Yesterday Bobby had his first ferret show when Näätä Hässäkkä took place in Mäntsälä. He behaved very nicely and charmed the judges too. 🥰

This was my first ferret show in three and a half years (I think?)! Those who know me better also knows that I used to be a very active participator in shows here in Finland (also Estonia and some times in Sweden, Norway and even Denmark). But then I got my first born child, then there was covid-19… there was a long break from shows and other ferret related things. Covid-19 made the whole finnish ferret community to fade and suddenly we were in the situation that when before people had to be fast to get their registrations in time for 100 or even 150 ferrets shows, now it was hard to even get 50 ferrets participating. This is very sad and I really hope new enthusiasts will revive the shows again. These are great events to meet and get to know other people with the same passion for ferrets.
Many of my ferrets got older and passed away during this break and I also got my second born child. I somehow lost the spark to my most important hobby since 2005. But something happened when Bobby came. Yesterday it felt so good to meet some of the old hobbyists and friends. There are atleast two more shows upcoming later this year and I think I will enroll a ferret or two... It would be lovely to meet Bobby’s relatives and of course to see my own kits from the past years who are still here. ❤️
