The joys of owning a cat. We have a large outdoor catio where the cats have fun playing and sometimes hunting for natural food such as mice. Bea caught one mouse and of course brought it to the kitchen table. Then the mouse escaped under the cupboards where we got it out. After that, Bea caught the mouse again and took it to the sofa, where the mouse escaped inside the sofa. We had to take the whole couch apart to get the mouse out. After that, Bea finished the mouse. And when we dismantled the couch, we found three dead mice in addition to one almost dead mouse. Apparently, the cats had been playing with the mice on the sofa earlier.
