FI Lolcat's Cattery

FI Lolcat's Cattery A small FIFe cattery in Kruunupyy - breeding Russian Blues Lolcat's is a small FIFe registered cattery from Kruunupyy, Finland. I go to cat shows actively.

I register my cats in FIFe, but I also occasionally show my cats in TICA and CFA. Cat is a social and fairly easy pet, but it is a living creature, and regardless of the breed requires daily care. Cats can easily live for 20 years, so taking a cat should always be thought throughly through. All my cats go outside only in leash or outside cat run, and the same apply to all cats sold by me. I do hea

lth tests for the parents, but despite this it is always possible that a cat gets sick, or has an accident, just like us humans. Important part of cat welfare is loving and safe home. I wish to select homes for my fur babies carefully, and I always want to know what kind of family/person wants to buy my kitten. If possible, I always wish to meet the buyers personally, and they are welcome to visit my cattery to see the babies themselves after they turn 4 weeks. If agreement is made, then a deposit will be payed, and the remaining price will be paid when cat moves to new home. All the kittens moving to new homes will be:
- at least 14 weeks old
- registered to Suomen Kissaliitto (FIFe)
- microchipped
- vaccinated agains cat flu, panleucopenia (and rabies if needed)
- dewormed
- have a health certificate from vet (& pet passport if needed)
- used to handling and normal family life

Sometimes I might also have some adult cats looking for a new home. I want to breed cats according to standard who are very social and have nice temperament. Cats are beloved family members and participate in all chores and get used to handling from the start. My cats enjoy the outside world in leash, never free. Personally I think that the most important feature of a pet is the temperament. Before pursuing my dream of veterinarian, I got a Master's degree from the university and I majored in applied zoology and animal biotechnology. Through my studies health and genetics has always been very close to my heart. In my breeding I really want to focus on the health and temperament of the cats. Especially Russian Blues, some of them are shy in new places and towards new people and I think breeders should focus more on improving also the temperament, not just looks. I also want to improve the genetic diversity of the breeds by keeping the inbreeding-% low and importing new blood from abroad. I am secretary in my own cat club (ISROK, Cat club of eastern Finland) and I'm usually always working at shows. I am the chair of a Finnish Russian blue club (Suomen Venäjänsiniser ry). I'm in the committee of health and education and in the editorial board of Cat-magazine (Kissa-lehti) and in addition I have been in the board of the Finnish Cat Union (Suomen Kissaliitto). In 2019 I became Internal FIFe judge in category 3 and am a student in category 4.
