Has it really been 2 years since my last post - here we are on Livs gotcha day again, all a little bit older not sure if any wiser. Liv is now 8 and still naughty and playful, good thing too as she has to keep Neo’s great great nephew, Picard, under control. To say he is nothing like Neo is an understatement but maybe more of him in another post. We still desperately miss our darling Neo, and so grateful to have beautiful Liv.

Dog wearing yellow? They need some space. If you see a dog wearing yellow, it could be for short or long-term reasons. The campaign encourages dog owners to…
Recall their dogs when they see a dog wearing a yellow ribbon/bandana/vest. This gives the dog and owner time to move out of their way and get used to people and animals.

I’ve not been able to post anything since losing Neo over a year ago but it’s Liv’s gotcha day, this beautiful, caring, cuddly, playful and tolerant girl has been with us for 2 years today. She’s been through so much change over the last year (will be sharing in posts to follow) so this post is to celebrate her, I don’t know what I would have done without her when we lost Neo. I’m still devastated without him but Liv has been such a comfort. Thank you gorgeous girl x

Well it has to be done it is Friday and is needed! Had a trip to our local and spotted this irresistible bottle of - discovered &t with grapefruit is rather delicious and the gin did not disappoint with the favourite tonic. You will notice the snacks for us and fishy snacks for neo and liv! Neo came up for a cuddle (or his snack)

We are all facing challenges right now in these unprecedented times. Neo has been my saviour so many times in the past years and he has been through so much with his own challenges and is a hero. He unfortunately relapsed with his lymphoma just as we went into isolation - I have to thank for seeing him immediately and helping us with what options were available. They are working hard to support all of us with our much loved family members, working long shifts and giving our loved ones the care and attention they need as well as support to us - they are also through all this and I can’t thank them enough. Especially Bron and Clover! Neo is on a reduced chemo regime but he was quite poorly from his first round last week so we have to see how he gets on and if his quality of life is affected we have to do what is best for him. He is still enjoying walks, food and apart from yesterday, giving me kisses and wagging his tail. Liv continues to love him and tease him. Keep strong, stay safe and be thankful for each moment you have with loved ones and appreciate the present x

I am so thrilled with the beautiful Laura has made of Neo. I will be getting it framed - it’s still in a protective cover so not the best photo. Laura kindly donated a custom sketch in aid of the auction the wonderful organised to raise much needed funds for the wildlife affected by the devastating - I had wanted to help the charities and how lovely that I now have a beautiful sketch of Neo as well! Thank you Both for supporting such a great cause!

Neo loving his new from pet shop - it’s super soft and he snuggled right into it- Liv loves it too- she jumped into it as soon as she saw it - I think I may have to get another one! I’ve seen this bed advertised on Instagram and Facebook but seeing it and being able to talk about with the lovely and helpful owner at shop in Brighton decided it! They are getting new colours and sizes in soon too! Also had a lovely coffee at their cafe upstairs - coffee and retail therapy 😊 @ Brighton

Liv and neo enjoying coconut yoghurt, Liv was so dainty, she made a great effort to get every last drop out of the tub, neo not so dainty - took him a little while to realise he had some left on his chin - bless!

My gorgeous boy has finished his ! 6 cycles, many blood tests, lots of antibiotics and I’m pretty sure hundreds of cuddles from us and from the wonderful in . We can’t thank them enough for the care and kindness they have given to Neo, and to us, a special thank you to Bron who gave him all his chemo treatments and listened to our concerns and made sure Neo had the best treatment during his months of weekly visits. They presented Neo with the certificate in the second photo after his last treatment - we were so touched, we of course agree. It’s a relief that the chemo is completed but a worry as to how long we have with Neo now. We need to see what recommend on what we need to do next but we will continue to appreciate and love Neo every moment we can and make as many lovely memories with Neo and Liv as we can.

26/11/2019

Oh my! First time since Liv joined us that neo has let her touch him, they are cuddled up on the sofa together and quite happy- it’s so sweet! I lost my place on the sofa but it is so lovely to see them together, Liv has been edging her way closer to him for weeks so she must be so happy. Neo is off for his next chemo tomorrow, such a brave boy.

22/11/2019

Neo and Liv got to the bed before me- this is my side! Neo has his jumper on at night to keep him warm as he has very little fur now- he seems to like it - it’s hand made from a talented lady from her shop is wullies and is so soft and very stylish!

05/11/2019

Met a lady we hadn’t seen for a while on our walk whose greyhound loves neo, ‘you’ve got a new dog? ‘she says- I say no it’s still Neo just a poorly boy who has lost his beautiful curls. He’s still beautiful to me but I do miss his white tuxedo shirt curly chest. These were taken on a rare sunny morning a couple of days ago when neo didn’t need a coat and Liv was enjoying romping through the woods as usual. I had both their attention as I had Neos ball!

01/10/2019

It’s today, black dogs are the hardest to home but please don’t overlook them, they are just as special and lovable. This is a photo of my beautiful boy a few weeks ago, you can just see he is losing his hair as being a non moulting dog, the affects him like it would us. He has lost his gorgeous soft curls and will need to wear a jumper soon to keep him warm but he’s being amazing and still enjoying life and cuddles, I love him as much if not more - black dog, bald dog, brave beautiful boy

31/08/2019

You wouldn’t think Neos neutrophils were 0.7 and he’d been sick at 4am! He had to have an injection of an anti-emetic later- he is such an amazing boy! I have to go away for work for 2 weeks and I am dreading being away from him, I worry about him constantly!

26/08/2019

Happy ! This was taken a few weeks ago, neo is doing well on his chemo, had a couple of set backs with infections so had to have antibiotics but he’s been a superstar and Liv is settling in well- but I have to keep remembering she had different rules so we’ve had to change our bed a few extra times due to a muddy young lady having a relaxing time! Neo is still top dog and Liv is respectful and slowly winning him over.

04/08/2019

As it’s it’s about time I introduced Neos adopted sister Liv. Liv joined our family about a week before Neo fell ill so it was a challenging time for all of us. Neo has had his moments of being grumpy and Liv getting to know him and us but they have both been amazing. Liv is also a and is 4 and is a completely different character to Neo - but she has helped him in ways we couldn’t - there have been times he hasn’t wanted to eat even with our best efforts but get them together and give them commands he is super competitive and will take his food as a reward which has been such a relief! So, more adventures ahead, neo is on chemo and that’s a challenge but he is a fighter and is being a superstar. If it’s possible to love him more than I did I do and I’m so glad he has a pesky little sister to watch out for him- I think he’s quite fond of her too!

27/06/2019

My beautiful boy Neo- he has been through so much over the last 18 months and we finally thought he was back to health and could enjoy life again. We had devastating news yesterday that Neo has lymphoma- life expectancy from diagnoses is up to 3 months with no treatment and could be a year with chemotherapy but no hope for a cure. We are waiting to see the oncologist next week to talk about options but we want the best for our boy and if that means palliative treatment that’s what we will do, we can’t be selfish at the expense of Neos quality of life. At the moment he is still enjoying life as you can see, enjoying his food and being cheeky and loving our cuddles of which he is getting many of. He is my best boy and I love him with all my heart.

His and hers ....

04/05/2019

Home at last and doing incredibly well ! He was a space cadet yesterday but he’s quite perky today, he’s following me everywhere and wants cuddles but that’s fine by me! He’s got a funky hairstyle again poor boy but it’s getting warmer so will time for a clip to even him out soon! He’s got to go back in a month to check out his neurological issues with his eyes and mouth but they are a little better too. So good to have him home and bonus of a long weekend in the uk.

01/05/2019

This is where you will find Neo at bedtime - in bed before us, head on d’s pillow - tonight it’s an empty space - no cuddles and foot warmer- neo is back at the vets for his second hernia operation- I felt so bad leaving him yet again. He is due to have his op tomorrow so hope to get him home on Friday but so worried about him, it’s his third general anaesthetic in 2 months! I won’t relax until we hear he’s out of surgery and then get him home to recuperate!

26/04/2019

to my darling boy Neo, 10 years old today! Love him so much! Hes had such a tough time lately and off for another hernia op next week - but his results for the spinal and joint taps came back clear so no sign of autoimmune or infection which is such good news! This was taken last weekend at in and is - beautiful gardens and delicious cream teas!

19/04/2019

Took neo for a short walk in the bluebell woods today - he has just been having short street walks for the last couple of weeks due to his surgery so it was really lovely seeing him off lead and having fun- he is pooped now but having to watch him as where they shaved his joints to tap them he’s been licking and they look sore so on alert and not leaving him on his own!

18/04/2019

Neos home, mri didn’t indicate anything, he’s had a spinal tap and joint taps to check whether his autoimmune issues have reoccurred plus bloods but won’t get the results back until Tuesday. His strange lumps seem to be related to an infection so we have some medicated shampoo, as he is not shutting his eyes properly we will be giving him eye drops and watching how he eats and drinks to see if he is managing with his drop jaw! It’s lovely to have him home but still no answers and he’s still a poorly boy but with a terrible haircut now! Thank you all for your messages it means so much and helps to know you are all thinking about him. Once we find out results of the tests we can hopefully find out what’s causing his symptoms and what will help him to recover.

16/04/2019

I haven’t posted for a while as been waiting for my boy to feel better but not good news right now. Last year his symptoms started by him not jumping on the sofa and bed and was diagnosed with autoimmune polyarthritis. After his treatment of steroids and immune therapy he got the all clear in October. In January he started not jumping up again but check ups didn’t find anything so just monitored his movements. Then poor neo was diagnosed with a perineal hernia so had the op 2 weeks ago. He seemed to be recovering ok but yesterday he started behaving oddly, staring right at me with his mouth open but not reacting, very lethargic and moany. The vet has referred him for an emergency appointment for an mri scan tomorrow as they are thinking it is neurological- I’m so worried and feel so sorry for my poorly boy he’s had such a rough time - he’s also got weird scabby hives all over his body that don’t seem to be bothering him but they also came up over the last 3 weeks. Has anyone else come across these symptoms?

11/12/2018

Oh my darling boy, neo went for a teeth clean today, we had to wait until he was off his meds as being on immune therapy meant he was prone to infection. He went in at 8:30 and didn’t get home until 6:30 as they had a few emergencies before they could do his teeth. My poor baby had one of his front teeth out and they shaved him in several places! He’s feeling very sorry for himself - the vet said we wouldn’t have been able to see anything on his tooth it was only on examination but doesn’t make me feel any better- what a day! Still he’s home and had cuddles all evening and will be continued when we go to bed. He’s a space cadet right now though so hoping he feels better tomorrow after he’s slept the general anaesthetic off!

01/11/2018

Neo in his ‘I don’t want to pose for a photo’ pose in the lovely cafe in today- we had scrumptious chocorange brownie with yoghurt and a delicious polenta and berry muffin with berry compote and Neo had a cuddle - lovely relaxed cafe - they do dinner too and cater for all diets!

01/10/2018

Happiness is lying on our bed with a tennis ball! Happy - don’t bypass the chance of choosing a - they are just as beautiful as any other dog and have just as much love to share

26/09/2018

Beautiful girls Indy and Blue from modelling their - they have had lessons from neo on how to avoid looking at the camera but they are all gorgeous! Did I mention the is award winning! @ Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, United Kingdom

23/09/2018

We made it to in for our delayed and it was a fabulous week. Stephen and Steven for the lovely welcome and arranging for our fabulous of local cheese and cider plus delicious neo shared some of the cheese! It was a beautiful cottage just right for a getaway but also very and a fabulous garden to wander in with a magnificent array of . The weather was changeable to say the least and the was well used and perfectly placed with a comfy sofa opposite from where I could supervise David’s cooking! Back to reality tomorrow and definitely weather! @ Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, United Kingdom

08/09/2018

So you may remember we had to cancel our in March as neo was very poorly in hospital and missed our wedding! So, the owners of the cottage we had booked have been so kind to defer our booking for when neo was better- so to say a big Blue and Indy will be getting - we are so looking forward to seeing them and for our delayed honeymoon at - we can’t wait!!

12/08/2018

from d’s brother- a from of Neo with a theme. for customising to our request, it lovely and to have a unique piece of art of neo to remind us of our wedding is perfect

19/05/2018

My wake up call! D is away so Neo has been my best buddy this week looking after me 💕

07/05/2018

So here he is clipped and cooler and seems happier - his fur is definitely thinner, you can see his skin on this knee here but much better than we thought - he’s also nearly back to his normal weight! Hope you all had a lovely sunny Monday!

05/05/2018

Neo looking exceptionally cute, we are just about to clip him and really hoping he doesn’t look too awful as his hair is much thinner due to the steroids and it won’t grow back as quickly but he really needs it - not to mention he asked himself in fox poo today and stinks!

21/02/2018

It’s today but it is every day isn’t it?! Sending extra love to Neos furry friends 💕
