Today our kennel worker Vanesa has the pleasure of introducing beautiful LENA to you! Lena came to SOS Galgos from Sevilla where she was used for hunting, until they she was no longer useful to her hunter and was abandoned as if she were trash. She is only 4 years old and is little bit scared because of everything she has gone through. Lena needs a family to give her the patience and needed to trust men. Gaviota es una preciosa galga que llegó hace una semana al refugio desde Badajoz. Como casi todos,su historia comienza siendo un descarte del mundo de la caza. Gaviota tiene 3 años y es muy cariñosa y simpática. Se lleva muy bien con otros perros, aunque no es apta con gatos.

Gaviota is a beautiful galga who arrived a week ago to the shelter from Badajoz. Like almost all of them, her story begins as a discard from the hunting world. Gaviota is 3 years old and is very affectionate and friendly. She gets along very well with other dogs, although she is not suitable with cats.

Anoche nuestros valientes miembros de equipo Sara, Julia y Esteban de SOS Galgos condujeron toda la noche para llevar a 8 galgos supervivientes del mundo de la caza desde nuestro refugio escuela en Barcelona hasta el aeropuerto de Madrid para volar a Chicago.
Hoy gracias a Daphne Legacy Tour y American Greyhound viajarán a Chicago donde empezarán una nueva vida llena de cariño.

Last night our brave activists Sara, Julia and Esteban from SOS Galgos drove all night to take 8 surviving galgos from the hunting world from our shelter in Barcelona to Madrid Airport to fly to Chicago.
Today thanks to Daphne Legacy Tour and American Greyhound they will travel to Chicago where they will start a new life full of tender loving care.

Our founder Anna Clements talks about the generous campaign donated by the agency @Millero_oconnor "We sh*t on Law 07/2023" to protest against the controversial Law which excludes all hunting and working dogs and leaves them completely vulnerable. To make matters worse, the hunting season has just begun and so has the massive abandonment of galgos.

Snow White and Luke arrived at SOS Galgos this Wednesday, both handed over to our charity, sadly a form of abandonment. In this country the law does not protect working dogs and in most cases we are the ones who pick up the pieces, saving them from a worse fate... Luke is 9 years old and Snow White is 7 but they still have many years ahead and we will find them good homes, where they can enjoy a life full of the attention and love which they deserve. A pesar de que la furgoneta de SOS Galgos tuvo un problema mecánico y que el equipo sufrió por llegar a tiempo al aeropuerto, tras conducir toda la noche de Bcn a Madrid, todos los perros partieron con tranquilidad y gracias a la colaboración de Ale en el aeropuerto y de las madrinas Angie y Natalie.

We had a mechanical problem with the van whilst driving to Madrid airport from Barcelona overnight and struggled to get to the airport in time for the dogs’ flight to Miami 😅. The dogs left safely thanks to the team’s dedication and hard work and to Ale's support at the airport and GIM’s amazing flight buddies Angie and Natalie.
As always, the team at Greyhounds in Motion were there to greet them at their arrival and ensure that each of these precious galgo survivors, once saved off the streets of Spain will now go to the most loving homes.
