Great to be back with my first fortnightly ‘Trails & Tails’ Structured Training Walks of 2025! 🐕 🌳 ⭐️

This weekend, our sweet Faolan, 16 years young, made his way to heaven to join his beloved fur brother Harry 💕 Faolan was the very essence of love and loyalty wrapped in fur. He showed us the kind of love only a dog can—pure, unconditional, and unwavering.

Though his joints were stiff and his body tired, I truly believe Faolan stayed on as long as he could by my mum’s side after Harry passed, offering comfort and companionship. When he knew she was stronger and as ready as she could be, he peacefully joined Harry in heaven, reunited with his best friend.

Until we meet again - give Harry a lick from us - and maybe take it easy on the angels!

We love you both, forever and always❤️

I got to help this beautiful Bohemian Shepherd dog the other day with his anxiety and reactivity around other doggies ⭐️

Churro is a very sweet boy and has a lovely bond with his owner. But like many herding breeds, they’re bred to be alert and responsive to their surroundings, so we worked on both management techniques and utilising training strategies to help manage his hypersensitivity 💫 Keep up the great work, you handsome furry boy! 🤩 💕

It was great to see the very handsome Biscuit again the other day for his private training session! 💕 🤩

I was extremely impressed to see the progress he and his lovely owners have made since I last saw them! He is so much calmer and has fantastic focus! 💫 👏

I’m really looking forward to him joining my ‘Trails & Tails’ Structured Group Training Walk this weekend to put everything he’s learnt into practice, and to build on his calmness, confidence and engagement, all whilst having fun and socialising neutrally! 🐕 🌳

I had the pleasure of giving little Noínín and her owners a private training session on the weekend! 🐶

She’s lost a little confidence and become a little reactive to other dogs since they moved here from abroad. So we worked on the essential loose-lead walking to help ensure they aren’t ‘feeding’ her reactivity by letting her pull ahead in high-arousal, as well as practicing training techniques, such as the ‘Look At That’ game to help change her emotional response around dogs and to build more positive associations for her ⭐️

I look forward to seeing her soon on my ‘Trails & Tails’ Group Structured Walks to continue to help building her confidence and put everything into practice! 🤓😍 Well done Noínín! 💕

What’s more, proceeds from EVERY walk will go to the wonderful French Riviera Animals Association! 🙏🏻

⭐️ Great for dogs and people wanting to grow calmness and confidence around others

⭐️ Great for practicing loose-lead handling skills and building focus and engagement

⭐️ Great for meeting like-minded people and creating a lovely supportive community of walkers

⭐️ Great for gradually counter-conditioning and desensitising our dogs to other dogs in a semi-controlled environment

➡️ The fortnightly group walk takes place in a range of different locations all within a 5km radius of Antibes.

➡️ Dogs will be kept on-lead and owners are encouraged to allow space according to their dog’s needs. There will also be an ‘Enrichment stop’ included where we can practice our dog’s ‘settles’ around one another. So please feel free to bring a cushion, flask of tea/coffee for yourself and something to lie on and chew/lick for your furry friend! 💕

N.B. If you feel it is too soon for you and your dog to join an on-lead group walk, please feel free to get in touch regarding my 4-week intensive courses and 1-2-1 training sessions. Many of my clients who have attended the courses in the past will be coming on these walks as they now feel more equipped as they have already primed their dogs with skills of engagement and focus, as well as having worked on counter-conditioning exercises etc., so they have the foundations to put their new skills into practice 💪🏻

A little about me:
My name is Tracey of Affinity4paws, and I am a dog sitter and trainer of over 20 years, based in Antibes. I am officially licensed in France (ACACED accreditation), fully insured (MMA), hold a Masters in Psychology and Animal Studies (MSc), a diploma in Dog Training and am certified in Canine First Aid. As a dog trainer, I provide bespoke 1-2-1 as well as group sessions based on positive reinforcement and games-based concept training. I am a relationship-based trainer and work on the cooperative relationship between the owner and their dog to achieve mutually beneficial results, whilst at the same time enhancing and strengthening the relationship. I have extensive experience working in Devon, New York, London and now the South of France with all different breeds, and some high-calibre clients, most recently helping to train Stella McCartney’s gorgeous Collie in London. As a dog sitter I provide a home-from-home for your beloved furries, with atleast four walks per day and I only care for up to three dogs at a time to ensure maximum tummy tickles and attention for your VIP’s 🥰

Firstly, thank you to the amazing French Riviera Animals Association for finding this beautiful boy his forever home and funding training help for him! 🙏🏻⭐️

I was so happy to finally meet the very gorgeous and ‘quasi-famous’ Biscuit for a great private training session this week! 😜🥰

Not only is he just a bit handsome, he’s very intelligent and eager to please. The bond he’s formed already with his wonderful adoptive fur-parents in just a month and a half is amazing to see 🥹

He’s a big ball of energy and lacks some skills in processing new stimuli calmly. So we worked on the essential loose-lead walk to help the owners establish their loving leadership as well as helping him to lower his arousal levels. We also worked on techniques to build engagement so he finds it easier to disengage from his triggers, as well as practicing a great training game that helps change his emotional state to anything he finds anxious passing by 💪🏻🤩

He did such a great job, I am very proud of him, and so happy to see such a wonderful family come together ❤️
