Concratulations to Kelmi C-litter 10yrs today! Spinifex Heili -Straitbay Cash litter has been one i really, really like. Still going strong!
They work mostly on cattle farms: on highlanders, charolais, milking cattle etc. With Coora i competed highest level cattle and sheep, and this litter we have atm. are Coora's progeny on third generation.

Tuoni's puppis grow well, they are silent, happy litter. All pups are over 500g and biggest gorl allready 731g.
In the evening is Gudrun's ultrasound, exiting!

Tuonen pennut kasvavat hyvin ja ovat hiljainen, tyytyväinen pentue. Kaikki ovat ylittäneet 500g painon, suurin jo 731g.

All 7 puppies have started adding weight nicely and Tuoni has settled to be a perfect mama. I just wonder how in earth these little sweetlings have ever fit inside her just two days ago?

My first litter 20 yrs ago was quite unreal intoduction to breeding. Monday, early afternoon, 6 puppies in little over one hour. Easy, effective delivery.

After that all next 33 have taken some nighttime, had longer pauses between puppies, few problematic ones with big heads/ big puppies and nothing as fast and smooth as the first time. Perhaps Bamba Meg was the second easiest and fastest. And I'm not saying that kelpies are poor at giving birth. They are athletic and natural. But still, usually it takes one whole night to deliver a litter.

This nr. 34 is nearly as easy as the first, so it wasn't total unicorn! Tuoni(K. Rohto) has delivered 5 puppies in one hour. There is still some on way, so i hope all goes well to the end.

Here we go!
Tuoni has delivered 3 b/t puppies in 20 minutes, 2 girls and one boy atm.

Allmost two weeks left. Tuoni is still hard working mama. Guess how many puppies there is gonna be? Due around 15.1.25. Sire is Kvigsbetets Jack from Sweden.

Kelmi Gudrun- Lekebergas Tex litter expected in late february 2025. Both parents are mature, proven working dogs with long carrier as farmdogs with cattle & sheep and good results on herding trials. They have natural, open, searcing cast and enough power and trainability.

Tuoni has many little rascals in her belly!
We are expecting litter Kelmi Rohto - Kvigsbetet Jack.
Tuoni is my sons's workmate and works on our farm daily with sheep & cattle. She has soft, open flanks, plenty of eye, is easy to train but not too sensitive to handler. She gives naturally time to animals but can force If needed. Smaller size pocket rocket, very social to people and playful. Has done PPR (herding breeding test) on sheep.

Jack is handsome, long legged type. Works mainly with cattle. He has educated lots of heifers and is more moving and collecting type than Tuoni. Jack has done VPR on Sweden.

Both has good health records.
I expect progeny to be suitable for many types of farmwork.

Immi 6 months herding rams of the same age. This is her first time herding in forest. Rams are lazy and heavy to lift, so she learns some patience, focus and starts to alternate eye and sidemovement. We have pretty muddy fields now, but in forest it's nice to walk, and it gives rams some good snacks.

Competition Day!
BC/AK First class (100m outrun, lift, fetch, driving away 100m, 1 gate, driving 200m with 1 gate, penning, inside work in pen, sheep out & gather)
Dogyeller Lempo 2.nd with 79 points, PPR (working test passed for breeding), PAIM 1 (qalificatuin to 2nd class). So calm and collected, strong work. I'm very happy with her 💚.
Kelmi Vellamo PPR, Vellamo had some difficulties facing few sheep that were determined to return to pit area. That costed a lot of points in every turn, but she hold her sheep and did whole course.

Milla Pannimaa & Kelmi Pakana did great trial ending to 2nd place with PPR and PAIM1.
Allso Minna Lepistö & Kelmi Lieto, Milla Pannimaa & Kelmi Fala, Anu Airasmaa & Kelmi Saarahkka and Niko-Petteri Salo & Kelmi Mannun Eukko did good runs in same class. Congratulations to everyone, so great to see you on trial field ✨.

The biggest success of day came with Masa on second class. (Outrun 150m, lift, fetch through gates, driving away handler standing on post 200m through 2 gates, driving 100m, shedding, penning) He has been in too high state of mind during the summer trials, which has caused some inaccuracy and difficulty in maintaining a steady pace. Today, a perfect, obedient, calm and determined dog started the competition, who accepted every whistle , every command and walked the sheep in good lines so that my heart was bursting with pride. I led crossdrive a little over the line, but it wasn't the dog's fault. The close jobs were handled efficiently and the familiar V8 engine started to growl a bit, but it remained under control. Masa got 79p, and lost the victory to Sanna Vähä-Pietilä and Kelmi Hiippo by one point. I am also very proud of Sanna's and Hiippo's great trial and great competition, Kelmi kelpies Rules! 🌟🌟
