¿Cómo puedes prevenir infecciones oculares?
💧 Limpia suavemente el área de los ojos con gasas húmedas para evitar la acumulación de secreciones o polvo.
🚫 Evita que tu peludo se frote los ojos en exceso, ya que puede causar irritación o heridas.
🧼 Mantén su cara limpia y libre de cuerpos extraños, especialmente si tiene pelaje largo que cubre sus ojos.
👨‍⚕️ Si notas signos de irritación o secreciones anormales, ¡consulta con tu veterinario cuanto antes!

Common problems:
Conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, glaucoma, cataracts...

How can you prevent eye infections?
💧 Gently clean the eye area with moist gauze to prevent the buildup of secretions or dust.
🚫 Prevent your pet from rubbing their eyes excessively, as this can cause irritation or wounds.
🧼 Keep their face clean and free of foreign bodies, especially if they have long fur covering their eyes.
👨‍⚕️ If you notice signs of irritation or abnormal secretions, consult your veterinarian as soon as possible!

Aquí os dejamos medidas de protección frente a parásitos internos y externos 👇

✅ Utiliza siempre un antiparasitario externo con efecto repelente y un antiparasitario interno como medida preventiva.
✅ Desparasita con la regularidad que indique tu veterinario para mantener a raya pulgas, garrapatas, mosquitos, flebotomos, cestodos y nematodos.
✅ No dejes que tu perro o gato laman platos o cubiertos que luego usarán personas (¡aunque los laves!).
✅ Si tienes peques en casa, enséñales a lavarse bien las manos y la cara tras tocar a los animales.
✅ Si vais a viajar, infórmate antes: algunos parásitos son endémicos de ciertas zonas. ¡Protégele!

✅ Don't let your dog or cat lick dishes or cutlery that will later be used by people (even if you wash them!).
✅ If you have small children at home, teach them to wash their hands and faces thoroughly after touching the animals.
✅ If you're traveling, find out beforehand: some parasites are endemic to certain areas. Protect them!

Hoy te dejamos unos consejos esenciales para mantener las almohadillas de las patas de tu perro en plena forma y evitar lesiones:
🐾 Masajea las almohadillas de tu perro con un bálsamo reparador o hidratante.
🐾 Ponle unas botas adecuadas para los paseos por la nieve o por caminos helados.
🐾 Lava las patas de tu perro después de cada paseo.
🐾 Acuérdate de recortar el pelo entre las almohadillas.
