Christmas Safety Reminder for Your Furry Friends! 🐾
The holidays are a magical time, but they also come with hidden dangers for your pets. To help keep your dogs and cats safe this festive season, I’ve put together some important information.
🚩 Common Christmas Toxins to Watch Out For:
Chocolate
Alcohol
Holly
Poinsettias
Mistletoe
Mince pies
Grapes & raisins
Christmas trees (pines + tree water)
Nuts
Lilies
Cooked bones
All of these can be harmful or even life-threatening if ingested by pets, so be sure to keep them out of reach!
🔔 Rawhide Overload
Christmas is a popular time for giving treats like rawhide chews, but too much can lead to serious blockages. This is dangerous for your pup and requires prompt attention.
Look out for these signs if you suspect a blockage:
Difficulty eating or passing food
Struggling to poop
Slight bloating
Blood in stool
Vomiting
Dehydration
Lethargy
If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your vet immediately.
✨ Keep the holidays joyful for everyone—including your four-legged friends!
Stay safe, stay merry! 🎁
Another amazing day with the incredible Tux! 🐾
With the holidays fast approaching, I thought it was the perfect time to add a little Christmas cheer to our walks. 🎄✨
(Expect a few more holiday-inspired posts coming your way soon!)
Today, Tux and I headed out to Bourne Woods for another adventure.
It's one of my favorite spots to visit—such a beautiful, family- and elderly-friendly location. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick stroll or a longer exploration, Bourne Woods offers the perfect setting to make your walk as short, long, or exciting as you like.

When Tux Met the Gang!
Today was extra special because I got to hang out with Tux not once, but twice! 🐾
This evening, I thought it would be a great idea to introduce Tux to Otis and Olive, and let me tell you, they hit it off like a house on fire! 💥
With their similar energy levels and playful spirits, it couldn’t have been a better match.
The trio had an absolute blast together, and honestly, I think they might've had even more fun than I did—though that might not be a secret! 😉
Here’s a quick clip showing how well they all got along. Can’t wait for more playdates like this! 🐶💕
Why I Love Taking on Cats at Sit, Stay, Play!
As a pet sitter, I've always had a special place in my heart for cats, and I’m excited to share why!
My very first pet was a cat, and it’s one of the reasons I feel such a strong connection with these independent yet affectionate creatures.
I’ll admit, I love cats just as much as I love dogs—they each have their own unique personalities, and cats can be just as engaging and fun as dogs, once you get to know them.
When I look after Olive and Rag, it brings back memories of how much I miss having a cat of my own. Olive’s adorable little “socks” and Rag’s big, expressive eyes never fail to make me smile.
And it’s not just about their looks—they both have personalities that have captured my heart.
What’s even better? While many cats view me just as the “food lady” or the “litter box cleaner,” Olive and Rag genuinely enjoy spending time with me! Whether it's Olive’s sweet “sit” or Rag’s curious gaze, it’s a reminder of how special each cat can be, and I love getting to know their little quirks.
I’ve had the pleasure of capturing Olive and Rag’s personalities perfectly, and it’s one of the highlights of my job.
I know I post a lot about dog walking, but honestly, a lot of my clients are cats—and I'm totally okay with that because I have a massive soft spot for them. Especially these two:
Meet Rag + Olive:
The moment I met Rag and Olive, it was instant soft purrs and pets all around. They’ve got so much personality, and I always look forward to my visits with them.
Getting good pictures of cats can be tricky, though—especially when they're not fans of my many funny angles to try and capture their beauty! But these two? They love a good show. They know how to sit, and when it's time to come in for the evening, they come right to the bell.
And they say cats are untrainable… well, clearly, they haven’t met Rag + Olive!
I absolutely love what I do, and I always make sure your pets get the best care possible. Whether it’s Rag + Olive’s evening bell routine or a dog’s morning walk, I treat all my furry clients like family.
Meet the Team – best to last- ME!
This is a little odd, writing about myself an all but I'm Danielle the proud owner of this little slice of pet paradise, and I’m so excited to introduce myself.
Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I was born in Reading, but raised in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, I've always had a deep connection to animals. From working on farms to spending time in veterinary clinics and alongside gun dogs, I’ve learned the ins and outs of animal care in every possible setting.
I’m not just passionate about pets – I’ve also taken steps to ensure their safety and well-being. I’m trained in CPR, choke management, and First Aid, so you can rest assured that your furry friends are in good hands. I’ve got a Level 2 City and Guilds qualification in Animal Care and Welfare, as well as a certificate in Animal Sitting and Dog Walking.
When it comes to my approach, I’m a talkative northerner, and you’ll quickly see that I’ve got a lot to say (probably too much, if I’m being honest)! But that’s because I truly care about making sure each pet feels happy, safe, and loved.
I may have grown up in the Dales, but my passion for animals knows no borders. Whether you’re looking for dog walking, sitting, or just some good old playtime, I’m here to provide a personal, caring service that will give both you and your pets peace of mind.
Thanks for choosing Sit, Stay, Play – I can’t wait to meet your pets (and probably talk your ear off while I’m at it)!

Meet the Team – Adam!
Now, you probably won’t meet Adam in person (unless you happen to spot us out on a walk),
BUT I thought I’d give him a little spotlight since he might make the occasional cameo! Adam joins me on weekend and late evening walks – he’s not always around during the busy weekday shifts, but it’s always nice to have some company on the quieter walks.
He's always happy to tag along and make our walks a little more fun – so don’t be surprised if tell you he will be joining in on our walks!
Just another video of Tux! 🐾
I get to see this beautiful boy every Tuesday and Thursday, and I have a feeling I’m becoming someone he looks forward to seeing 😉.
After our little leg-stretching walk, he’s turning into such a cuddly guy.
Enjoy this sweet snippet of our time together on Thursday — nothing like some quality moments with a dog who's truly become a little buddy. 💙

Meet the Team - Olive
A few of you may have already met Olive, thanks to her calm demeanor and maturity for such a young pup. At just seven months old, Olive has already earned a reputation for helping dogs feel at ease, especially during their first walk or introduction. Her gentle nature makes her a perfect companion for dogs who need a little extra comfort when settling in.
Olive is playful and loves to have fun, but she also knows when to step back and respect another dog’s boundaries. Unlike Otis, who’s full of boundless energy, Olive prefers to keep things a bit more low-key, staying close and observing when needed.
Olive was a special birthday gift for Adam this year, and she's quickly become a much-loved member of the team. She’s still very much a puppy, but her maturity often makes her seem like an old soul. Olive is growing quickly—both in size and in character—and it’s clear she’s going to be a tall one!
Together with Otis, they create a fun, dynamic duo—though when they’re together, things can get a little wild! But Olive’s calm, steady presence is always there to balance out the chaos.
🐾 Meet Otto! 🐾
Everyone, say hello to the newest member of the pack – Otto!
This lovable bear truly stole my heart today.
It took him a little while to warm up, but once he realized I was a treat dispenser, he came through in leaps and bounds!
Otto is a Flat-coated Retriever x German Shepherd mix, and you can definitely see the retriever side come out when we’re on our walks. He’s always stopping every few minutes to sniff something new or — you guessed it — jumping straight into the nearest puddle!
I can confirm he started the walk dry, but my car? Definitely not! 😅
All signs of a good, fun walk though!
I can’t wait to spend more time with this bundle of joy and get to know him even better. Stay tuned for more Otto adventures! 🐕💧
Meet the Team: Otis, Olive, Danielle (me) and... occasionally Adam! 😉
First up, let me introduce Otis – the ginger whirlwind of energy and affection, otherwise known as our first dog! Otis is a classic cocker spaniel – full of enthusiasm and always up for a good time. He’s got a big heart, and while he might not have perfected his manners just yet, he sure knows how to make you feel loved.
Otis lives to play, and while he means well, he doesn't always understand why not every dog wants to join in on the fun – so let's just say, he’s more “enthusiastic” than some dogs might like! 😂 But honestly, I can’t blame them – who wouldn't be a little thrown off by a ginger ball of energy coming at you full speed?
A little more about him:
Otis is a special one.... ( in more ways then one)
He’s the only pup in his litter, so I think that might explain his slightly unrefined social skills. He’s about a year and a half old now, and since he's "my" first dog, he’s definitely spoiled
(but don’t worry, Olive gets plenty of love too… she’s just more of a daddy’s girl 😉).
That’s Otis in a nutshell – loving, playful, and always ready for an adventure!
