Abby 🥰
You can always tell if a dog is a puppy university graduate!
Look how calm and relaxed Abby is with the whole grooming process, she comes in with her tail wagging and she is confident and happy to be in the salon.
Puppy orientation sessions can be booked via our website for puppies aged 12 wks and up (after their second vaccination) and we recommend starting them as soon as possible.

Bo’s puppy introduction
Getting your puppy happy and comfortable with a groomer is vital, especially in breeds such as doodles, Shihtzu, etc that require regular grooming.
Bo came to see us today for her first grooming experience, at 12 weeks this is the perfect time to start. Everything is new and exciting and puppies are open and accepting of these new experiences and when handled with patience these sessions will build confidence that lasts a lifetime.
We are seeing a lot of dogs owners at the moment who have been misinformed, and are not contacting groomers until their pup is five or six months old, sometimes older. At this age the brains window for learning has closed and dogs are naturally more wary and potentially even fearful of new experiences if not handled correctly.
Grooming at home is not the same as a professional grooming session. It does not prepare a dog for the things groomers need to do or the way in which we need a dog to behave or be handled. Qualified groomers are trained to introduce your pup to the sights, sounds and feeing of grooming in a controlled, positive manner. It’s not good for your dog’s first experience with us to be as an older pup who has never had driers on them, become accustomed to the vibrations of clippers, to be comfortable with scissors around their face, and all this is happening to them all at the same time!
Give your pup the right start, contact your groomer when you bring your pup home and get them booked in for after their second vaccinations and get them started on their journey to grooming happiness!
You can see from this video Bo had a fab time and Laura kept the focus on fun using play as a distraction to the noise of the driers and ensuring Bo had a positive, happy experience with us.
