Back to school....
Last weekend I went back to my old school!! Which I hadn't been back to for 16 years! I was there to look after the lovely Lilli 🐴 who unfortunately is on box rest.

She was a pleasure to look after and I'm hoping she will make a speedy recovery 🤞🐴

⚠️ Blue-Green Algae Warning ⚠️

There are concerns regarding Blue-Green Algae along the North Wales coast. It has not yet been identified by Natural Resources Wales but despite this, they continue to advise pet owners to keep animals away from any stagnant water and obvious algal growth or accumulation as a precaution.

Bloom and scum-forming blue-green algae can produce toxins. Toxin-producing blooms are called harmful algal blooms. These toxins can cause serious health problems, including liver damage, neurological issues, vomiting, and death. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​ ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Dog owners should be aware of the following regarding blue-green algae: ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​ ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Know the signs: Algal blooms can appear as blue-green scum or a paint-like slick on the water’s surface. However, not all blooms are visible, and toxins can still be present even if the water appears clear. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​ ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Avoid exposure: Prevent your dog from entering or drinking from water bodies with visible algal blooms or where blue-green algae warnings have been issued. Keep your dog on a leash near potentially contaminated water. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​ ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Rinse your dog: If your dog has swum in a potentially contaminated water source, thoroughly rinse their fur with clean water to remove any algae residue. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​ ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

If you suspect your dog has ingested blue-green algae, seek immediate veterinary attention. Time is crucial, as prompt treatment can make a significant difference in your dog’s prognosis.

Enjoyed my time walking Rocky and Coco this week.
We avoided the heat by walking early in the morning and late in the evenings, lots of shade and reduced walking time. They were both a pleasure to look after 😊🐕🐶

I recently had the pleasure of visiting and looking after these gorgeous bundles of joy. They were only a few days old and being able to stay home, in their own surroundings, ensured mum was relaxed which helped her rear her beautiful kittens 😸

Things may have been a bit quiet on this page over the last few months and that's because there is a new member to the pack!!! I would like to welcome Freddie, born on the 2nd January.

I will now be taking bookings for dog walking and daily visits for all animals. I will not be able to have dogs stay over in my home or able to stay over in your home.
