We’re here at IFSS ECH & EM Leipa / Germany and getting ready for the opening ceremony this evening.
Chris and Matt are both competing in their respective canicross classes on Friday and Saturday and we hope you’ll be joining us in wishing them a great event and cheering them on.

It was lovely to get this amazing feedback from Louise at Pawsitive Fitness . She had just completed the TSB 2022 and placed 2nd Overall in the Women's DS2 class and only 1 second behind 1st place, over days of racing! What do you think to our brand new Repeater T? It’s made from 70% Bamboo and 30% Organic Cotton, so super comfortable.

Our next ambassador is the amazing Kaela. A super keen and up and coming canicrosser, just like our other ambassadors, we love how passionate she is about her dogs and making sure they're having just as much fun as she is.

Tell us about yourself and your dogs?
I’m Kaela, a proud Arctic Wolf athlete. I’ve got 3 rescue dogs, Chas who’s 11, Maya who’s 4 and Nala the GSP who’s 3. Typically you’ll only see Nala around at events but the other two make an appearance occasionally!

What events/disciplines do you take part in?
I’ve been canicrossing for 5 years now with all 3 of my dogs and recently have started bikejoring with Nala to add to her training.

What do you believe is your favourite achievement in dog sports to date?
I would say my greatest achievement would be seeing how far we’ve come as a team over the past 5 years especially through the switch of moving up from the junior category in most races to now racing against adults.

What are you aiming for in the future?
In the future I’d love to add some new members to the team, maybe try out some 2 dog racing and I’d 100% love to experience a European or World Championship race.

What's your favourite piece of Arctic Wolf kit and why?
My favourite piece of Arctic Wolf equipment is definitely the adventure harness, when I say we use it every single day, I mean that, perfect for all the adventures we get up to, even swimming, it’s so lightweight!

What's one piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in dog sports?
My advice to someone who wants to start getting out there with their dog would be to just make the most of every moment because we never get enough time with our 4 legged friends 🐾

Do your run with a smaller dog? Well we've got you covered, as the Multi-Sport Harness is now available in sizes 0 and 00!

Size 00 is ideal for dogs from 4-7kg and size 0 for 6-10kg*.

These are available now, so there is no longer a reason to not be connected to your smaller dog!

Introducing our next ambassador Matt. Having only been canicrossing for a year, he's already making a huge impression on the sport and has some of the most amazing dedication and dog care we've ever seen! We caught up with him to ask him a few questions about himself and his ambitions:

Tell us about yourself and your dogs?
I'm Matt and my dog Nigra is a 4 year old eurohound from the Top Dogz kennel in Lithuania. Her favourite things to do are run around very fast, harness work and playing fetch. We also have a Springer Spaniel called Max who likes to dig up the garden and eat!

What events/disciplines do you take part in?
Canicross, bikejor and lots of of lead walks and swims.
What do you believe is your favourite achievement in dog sports to date?
Within racing, probably wing the Junior U18 British title but out of racing just having fun with my best friend.

What are you aiming for in the future?
I've qualified and been selected to represent Great Britain so my main goal for this season is to place on the podium at the European championship in Germany.

What's your favourite piece of Arctic Wolf kit and why?
For me it’s the X back harness as most others I find pull of one side of the dog depending on where the dog is running in front of you but this one pulls straight down the middle which is great.

What's one piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in dog sports?
Just to make sure that the human and the dog both love doing the activities.

Our Ambassadors are an amazing bunch and inspirational for so many people, so we thought we'd introduce them to you over the coming weeks. If you see them out at events or on the trail, pop over and say "Hi" as they love to talk dogs, share stories and offer advice and guidance if needed.

We're starting off with our lead ambassador Chris and asked him a few questions:

Tell us about yourself and your dogs?
We have 3 dogs in our family, my race partner is a 37kg power house called Wolfie who is a 5 year old European Sled dog. We have a 13 year old Westie called Charlie who you will hear at any event, and lastly a rescue Pointer called Jake who is 3 and completes our family.

What events/disciplines do you take part in?
The main event we compete in is Canicross, however, we have also raced in Bikejor and Tri-Dog (triathlon with your dog).

What do you believe is your favourite achievement in dog sports to date?
Our favourite achievement to date would be our first ever Tri-Dog, having only swam together once before the event it was up in the air whether Wolfie would swim or not. But Wolfie never lets me down and we came away with 2nd place. 🙂

What are your plans for the future?
Looking to the future, I have always wanted to take Wolfie overseas. We have been trying to go for 4 years but injuries and COVID have unfortunately not made this possible. Hopefully, November 2022 will be our time to shine at the European Championships in Germany.

What's your favourite piece of Arctic Wolf kit and why?
My favourite Arctic Wolf kit would have to be the Run-Lite belt, having tried many different belts over the 16 years I have been Canicrossing. The Run-Lite belt has to be the most simple, light weight and comfortable belt I’ve ever worn. Wolfie tells me that the Arctic Wolf X-back harness is his favourite, he likes that it’s light-weight, comfortable and his favourite colour (orange).

What's one piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in dog sports?
If I was to give any advice it would be, decide what you want to achieve by Canicrossing and get a dog that suits. Bigger isn’t always better, and there is such a thing as too much dog.

Does you dog sometimes run slightly to the side? Or, maybe occasionally drop back to run alongside you? If so, the Multi-Sport could be the perfect harness for them and you!

We’ve had a great couple of days, so far at the CaniX UK (official) Cani-Cross UK or CaniCross UK Fur Nations.
Our new team manager, Chris was joined by our latest ambassadors Kaela and Matt.
Chris took another 1st place in the mens class (and then proceeded to come home first again in the local parkrun immediately after!)
Kaela then ran to a solid 3rd place in the woman’s class.
Finally, Matt made it a clean sweep of podium places with an extremely strong 1st place finish.
We’re so pleased and proud to be able to support some fantastic athletes and we’ll be showcasing them more (as well as our other ambassadors) in the not too distant future. Well done to all of you. 🐾

Did you know that it’s 8 years this week since we developed and first used our circular bar tack, making us the first in the world to use this stitch in dog products? It’s since become synonymous with our products and has even recently started being used by a others, so it must be good. 🙂 #
