La "Sociedad Protectora para Animales de Torrevieja" (o S.A.T.) es una institución benéfica cuyo objetivo consiste en aliviar el problema local de los perros perdidos y abandonados. Fue formada en 1992 por un grupo de personas con ideas afines y se registró en Valencia como organización benéfica con el nº: 3463. También está registrada en el Ayuntamiento de Torrevieja.
S.A.T. fue fundada en 1992 gracias a un grupo de personas de todas las nacionalidades que vieron la necesidad de crear un santuario para los perros abandonados que vagaban por las calles de Torrevieja. Hoy en día, con su perrera en Dolores, sigue siendo una organización multinacional y una institución benéfica de la Comunidad Valenciana. Nuestro objetivo es evitar el sufrimiento innecesario y buscar un hogar a muchos de los perros abandonados en la zona de la Costa Blanca. Ya no sólo cubrimos Torrevieja, sino que hasta nos piden ayuda en Murcia y en otros lugares más al interior como Pinoso y Sax. Por suerte, ahora hay más lugares como nosotros que acogen animales abandonados y así podemos encargarnos más fácilmente de los problemas inmediatos de la Vega Baja.
Contamos con una gran cantidad de voluntarios que hacen casi cualquier cosa con tal de que sea feliz la estancia de nuestros "huéspedes" en Dolores. Están quienes pasean a los perros, quienes recogen las cacas, quienes los lavan, quienes trabajan en la tienda, quienes recogen fondos,... En general todo lo que tiene que ver con colaboración. Aunque nunca está de más contar con más ayuda y siempre hacen falta voluntarios para nuestras tiendas de Guardamar, Urb La Marina, San Luis, Los Montesinos, Cabo Roig, Benimar y San Miguel para recoger fondos. Dado que éstas son nuestras únicas fuentes de ingresos, toda esta parte de SAT es importante.
Si puede ayudarnos de alguna manera, por favor, llame a la perrera al 966 710 047 y le pondrán en contacto con la correspondiente persona. Pero acuérdese de que hay un contestador automático, así que siga las instrucciones que se indican en el mensaje ya que el personal puede estar trabajando por ahí y no responder a su llamada en ese instante.
El refugio de Dolores sólo está destinado para perros, pero SAT ayuda a otros animales cuando es necesario. Trabajamos estrechamente con otras organizaciones benéficas e individuos que tratan con otro tipo de animales, así que, aunque no podamos alojarlos, podemos aconsejarles si así lo desea.
SAT es una organización sin ánimos de lucro. Recaudamos fondos de distintos eventos como cenas con baile, exposiciones caninas, ventas benéficas, ferias y, por supuesto, donaciones.

Today, with its kennels at in Dolores, it is still a multi-national organisation and a registered charity with the Valencian Community. Our aim is to prevent unnecessary suffering and rehome the many abandoned dogs within the Costa Blanca area. No longer do we only cover Torrevieja, we have cries for help from as far as Murcia and as far inland as Pinoso and Sax. Luckily for us, there are now more places like ours that take in abandoned animals and we can deal with the immediate problems in the Vega Baja area more readily.
We have a huge amount of volunteers who do just about anything to make the stay of our 'guests' at Dolores a happy one. Dog walkers, poo-picker-uppers, washing hanger-outers, shop workers, fundraisers and general all round helpers. We can always do with more help though and volunteers are also always needed to help in our shops at Guardamar, Urb La Marina,San Luis, Los Montesinos, Cabo Roig, Benimar and San Miguel, and to fundraise. As these are our only sources of income, this side of SAT is all important.

Ueber Uns
S.A.T. (Sociedad Protectora para Animales de Torrevieja) ist ein eingetragener Verein der es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat das Problem streunender und ausgesetzter Hunde zu bessern. S.A.T. wurde im Jahre 1992 von einigen Tierfreunden gegruendet und wurde in –Valencia unter der Nr. 3463 als gemeinnuetziger Verein registriert. Außerdem sind wir im Rathaus von Torrevieja eingetragen.
Der Verein wurde von einer Internationalen Gruppe von Tierfreunden gegruendet die der Meinung waren das es an der Zeit ist den notleidenden Tieren zu helfen und ihnen ein neues Zuhause zu geben . Heute haben wir unser Tierheim in Dolores das zur Zeit bis zu 70 Tieren ein voruebergehendes Heim geben kann.
Unser Ziel ist es diesen Tieren unnoetiges Leid zu ersparen, sie Tieraerztlich zu versorgen und so viele Tiere wie moeglich an ein neues Zuhause zu vermitteln. Laengst sind es nicht mehr nur die Tiere von Torrevieja, Hilferufe aus der ganzen Region erreichen uns und wir versuchen so vielen Tieren wie moeglich zu helfen. Gott sei dank gibt es heute schon mehrere Tierschutz Vereine und auch Tierheime an der Costa Blanca so dass wir bei viele Problemen im Bereich Vega Baja behilflich sein koennen.
Wir haben eine große Anzahl freiwilliger Helfer die alles tun um unseren Tieren den Aufenthalt in unserem Heim so angenehm wie nur moeglich zu machen. Spaziergaenger, Pfleger, Reinigungshilfen, Shophelfer, Helfer die alles tun das noetige Kapital aufzubringen und viele Tierfreunde die unsere Arbeit unterstuetzen, helfen mit für die uns anvertrauten Tiere das Bestmoegliche zu tun. Auch in unserem Shop in Guardamar, Urb La Marina,San Luis, Los Montesinos, Cabo Roig, Benimar and San Miguel wird immer Hilfe benoetigt. Da wir keinerlei finanzielle Unterstuetzung bekommen sind diese Einnahmen für uns sehr wichtig.
